Calm down lads, it's all love and videogames. All comes down to taste and personal preference anyway.

Quote from: Thor;1950738Cops called to shut down Ouya (real article)
Homeless invade ouya parking lot booth (parody article)

I feel kind of bad for the Ouya.

What's that? :O Never heard of it.

Also SlurpeeClock! I'm a big fan :D

I've had some livestreams in the background during the day, there's some really cool games coming out. "The Crew" looks pretty damn cool and I usually hate realistic/non-combat racing games. But tuning in to a esport event where they race from coast to coast or clan vs clan could be really cool.
Also God of war fighting DLC (free) looks pretty sexy for watching events on stream.

Quote from: MightyBooshClock;1950727Are you saying that Wii has no multi player? And no good single person games? Okay, that's it. You have to be trolling man.

It has the most multiplayer games, but not the kind I enjoy. Mariokart is fun for like 20 minutes of play then I want something else. Super brawl is the same thing, after a while it's the same old same old feeling.

The singleplayer games is severely lacking compared to the other consoles. Both graphical and story for me. JRPG's don't count on the case that it isn't fun to watch someone play those whilst it's still fun to watch friends play a game that is fastpaced and have a story.

For me the Wii lacks in almost every regard compared to the other consoles to the point that I'd never buy one, but I don't mind my friend buying one. Wii U just feels like the same but by now it's getting old.

Quote from: MightyBooshClock;1950704Famine, I dislike you, and also how you call the super smash bros series "brawl".

As I mentioned before, I am have a certain level of dyslexia, names are hard for me to distinguish so for me that entire line of worlds just moshes togheter. Super smash, brawl, etc.

I've played them all and I love the series as I said, I have a nintendo fanboy friend who's bought all the consoles but apart from mario kart and smash there has been no games for the Wii that we could play or enjoy as a group. Whilst our xbox360 had some nice games like Alan wake that you could enjoy watching one person play or a lot of coop games like Gear of war, halo etc.

For me I'd very much like to play the next brawl as well but the lack of third party games just makes the Wii U unable to be worth the cost for us.
I mean fuck sake we had to buy Wii controls to play new Super mario 4 player coop because they didn't make the old controllers backwards compatible. That's not very kind to consumers and undermines my trust to the company.

Quote from: SoBe Clock;1950695Okay well I couldn't disagree with this post more but I'll humor it. I'd like to address this part specifically. To claim that Nintendo games aren't games just because you don't like them is stupid and lends your point no weight. Anyone who knows me knows I'm an avid PC gamer, but PC simply does not have equivalent games to a lot of Nintendo's offerings, let alone 8 dollar versions that are more innovative.

The closest thing the PC has to Zelda is Darksiders. While Darksiders is definitely good, it's not more innovative by any means, and "cooler" is debatable.

PC has a lot of platformers and action platformers through the indie games scene, so you could probably find games similar to Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario Bros and 2D Metroid games pretty easily, but PC really has nothing like Mario Galaxy at all, nor anything like Metroid prime unless you use a scattershot approach like saying "gravity based platformer" and "atmospheric FPS."

Closest thing PC has to Smash Brothers? Not really anything. I would not call Street Figher, nor the upcoming releases of Skullgirls or Mortal Kombat similar.

Closest thing PC has to Mario Kart? Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing.... wooo.

Pikmin? Overlord but that series sucks.

Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Luigi's mansion? Nope.

It wouldnt be hard to find PC equivalents to Fire Emblem.

PC has a lot of innovation on it and an incredible library of games. But of all the things the PC has, there's no library of games quite like Nintendo's.

I will admit it was a broad statement which is why I apologized in advance.
But as I mentioned in above text, Mario kart and brawl do not make justice to buy a console for me.

Pikmin/Pokemon/animalcrossing(wut...)/etc are for me quite childish games I've never enjoyed. If you enjoy them all power to you.

Fire Emblem I agree because that's actually a cool series I wish I could play. So we're up to 3 games now. Still not enough for me.

One of my earliest gaming memory is playing Zelda on supernintendo, as well as super mario. This still makes me sad because I'd like to enjoy them but I'd much rather see them try something new, fresh, I mean there's a reason the timeline in Zelda is fucked up because they're trying to make it serious whilst adding more and more shit. Whilst mario has done the smart design choice of just ignoring any serious story at all.
Which is why for me it becomes as appealing as Modern shooter warfighter 5 after a while because they all just blurr togheter.

