I'm sure everybody would like to know exactly how and why our democratic process has been undermined, and under what circumstances the populace agreed this could happen, and why those circumstances are apparently applicable now. Why could we have not just had an Admin election?

Even if you are happy with the appointment, I think it would be prudent to let everybody know the answers to these pressing, important questions.

Would also like to know how Albino got admin when he didn't even get enough yes votes on the ballot last time to even get on staff. Also considering how many no votes he got on all his initiatives I question how effective he'll be for the community.

Albino never fucked up before.

Exactly, even if an emergency admin appointment is necessary (and we've been given no reason to believe it is), why albino considering he failure to gain support last election?

I asked Piney to make me admin, as there was no one active to make sure the supermoderators weren't abusing their powers. He did this through the charter, using his ability to ensure the enforcement of the rules of the charter. I'm an administrator at his behest and only as long as he decides I'm doing ok. I'm not going to go making major changes to anything, all I want to do is make sure no staff members use their position to intimidate other users and derail discussion. They're here to keep things from being a mess, not to intimidate other clocks.

I'm sure there will be people who will be skeptical of this, but I hope that I can prove I'm up to the job and won't make a mess of things myself. Piney trusts me enough to give it the green flag, and I don't ask that you trust me, but that you wait to see what happens. I'm sure many of you won't, and I certainly won't retaliate against those who express those opinions. At any rate, have at me.

Obviously there are some concerns about Smod abuse considering all the recent bullshit, but from what I could tell there weren't enough bad vibes about the whole thing to consider it an emergency situation. It seemed to a me a vocal few, I think yourself included (correct me if I'm wrong) were the ones who thought there was a problem with Smod abuse.

Taking your word as fact however, and also taking as fact the need for an emergency Admin, I see no reason that admin should be you.

Furthermore, I see no reason an emergency Admin should not merely be an interim staff member while we conduct an election for a permanent member.

To give him the benefit of the doubt, Piney hasnt been active for a while, certainly not during the recent drama, and the situation could have been conveyed to him as more urgent than it really was

Sorry but this is kind of like John Boehner running the EPA. Also considering how many ways Albino has tried to get back on staff, and the way he's behaved about it in the past I am very suspicious.

concerning albino getting admin, it would have been nice if this was put up to a vote. i know pineapple's purpose is to make sure that people don't get out of line, but administering albino without a vote from the general consensus will just be causing more problems than it would solve, resulting in people getting upset and questioning if the democratic system we put in place even works.
