Clock Crew

I'm gonna make a shitty HTML5 game for Clock Day this year, any ideas? I'm thinking of just having basically a rip off of WL4, with 5 levels, you get to the end, then run back with a timer counting down. If anyone wants to share any ideas I'd like to hear them.

Typically speaking music from games, old chiptune in particular, is not liable to get your stuff removed the way commercial music is.

Right, a bit more details. The hub is just this sorta black room. It has RedBook Clock in the corner, who you can give your communist manifestos to, which there is 3 of in each of the 5 stages. You can find Absinthe Clock and NES Clock playing Magic in the corner, and theyr'll be something else in there, idk. You can leave the Home room to go to the level select. This shows you the 5 levels, which go in order:

1. clockcrew.net
2. reddit.com
3. discordapp.com
4. 4chan.org
5. newgrounds.com

The story is super basic, the Lock Leigon have blammed the shit out of B, putting it deep in Newgrounds "Prison Of The Blammed". They've also kidnapped a whole load of Clock Crew people, leaving them in various websites. You (Strawberry Clock) have to go on a short little adventure across the internet to save B from the prison, and save your Clock freinds. Thats it.

Gameplay is basically just WarioLand 4, you run and jump, and get to the end of the level, but once you save the Clock for that stage, a 30 second timer starts ticking down, and you have to run back to the end of the stage as quickly as possible. Platforms will appear and disappear depending on whether the timer is ticking down or not, and this will mean that certain Communist Manifestos will only become obtainable after the timer is activated.

Thats about it, if anyone wants to help in anyway, or ask any questions, feel free.

Its a grand odyssey across the internet. I might still change the 4chan and Discord parts. The Reddit stage is done, its just a bunch of soy boys who act as turrets and shoot bottles of soylent at the player.

I put in the reddit.com stage because I thought it would be funny, and I could get a stage gimmick out of it. I'm not gonna do 4chan because thats easy, but might do some other dumb bullshit website. Whatever I think is kinda funny and would work as a stage, I'll do.

Quick update, I decided to intead of having 5 levels, have 15 levels, with each world being made of 3 stages. The first world is done now, clockcrew.net, being comprised of 3 stages that essentially teach the player the basics of the game, running, jumping, the goal timer, Manifesto collecting, enemies, ect. The reddit.com stage comes after that, but one i think could be really funny is ashleymadison.com. I think that'd be a good laugh.

Progress so far is 5 levels that are completed, playable and beatable, a working level select, a save system with original lines written by GreyClock (thanks!), and a counter that tells you how many of the communist manifestoes you've collected. I'm gonna aim for 50 manifestoes in the game, 45 in the main levels, and I'll find some other way to put more in there, probably through something with RedbookClock in the homeworld.

Just finished the 6th level. I'm gonna do ashleymadison.com next, then I'll find something else to do, then newgrounds.com. Whats Hall Of Bill?

As of now, the game is over 50% complete! ashleymadison.com uses a gimmick where old hookers block the path, so you have to give them money and they disappear, which leads to some exploration based platforming. I just need to finish the 3rd and final stage of ashleymadison.com now. Also, the second act of this world is probably my favourite act in the game, its almost entirely open! The idea I had for world 4 was rule34.xxx, maybe you could fly off the big anime titties, idk, kinda like in Conker? No? Ok. Idk what I'll do then.

Well, I’m of a mind that Clock Day is a special day to release something you’ve put work into specifically for the occasion. It’s nice to have something ready to go for it, but likewise it’s nice to have Clock stuff just come out randomly. If it’s ready for the portal, submit it! You’ve clearly got the drive, you can always make something else.

I am gonna make something else, but its not related to Clock Crew you see. So maybe its better to wait? Also the game is literally called Clock Day 2K19: The Offical Videogame, so it might not make alot of sense.