Now I know I'd have fun playing Super mario galaxy but I'd have fun doing a lot other stuff for less money it'd cost me, whilst I wouldn't feel betrayed by a company I used to think was a great asset to the gaming community.

This all boils down to taste in the end. But I'll be a bit arrogant and say that I do think the broader population of gamers and gaming communities would agree that Ps4 is the console for this generation. Whilst if Wii was your console of choice then I don't think much has changed for you but I guess that is what those people want as well.

EDIT: Also I watched those Xbox Done videos just before coming here, was gonna post em. I don't get who is handeling public affairs at Microsoft.

Quote from: NintendoClock;1950668Brawl was such a disappointment I don't even care about the new smash bros.

Not even Mega Man and wii fit trainer really make me want to buy it.

The 3DS is the only real thing Nintendo has going for it. I was hoping for some kind of incredible surprise to make me want to buy a WiiU like a new METROID or FZERO or StarFox.

As of right now, the only REAL compelling game is Pikmin. Windwaker HD looks neat but its still a rehash and everything else promising is gonna be on the 3DS so.... wheres the incentive?

The fact that Retro is working on ANOTHER DKC is also disappointing. I'm sure it'll be great, but they're capable of more. The studio that brought us the classic Metroid Prime shouldn't be working on a 2D DKC.
This, very much this.

I've played every brawl since the start and I think the second was the best. Last one had lost it's initial appeal and was more of the same old.

New one lost me with the new Villegar bullshit because that's just a crap character from a casual game.

I'm sorry if I offend anyone but most of nintendo's games arn't really "games" to me. They're just same old concepts that I could pay less than 8 dollars for on Steam to get a cooler, more innovative version off.

Buying a console to play the last two decades games with new graphics seems like lunacy as well as idiocy to me. As well as supporting Nintendo's lazy posture towards their market and their fans.

I mean yeah PS4 is being dicks with paying for online but to be truthful you at least get some games from it at times and with the market pressing for huge amounts of DMR etc. I say it's a fair compromise. Ontop of that their ACTUAL FUCKING GAMES are pushing bounderies on concepts, mmo, rpg etc. whereas nintendo does nothing of the sort.

And microsoft... I mean blah.

I'm not saying PS4 is perfect or that they managed a 10/10, far from it, but I just see the other two as blatant failures from a "gamer" perspective. Nintendo/Wii/u just isn't a console anymore, it's a home entertainment system. It's not made for gaming or gamers in mind.

Quote from: Thor;1950626MOTHERFUCKING MEGAMAN IN SMASH BROS

That's it, I don't care about anything else, Nintendo won E3. NINTENDOMINATION 2013

Sony lost it when they started charging for online and the xbone lost before it even started.
Ok I can understand if this is trolling.

Quote from: RobClock;1950644Nintendo won this year i dont give a single fuck.

I'm down with what the PS4 is serving, but I couldn't possibly be more excited for what The big N rolled out. New 3D Mario platformer isn't pushing any real boundaries, but it seems like its got enough of what I want to be more than worth the purchase. Smash Bros. 3DS/U's MegaMan reveal was boner inducing. Bayonetta 2, X, Wind Waker HD, and the new Donkey Kong Country (DIXIE!!!) all look fantastic.

If this means I'm a fanboy, you can color me Nester.
This I don't get.

Apart from SuperSmashBrawl which is basically the same game but it's always nice with new stuff... All the other things just seem I'm a edgy teen as hell.
Guess they know their market.

http://www.gaming-age.com/2013/06/nintendo-unveils-first-party-and-third-party-offerings-for-2013-and-2014/

So.... One new IP?

Rest is the classic zelda/donkey/mario/party.

I don't know, this feels like a new age, Destiny and all other larger than life games might not reach it but the feeling is there and Nintendo really feels like they're stuck in the past.

So Sony just took this E3 by the throat and fucked it raw.

Me and my friends own a xbox360 but yeah Sony just won this no question.

Since Halo has lost its golden wings I don't see any reason to get a Xbone. Especially not with Destiny coming on PS4.
It's a shame they snuck in the Ps+ needed for multiplayer games.

