General Discussion / Deviant Art Contest?
March 04, 2011, 04:33:11 PM
Lolwut?
Quote from: DeviantArtThe deviantART Stock Project with Fotolia challenges you to combine one regular Cat, one regular Fruit and one regular Clock into something amazing, funny or incredibly ridiculous.

You must use one each of the specific cats, clocks and fruit provided in the asset pack. Your entry can originate in any medium! These are stock pictures. You can trace them, draw them, photomanipulate them, stack them, cook them or even collage them!

Why three random categories and not ones that "go" together? Because if there wasn't a challenge it wouldn't be a contest and if it didn't require you to be creative it wouldn't be dA! Make us laugh or make us cryââ,¬â€knock our socks off.

General Discussion / Summer is officially over.
September 23, 2010, 12:08:37 AM
Tonight is the fall equinox, which means that soon we Arizona clocks will be able to leave our houses without dying soon.
Even more importantly is this years Harvest Moon. Apparently, it's a special Harvest moon, and was perfectly alligned with the setting sun at moosnrise, and was freakin' HUGE. It was really amazing, and if you have a chance to check it out this week, you should. If you missed it tonight then you really missed out, it won't be this big or bright again for 20 years.

After months of speculation about whether or not Portal 2 would exist (Some were saying that it would be synced with Half Life instead), it's February release was finally announced by Valve at E3 last June (or, "Cheshire's no internet or TV period.) So I just found out about it, like, a week ago.
I gotta say, I was skeptical, at first, about the idea of a sequel, but I think that it looks really good.
I'm really glad that they're introducing new puzzle aspects, namely tractor beams, repulsion gel, and propulsion gel.
It looks just as good at the first one, if not better. Not to mention two player co-op mode and a new character voiced by the one and only Stephen Merchant.

There is lots of neat info at Think With Portals. You should totally check it out, yo.

Click here to see it HD.
I think it looks pretty fucking epic, aside from the casting controversy, which i don't really care about anyway. Maybe M. Night Shamwow will pull it off after all. The effects are nice, and Nicola Peltz sounds just like Katara.

First drawing I've done in a while I actually like, so now I need the Clock Crew to hit me until it's actually good! :D

Edit: Cheeks an lips darkened.
Shadows edited, added trees and made the house not floating.

It's like regular Google, only you get what the person before you searched.

It's kind of creepy, and not at all useful, but also a bit interesting to see what other people are searching. I suppose, it's also a good way to spread Clockcrew.cc.

Here's an article about it

Entertainment / Blackily Guy
October 19, 2009, 11:00:13 PM
So I just got done watching some episodes of Black Family Guy The Cleveland show. I have to admit I was disappointed. It's basically just Family Guy, as a Black sitcom parody that borders on the edge of racism. Just Like American Dad, The Cleavland show is pretty much more of the same, they even still do lousy cutoff jokes.

It's not even that I dislike Family Guy, I was just really hoping that Seth Macfarlane would branch out more. They may as well have just kept Cleveland in Family Guy, and added his Family as new characters.

It looks like a fake, but a really disappointing fake. I'm wishing this was real sooo bad. It's very well made in my opinion.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but Batman fans should go here.

They're these neat little fan videos about Harleen Quinzel's meetings with the Joker. They aren't perfect, but definitely worth a gander.

Finally saw this movie. Personally, I liked it. It's pretty campy, and family oriented, but I like that kinda thing now and again. I don't really get what the big controversy is.
It's not a story glorifying the life of Blacks in the 1800's, but showing that even when times are tough, you can always wear a smile. Making the best of any situation.

The movie was strongly criticized (Though not as strongly as many would have you think) for it's use of the historically accurate, though considerably Politically incorrect, Black dialect. However, I feel that it took nothing away from the film. It was not only accurate, but really added to the aged wisdom of Uncle Remus' Character.

The same people who think that film is racist are the same people who find the adventures of Tom Sawyer is racist because of the Black dialect.

At any rate, if you can get past the whole controversy, it's a pretty good flick if you like old Disney (Which I know a lot of you do not.) And even if you don't like campy movies, it's still pretty interesting historically.

Well, Have a zippity-doo-dah day!

Drawn by hand, colored in MS paint, which is why the line art sucks ass.

Anyway, edited in Powerpoint and junk.
When I finally get Photoshop back, I'll try to make it prettier.

Other than some fakey looking CG, it looks pretty flippen cool. Lucky Limey Tea sipping Bastards get it before us (If we here in the US get it at all...) Oh Well, I'll find a way to see it regardless. :)

Pokemon Stadium / Clockday Sprite
August 16, 2009, 01:06:04 AM
So, I recently moved, leaving my computer behind (It's a complicated story) and now have a new one with no photoshop, flash, or any other artistic media. For the upteenth time I found a flash I was working on uprooted. Whats a clock to do for Clockday? Well I took my awesome spriting skills* and made a sprite using nothing but a free animation program and MS paint (It's all I have) and made a sprite in honor of Clockday. Happy Clockday everyone!

I was gonna put these in the original doodle thread, but since it's such a big post, I decided to put them here.

Alice of Wonderland:

Sokka Variations:

Dev Patel as Zuko:

My friend Heather

Evil Villain Kirby:

Been experimenting with different styles, but haven't done anything serious in a while. Been taking anatomy classes to, and as you can see, they aren't really paying off yet. I'll continue to work on it.

Wait, Gary Oldman is in it? There is hope yet! I really hope the motion capture isn't as shitty as it was in Beowulf though...

Entertainment / More on Burton's Alice.
May 16, 2009, 10:22:15 PM
Once again Tim Burton and Disney will be working together (barley) to create a sequel to Lewis Carroll's book, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. I'm really excited for this movie
One, it is a sequel to the original story, which is a concept I have always been a fan off. Two, no one does Victorian better than Burton, in my opinion,a nd the visuals thus far are stunning... Three, it gives me something to compare to McGee's Alice, and I love healthy competition. Four, Tim Burton has never let me down before, and I don't think he has any intention to start now, with my favorite book.
