What hair-raising escapades are your characters going to find themselves in on your 100-page screenwriting odyssey? What is your story about? What makes it so special? This thread is here so that you can get your plot outline out there and see how it looks written out in front of you. Hell, maybe you can think of your whole plot in this thread!

Please keep all plot topics in this thread, to keep the main forum clean!

Setting goes in here too, since it relates to the plot!

The plot for my script was actually my friend's idea. He got the idea for it after watching The Emperor's New Groove. It's a story about a young Inca girl named Tsuvillaca (or "Tsu" for short) who encounters a dying jaguar goddess. As she dies, she passes on her goddess-ship to Tsu, making her an avatar. The goddess had a son, Thonapa ("Thona" for short), who needs to be taken to his father.

During all this, the Incan Civil War is raging, and the Spanish have begun to invade. Both parties are interested in the dead goddess in some way, and so are interested in Tsu. Her brother, a warrior on one side of the Civil war, and one of the soldiers in the Spanish party, band together to protect her on her journey.

What are some of your other ideas? Feel free to share them here!

I've got plenty of ideas for stuff, but they're all things I'd want to take my time with, so they wouldn't make good endurance challenges.

So, instead, I'm gonna think of something else.  Probably a comedy of sorts.
Idea just struck:

A serial burglar robs a person's home but makes a crucial mistake (probably leaves their credit card for some reason or another, I dunno, I'll figure it out) and the victim of the robbery finds out the burglar's identity.  Being that the owner has fallen on hard times, he strikes a deal with the robber:  he gives the owner back the stuff stolen, and, on top of that, has to give him a certain amount of money each month.  Thus, the robber must continue to rob houses in order to pay the owner to keep his identity hidden, all while trying to find a way out of the situation, and problems escalate.

Sounds good to me.  I'll try and make it witty and character-driven, like Burn After Reading.

If I were into terrible puns I'd make the title a joke about Ponzi schemes or whatever, but I won't, since it's not exactly a Ponzi scheme.

Wind-up Clock

An allied pilot in late 1947 assists in a secret government project using captured German technology. The Nazis had been experimenting with a portal generator, and the prototypes that the Aliies have captured have had positive results with small living objects. The next step was transporting large objects with living subjects. So a P-80 Shooting Star and its pilot were chosen to try the gate out.

You can see where this goes.

The pilot is thrown into the middle of an alternate WWII, where flying robots that turn into prop planes battle it out between themselves and an unknown alien enemy. Almost all of the human population has been wiped out due to the aliens, and the autonomous robo-planes have been keeping to their assigned directives.

The Allied planes (US, UK, USSR, Australia, China, And the European Resistance comprising of Free French, Finland, and Poland) all focus on keeping their citizens, hidden in strategic bunkers and shelters, alive. Many of them stored in facilities in the UK, US, USSR, and Australia. They hope to keep the Axis planes and aliens at bay as long as they can, until they can find a way to beat the aliens and free the world.

The Axis Planes (Germany, Italy, and Japan) are out to destroy the allied planes and fulfill their leader's wishes of world conquest. Their increased skill and technology allows them to consider the aliens a minor threat, even though half of Europe has been wiped clean off the map by the alien's initial attack. The Aliens had deliberately targeted the axis nations first, because they were seen as the more aggressive and ergo the bigger threat.

The aliens are mechanical agents sent to retrieve a piece of technology that had fallen to earth in late 1933. That piece of technology is what gave the humans the ability to build the autonomous planes. After repeated failures, they call for backup.

So the person encounters the aliens, the prop planes, and whatnot, and is scared out of his pants. He encounters a dogfight between aliens and National German Republic fighters (the Nazis of that world). Naturally they go after him with guns blazing. Although the pilot is flying a jet, the NGR planes are flying robots, and have 360 degree firing arcs and side-to-side maneuvering.

He has his butt saved by UK and US fighters.

The planes do have their own personalities, each molded on their original directive, i.e. The Defiant turret fighter will be cautious, slow, and methodical while he picks apart fighters at long range, while the P-47 fighter bomber will be rash, aggressive, and accurate as he dive-bombs targets with guns and rockets alight.

That's as far as i got. I need more diverse ideas.

I'm writing a comics script. So, like, I don't really have a concrete idea yet, but I'm thinking there's this homeless guy who's desperate for money, so he becomes the test subject for some new drug, and he gets psychic powers from it as a side-effect, and this totally messes him up.

Oh, and this is completely serious. Alternatively, I was considering writing about a future in which this drug is rapidly falling into common usage, as communication through telepathy is efficient, etc, and this really affects society. Think Internet, but more extreme. Also, mentally traumatizing. In either version, it will definitely have serious psychological effects. I'm thinking I might combine the two ideas. Like, this homeless dude will get psychic powers from the testing of the drug, but it turns out that it was meant to have that effect, and it's part of a scheme by the guy who owns the company that produces it. The scheme, of course, being that he has a monopoly on the drug. People become extremely dependent on it, since the psychic powers are really like an extra sense, so going without the drug results in a sensory deprivation experience. The psychic hobo will try to stop this greedy corporate guy, but will fail, and that'll be half of it. The second part will show how this affects society.

Either way, it'll be very trippy and full of symbolism, if I ever actually make it.

