General Discussion / I need a pet
September 30, 2008, 11:47:33 PM
I have a turtle, and he is a fucking tank.

We don't know how old he is, but my mom found him walking down the street one day, a couple miles outside of Oakland. Not making this up. He was all scratched up like a raccoon was trying to get at him or something.

We named him Nipper, because, even though he's a red-eared slider, he bites.

Most of our turtles were wiped out, in spite of our best efforts, by some kind of contagious turtle cancer. Mama turtle, so named because she laid eggs, Moe, so named because she destroyed grass in the manner of a lawn mower, Leonardo, Michaelangelo, and Raphael, who were somehow outlived by their I'm a edgy teen sister Donatello, (now renamed Bubbles and residing adjacently to Nipper,) OJ, so named because he was black, and Rosie, named after the AC/DC song Whole Lotta Rosie, because she was huge, all died of the same mysterious turtle disease. And those are just the ones I can remember.

Nipper contracted it, tragically, about 5 years ago, but, since he'd been with us so long, we decided we owed him a chance, and took him to the vet.  5 years and $200 worth of turtle saving hypodermics later, and he hates us for poking him with needles, but he's still happily catching and eating feeder fish (some of which apparently escaped his attention and have mysteriously grown almost as big as he is) snails, slugs, and name brand turtle food.

(We're not turtle people, or anything, we just keep a lot of animals.) I'm failing to say a turtle makes a great pet, but they do.

Quote from: Marked One;1415236I'd probably tape them all together to form the complete image and then put it somewhere noticeable in a large city I live near, maybe on the side of a building or something like that.

Necrapolis / About this forum
September 30, 2008, 08:37:58 PM
This forum came about at the suggestion of PatriotClock.

It is the sports forum, for discussing sports, from American favorites such as the African Pygmy Bowling Championships, to such Pacific Islands and Tazmanian sports as Table Tennis.

This forum is under a trial run!
  • For the next three months, it will remain up and active and as without administrative interference as any other forum would.
  • At the end of the year, I'll close the forums for inspection.
  • If I find that the forum has remained active, on topic, and has had an overall positive effect on the BBS as a whole, it will be re-opened and become a permanent fixture of the site, taking its place alongside the anime, drugs, and medical forums.

Do not trust the googluminati.

I meant "meta" to mean postmodern/self-referential/ironic actions taken to comic or satirical effect.

I don't think us real niggas are supposed to talk about this but that's basically what we're doing whilst bitch niggas be tripping over theyself.
