Holy hell why had nobody told me about this man earlier? What a fantastic director.

Discuss.

I'm pretty sure there are some real artists in the ClockCrew, so I was just wondering how many Clocks are actively pursuing a career in an artistic direction?

I guess the most obvious would be animation, but painting, directing, acting, music.. pretty much anything artistic count too

Reading and Writing / Catch-22

So I read this book a bit ago.

Holy crap I loved every bit of it. The unique narrative, the weird antics, the basic concept of the Catch-22 bureaucratic failsafe.

this is always fun

find your favorite movie on imdb and filter the user reviews on "hated it"

post the worst review here

Fargo

A hideous, hyper-inflated bleakscape of a movie, 28 March 2008 - 1/10

What galls me most about this movie specifically and the Coen brothers' movies generally is that they all reveal the insipidness of both the Coens and their fans. What they can't achieve with excellent dialogue, well-spun stories, and logical continuity in plotting, the Coens make up for via blood, lust, more blood, and then more blood. Vanquished from their movies is any sense of humanity or hope, and we are left in what I can best describe as a "bleakscape" - where the great positive is the presence of so much that is negative. I do delight, however, in the spectacle of reading swooning fans' fawning tributes to the Coens' "films" (and yes, their fans will watch only "films").

Utterly unbelievable in the bleak, depressing, and joyless tableaux they offer, the Coen films are the perfect answer to a society full of soulless narcissists.

hey dudes

for a question on my exam i got something i couldn't figure out how to do (in oracle sql) so maybe you can help me

it was something like:

step 1:
recursively come up with a sum of unique numbers that adds up to the specified number

example, for the number 5:
1
1+2
1+3
2+3
1+2+3
1+2+3+4
1+2+4
1+3+4
2+4
3+4
2+3+4

...etc

this one column table would have to be recursively generated using a single table (the dual table in oracle) and hierarchical functionality (connect_by clause)

do any of you guys have any idea? i'm lost

Bug reports, feedback, suggestions / thread moving bug
January 08, 2012, 04:55:51 PM
um i made this thread in the general discussion

http://www.clockcrew.cc/talk/showthread.php?100504-kanye-west-is-the-next-steve-jobs

its about an article about kanye west starting a sort of thinking tank company

QuoteWestââ,¬â,,¢s new company, DONDA (named for Westââ,¬â,,¢s deceased mother), will apparently have ââ,¬Å"over 22 divisions with a goal to make products and experiences that people want and can afford,ââ,¬Â according to the rapper, adding that he wants ââ,¬Å"to put creatives in a room together with like minds that are all waaaay doper than meââ,¬Â¦ We want to help simplify and aesthetically improve everything we see hear, touch, taste and feelââ,¬Â¦ To dream of, create, advertise and produce products driven equally by emotional want and utilitarian need.. To marry our wants and needs.ââ,¬Â

If this all sounds like the exciting late-night ramblings of a musician with a lot of money and success behind him rather than a successful business plan to you, then youââ,¬â,,¢re not alone ââ,¬â€œ especially considering the ââ,¬Å"over 22 divisionsââ,¬Â part. West claimed at one point to be ââ,¬Å"assembling a team of architects, graphic designers, directors musicians, producers, AnRs, writers, publicist, social media experts, app guys, managers, car designers, clothing designers, DJs, video game designers, publishers, tech guys, lawyers, bankers, nutritionist, doctors, scientist [and] teachersââ,¬Â for the company, which hardly sounds like the most organized effort.

i then noticed the thread disappeared and it moved to the hardware & software forum so its probably a bug (i think because of having steve jobs in the title?) cause it has nothing to do with hardware and software

just thought i'd get it out there.. pretty weird shit

so i guess the biggest topic of the off season would be the chris paul trade to the lakers getting rejected by david stern ha haa it's such bullshit

so anyway at the time of writing this the miami heatles are still undefeated, being 5-0 and partly thanks to the efforts of rookie norris cole look like the best team in the league
even in this early season though lebron has showed all signs of being a choker so will the heat again get stuck in playoffs or will they manage to get lebron that ring he wants so badly

now that chris paul moved to the clippers llob city is in full action. How far do you think they'll go?
durant having a superb start to the season too
it's still early but i think the major contenders will be the heat (obviously), bulls, thunder, magic, spurs, nuggets and then i dont know, the 76ers/lakers/trailblazers?

i dont know man but ha ha how bad do the mavs look this year

me i'm happy to see my timberwolves are on the up and coming. kevin love is playing incredibly, getting about every rebound in the game and stacking up the points double doubling all the time. rubio looking like a pretty exciting player, he's not a good shooter but he's a terrific passer. things on the up and coming for my wolves

how about you guys. what you reckon for this season

Went to see it last night, but I don't know, I expected a lot of it and it didn't really deliver quite as much as I had hoped. Most of the action scenes were handheld filmed, which was good, as the action really felt like you were there.

Overall, it was good, but not great.

In case you don't already play, sign up.
http://fantasy.premierleague.com/

Here's my team.

Cech in goal, because Chelsea gets plenty of clean sheets. (Same reason for Terry, who's also dangerous on set pieces). Konchesky and Hangeland as cheap signings, Evra because he's supposed to always play and Manchester gets a fair amount of clean sheets.

Lampard as captain, expensive signing but he's always good for a lot of points. Pienaar was a bargain at 6.5, and I'm hoping Fellaini will forget about his yellow cards and basicly do well. Riera should start playing more as he's excellent, so that's also a bit of a guess. Same goes for Mascherano.

Bendtner up front, picked him because Adebayor transferred to City, meaning he should get to play pretty much every game now as the tall striker, and he'll definitely get a good amount of goals as he's got plenty potential.
Torres just is a great striker.

Subs: Sorensen, Zayatte, Mascherano, Delfouneso
Mostly budget signings as subs, but whatever.