Because Snake forgot.
My graphic novel, Wavelength, takes place in a sprawling metropolis at some point within the next decade. Society has become heavily information-oriented, and as a result, everything is instant, the Internet has overtaken television, and every building is plastered with billboard-like screens. The city is a bright, garish, and loud place, but more and more people are constantly moving into it because there's very little work outside of cities like it, and all of the cities are equally blaring monuments to commercialism. Many people spend most of their lives indoors, because there are entire communities built inside colossal skyscrapers. This will not be unprecedented. Dingen like this is already being planned. Look up "Mubarak al-Kabir Tower" on Wikipedia. Frightening, isn't it?

Setting kind of relates to plot. You have to say where your plot is happening. :wiebel:

Not many ideas, but:

Sven is an accomplished man living in San Francisco, California. He's a millionaire and owner of a company. However, with success, he's become rather arrogant, claiming he can turn any business he touches in a money-making machine without money from his large wealth. Hearing this, a group of eccentric millionaires challenge him to do so with several enterprises that are apparently hopeless.
Of course, for this not to be boring, characters musn't be any archetypes, but I'll look into that later.

:this: Not definite plot.

The Spoiler

Title: Retard and Bear
Plot: Bear, who is chronically hungry, encounters Retard and sets about trying to kill him. Right when Bear believes his trap is going to capture Retard, the Men in White Jackets come and take him away. Enraged, Bear starts a personal war on the Men, which results in his capture, as well. While imprisoned at the Institution, they reconcile their differences, and learn of Kurt Cranium's cruelty to the retards, after which they team up against the Men. A sympathetic guard aids in their escape, and the duo sets a trap for some of the Men.  However, Bear's one-time friend Snowolf tips off the Men, who bring a number of rifles. Bear and Retard escape, but Bear is seriously wounded. Retard goes alone to Snowolf's lair (with the intent to kill him, using a rifle he stole from one of the Men in the fight), only to find Snowolf missing. Retard raids the place, stealing some medical supplies, then knocking in the roof before he leaves. When he returns to Bear's hideout, he sees Snowolf in the distance talking to the Men. After some eavesdropping he determines that Snowolf is being taken in to the Institution as punishment for failing to kill Bear.  Over the next few scenes Retard and bear try to decide their course of action, while Snowolf tries to bargain his knowledge to the guards in return for help in escaping.  One such piece of knowledge is the password to Cranium's office, which reaches Brian Stem's ears.  Fed up with Snowolf, he passes it on to Retard and Bear, who decide it would be fun to let all the retards free.  Retard pulls all the switches that release the Retards (after breaking in with Bear's help), and a riot of sorts ensues. Cranium confronts Bear and Retard during their escape, as he already knew it was  a matter of time before Snowolf squealed. He acts accepting of the Institution's downfall, and promises to turn it over to Bear if he can find and kill Snowolf, who betrayed both of them. At Retard's insistence, Bear agrees, and successfully hunts Snowolf, only to find that Kurt has meanwhile assembled his guards to kill Bear and Retard. A guard walks up behind Bear and holds gun to his head (with his face away from the audience). When Kurt tells him to shoot, he points the gun at Kurt, then proceeds to shoot about half of the other guards. As it turns out, the guard who held Bear at gunpoint was Brian Stem, who heard the riot and knew his friends would need fire support. By this point someone has started a fire and everyone is shooting, so Bear, Retard, and Brian all flee together. The next scene is a dialog at Bear's hideout between them about what has transgressed.  They decide that the only way they can set things right after killing at least a half-dozen people is to restore the Institution and open it as a bona-fide asylum for Retards. The building is in terrible condition, but a number of Retards are wandering around, not knowing what to do with their freedom. Retard convinces them to help in the restoration, in return for the security it will bring them. The play ends with the opening ceremony of the restored Institution, with Bear as director, Brian as Chief of Security, and Retard (who has at least doubled in intelligence since the play began), employed as a communicator between the retards and staff.

A group of vagrants migrate across the galaxy, escaping from the futuristic dystopian state that Earth has become, to start a new life upon a mysterious planet that had been, up until the previous month, made of nothing. [Name Impending] Pyotr is a parent-less youth, who embarked the hijacked Government-owned ship by a stroke of sheer luck, hoping to make something of his-self having no life left for him on "What Was Earth" after his exile from his "Motorbike Gang".

Several weeks pass on the ship when the planet's coordinates change in such a way that the ship crashes headlong into the atmosphere and brings around a quick landing. Being knocked out by falling debris, Pyotr wakes up thousands of miles behind the ship's wreckage for whatever odd reason and decides to look for this ship amongst the deep carve it's made in the immense, arid desert. Finding an unconscious girl along the way, he shoulders the load and trucks along across the desert.

Not needing any nutrients or sustenance, the planet is mysteriously destroying his perception to a point where he can't remember why he's on the planet or where he's going, until finally he and the unconscious girl are ripped from the world, cascading through a time void spewing them hundreds of years into the past, where they become aware of the desolate planet's past. The girl at this point has awaken and helps Pyotr in becoming the large factor that will shape the future of the mysterious planet.

The story then unfolds in such a way that Pyotr desires to bring "his people" into this prosperous land that he's created in the past, and using the "fragrant dust" that brought him into that time, he travels back and attempts to bring the crazed vagrants into the more auspicious past.

The setting mostly takes place on the planet, some scenes on earth, but more-so on the planet.

Oops. My shitty PS3 browser must have tripped on me. Luckily I'm rolling on a laptop again.
Anyhow, I had another idea for a plot:
James is a man who lives isolated from the world. His only world is his shed in the middle of a forest, along with the latter. However one day, a piece of paper flies in his bedroom. Curious about the contents of the mysterious paper(he can't read), he decides to leave his small forest.
There are various genres that could be applied to this. But I'll decide later when I have the definite plot.