And nintendo for me will just be like plantsvsbears and planetrabbits or whatnot: Cute games that don't engross me enough to warrent time or money.

I played Fable III with a friend.

It was a pretty decent game and if you were a fan of the series it was worth playing... UNTIL we both stumbled upon two gamebreaking bugs that apparently had been known for over 8 fucking months on the Xbox version (and still not fixed) and we were playing on PC.

So in all I can't recommend it to anyone because those bugs ruined the entire experience. As in corrupting both our saves and characters as well as our progress.

So am I hyped for Fable IV?

Well, they can't make it worse, can they?

EDIT: Also Halo ended for me at Halo III. Digging up masterchiefs corpse to rape it for money after he has already finished the fight is just silly. I've played Halo IV and sure it was nice but it's not the Halo of yore.

Quote from: SoBe Clock;1949890Sony announced that they will not be enforcing any used-games-drm. Anything that does that on PS4 would be up to the publisher just like on PS3, such as EA with their recently abandoned online-pass system. Sony and Nintendo are looking pretty good right now during all this xbone business.

If Sony has any brains in their departments someone will tell them this is the golden hour to capitalize on the indie and gamer market.

The casuals don't give two shits about any of these happenings, mothers will still buy the new "top game" for "console y". But if Sony opens their arms to developers, modders, then a huge amount of fans and money will follow.
Just look at steam... And they're pretty shitty for modders.

Quote from: Thor;1949685Oh, don't be mistaken. It is going to have dull and boring gameplay. That is not even a question. That was confirmed when they said it would be an MMO. That's one of the primary features of the genre.

I like the idea of a class base on exploring though. Exploring the map was my favorite thing about WoW.

Agreed, I miss the mystery of exploring.

Guild wars 2 did platforming right.

One of the things that piques my interest in Wildstar (god I hate that generic name) is the fact that there's a subclass for exploring. Suits me perfectly :D

Elder Scrolls Online
, but I'm probably just a fan boy, so yeah.
Well that's cool then. I'll dream with you!! It doesn't hurt to hope! The game looks like WoW and Borderlands made an "oops" baby.
<3
It's weird though, everyone and every gaming page I visit (reddit, TeamLiquid, gametrailers) all seem to think ESO will be very dull and boring. From the gameplay I have seen I must admit I fear the same.
It just seems like Neverwinter without the dodge mechanic :(

Quote from: Lump Clock;1949622EDIT: Okay, okay I watched some of the teaser videos online, this game has definitely caught my interest. Still, very flashy and the attitude is seething. It has got me hooked, but I have yet to be sold.

Haha yeah I felt the same when I found it, everyone on twitch was talking about it and I was like "What is all this fuzz about?! >:C" And I was skeptical, then it was kinda charming so I'll keep a lookout.

Quote from: Thor;1949659Is it free to play?

If it is, I'll give it a shot. If it's not, I'll just wait a month for it to fail and then go free to play.
They haven't decided, it's still in development.

I was poking fun, also I'm dyslectic so I don't mind trying.

I'm like one of those three-legged dogs, I can make it on my own!

Oh I don't mind, I know the ClockCrew is all about bullying newcomers and having sweaty male-sex in the locker-rooms.

Quote from: Lump Clock;1949277It's flashy, I'll give it that. But honestly the next big MMO in my opinion will be ESO.
I'm not really impressed, sorry. That being said, I think it is worth trying. All things deserve a chance.

ESO?

Oh don't worry, I was pretty mild when I first saw it and I still am.
I just dare to dream.

I couldn't find any topic with the search function so I figured I'd make a topic about it.

For those whom like me had no idea what this quite generically named MMO is about; This seems to be on every nerds lips as the new hope for MMO's.
Me being a huge skeptic I checked out all their videos and feed and well, I'm as pumpt as I can afford myself to be nowdays... Which is not a great deal, but still.

Oh and I signed up the Clock Crew as a gaming group interested in betatesting. Our leader is StrawberryClock and I referred this website <3.

thread title is misspelled.

It's "It's", not "Its".

Also this console makes me sad as a gamer, always liked the Xbox consoles but they seem to go the Wii route of fucking their core consumers and whoring out for the bigger market.

I can't blame them, but I honestly think they're way to late to the party as well as being ridicelous with the whole 24h internet thing.
