The concept itself was pretentious, but its execution was not. It didn't take itself any more seriously than it needed to, the strings didn't over-react, and there was no jarring change in tone.

I actually remember the reason. It was because she was a pretty talented animator for someone her age, and was actively making flash sigs for other members (including, of course, bit himself). For her brief stint with the CC she was very active and eager to improve on her animating skills.

Cryptohominids and some lake and river monsters make some kind of sense. Apes of all stripes are incredibly resourceful, and if the confirmation of the existence of the skunk-ape of Florida (escaped pet chimps from the 70s) and the Congolese Bili Ape (300lb giant chimps of the Bili Forest) has taught us anything, not all of these sightings can be dismissed (though all "wild-man" sightings can be attributed to Native American shamans on their 10 year spirit hermitage). 15-foot long trout in the Canadian wilderness is amazing but hardly impossible, given proper conditions.

Last night I dreamed that I was at a MLP birthday party in a gigantic shopping mall composed entirely out of boring, stodgy offices (no stores or anything). Then Evil Christopher Lloyd came in and ruined everything, and I had to stop him using the hook-up phone-numbers I found on a collection of highly personalized kitchen gas-stoves than belonged to a bunch of really, really gay fursuiters (who were, thankfully, not in the dream in person).
