Is fucked up, so far the following is my best seamless loop, but you can still put your finger on it and say "THERE IT IS!" :/

How the hell do you do it?

(1.20 megs, let it load for a bit, 2:01 tune, click on it again to stop.)

SpongeClock SquarePants

listen to normal music, it helps

BoomStick Clock

This is normal music, fuck you. :(

Ok, but HOW?

ArgoonKlok

Make the first frame the same as the last, make the penultimate frame a Keyframe, delete the last Keyframe, and drag the penultimate (now last) keyframe to the former last keyframe's position.

... oh. Music. nvm ololol

It IS a wav dickmunch. :/

Edit: On reflection, this is actually a pretty good seamless loop.

I've only ever tried two attempts at seamless looping in the last 3 years, but they've both been fairly successful.
How to make it work is, sometimes Flash likes to be a dick and imports only part of the song.
Well, what you do is you import the entire song into Flash, but as a separate file.  Then, you go to your library, and right click and go to "Edit In..." and edit it in whatever program.  Then, when you edit it in there and make your loop, Flash won't cut off the beginning or end, and the only thing that determines how good the loop loops is how well you cut it.
Here are my attempts.

None of you actually bothered to sit through my loop did you?

Also, your first loop is much more seamless than your second, toppy. Good job. :D

I listened to the whole thing.  I didn't notice any problems, but I might have lost focus after 2 minutes.
ALso, thanks :)  I know the first loop is more seamless, it was pretty tough making the second loop as seamless as it is because the drums kept changing throughout that little bridge there.

BoomStick Clock

Well it loops exactly at 2 minutes and 1 second.

Also, wav without mp3 compression, used ADPCM compression...just incase y'all were wondering how exactly i got a 2 minute wav to export into a swf the size of 1.2 megs.

You did a fine job at looping. The problem is the music. It's features are landmarks. Good loop audio must sound like it's supposed to be repeated. Even this sounds good enough, but the percussion builds as it goes through, and so the barer starting point is noticeable when compared immediately with the end point. For example, the loop in my movie Asterisk is good loop music because it's basically a chorus and an unchanging rhythm. Choruses are by definition repetitive and the rhythm makes it seem like you never left the continuum of the song.

Also I fingered myself to this music.

ChocolateBarClock

I just open it in Audicity and remove any silence at the beggining and end.

That's actually great advice, thanks! :D

I use Adobe Audition 3, pre-make the loop, then envelope to reduce peaks at the ends, and voila.

Now if it needs to be looped with alot of animation and may go out of sync, then I have it fade out at the beginning and end, starting a new event sound before the old one has faded out. It's not 100% seamless, but can overcome the problem with a music loop going out of sync with the animation after a few loops.

Even in a sound clip with a lot of landmarks, though, you can make it loop seamlessly. You just have to make sure the timing is right so that you don't cut a beat or a pause in half and make sure the sound on both ends is totally flat so they'll fit together without any pops or weird shit.

I do use flash. Audacity is a simple yet nice audio editor.

My sig is a great example of this. First, you have to have a section appropriate for looping. That's a lot to explain, but it's fairly intuitive.

Second, make sure you cut off ALL silence from the beginning and end of the sound clip, and zoom in if you're using Audacity. If you are using Audacity, holding shift and clicking play lets you loop the sound so you can test it. It should loop perfectly in Audacity and Flash, but Flash only if it's NOT a synchronized loop. It must be Event or Start.

Also, short, repetitive sounds are easiest.
