Growing up, we only had 3 TV channels at my house; CBC, CTV, and Global. At 5pm CBC showed syndicated reruns of The Simpsons which was, by a considerable margin, my favourite show. When the Olympics rolled around they would be going on during the Simpsons timeslot and so it got bumped, not to a later timeslot, but off the schedule until the Olympics were over.
for this reason above all others I dislike the olympics
