Hi man, what's up? Hadn't heard about that, looks pretty cool, maybe a little underwhelming. I played the original enough not to bother with this one though.

Going well, although i had quite a bit of crypto that i sold for almost zero profit back in the fall because i was kinda done with it. I missed out on about 20k on that one lol. OH WELL.

Other than that job's still fun, kid is doing great and we have another one on the way.
Though not being able to go to and/or organize events is becoming a bit of a drag. That was my main thing, last year I've done allot of online-marketing stuff but organizing big launches and events is more my thing. So hopefully that will be back on the table during the summer or something.

You?

I played Shadowlands for a month after I got my new PC, but it was just too frustrating and I quit again. Some of it was fun, everything looked great, but it's just too restrictive in a lot of ways.

Now I'm back to Sudoku and recently online jigsaws? Because apparently I'm sixty years old.

I saw this and immediately thought about you: https://nl.ign.com/diablo-2-remastered/129749/video/diablo-2-resurrected-de-eerste-16-minuten-gameplay-in-4k-60fps

I finishend Control, awesome game. Made by the guys who made the OG Max Payne, Alan Wake & Quantum Break

I wanted to play te DLC, noticed the Ultimate edition (which has raytracing ammong other improvements) was only 4 or 5 euros more than the season pass for the 2 DLC's. So i bought it.
BUT THE FUCKING SAVE GAME WON'T TRANSFER FROM REGULAR TO ULTIMATE.  Meaning i have to play the entire fucking base game again before moving on to the postgame DLC.  Ah wel, it's a fun game.

Looking really forward to the Mass Effect remake comming next month.

Playing Gears Tactics on Series X at te moment, included in gamepass. It's XCOM meets GEARS.  loved both franchises so i'm having a blast.

I have Cyberpunk laying arround on disc, got it at work, but i'm waiting till the first big patches are live. Though apperntly it runs okayisch on Series X.

Two years ago switched jobs to an agency and i am now the Pr & Marketing manager for about 60% of all video games in the Benelux (in practice this means the Netherlands and Flanders, the French speaking parts are covered by the French agencies), working for most developers. We also work for tech companies specialized in gaming hardware, VR, peripherals etc. and we do the marketing for allot of board games, trading card games, movies, music and books. So basically entertainment with a strong focus on (digital and analog) gaming.

Nothing to complain on the home front things neither, bought a house 4 years ago and became a father of a little girl 1,5 years ago.

What about you guys?
Juxtaposition.

Sounds cool, and a 1,5 y/o daughter...?! That's funny. Glad you're doing well. I don't think I have to type out what I'm doing with myself, you can probably make an educated guess.

I saw people being mad because you where mean making a point about people being mean on a internet forum in their mid 30's. That was some layered shit.

Yeah things are well, couple of years ago my life was work + drinking + gaming and repeat, suddenly i'm a functioning adult and family man, who knew. Though i am sometimes nostalgic to those simpler times, having a kid brings allot of worries. Fortunately the home and financial situation are fine, but you are constantly afraid that something might happen to her. Sickness, accidents etc. Never worried like that about myself or anyone else before in my life.

Having little free time can be a bitch though. My backlog of stuff i still need to watch or play keeps getting bigger. Also for some reason having a kid gives people carte blanche to ask "when's the second one coming?"  which i pretty annoying.

Working from home is the shit. I'm getting paid right now. You can walk around, take your pants off, get food, take shits, pet cat. No commute, log off and hop right into bed.

Also, please schedule it, because I'm not actively on discord checking for stuff or whatever.

I'm at the office like usual. Fortunately we expanded the office space just before Covid so we have plenty of space, that combined with the fact that all employee's using public transport do have to work from home, so maintaining a 1,5m 'safe' distance is no problem.  If i want i can work from home, do it once or twice a week, but i prefer the office considering we have a 1,5 years old running around at home. I have an home office on the top floor, but i tend to get distracted allot faster at home.  Plus i like the office, big desk, free coffee and fun co-workers. We've started live-streaming our break FIFA/Mario Kart battles on Twitch so co-workers from home can follow the banter.

Did work from home full time during the first lock down, for a couple of weeks at least. But i noticed the work time and free time kinda blurred and i was never 'really' working or 'really' chilling, just doing both half and half all the time. Plus my GF has a so called 'crucial' job as a teacher and had to go to work anyway, so i was stuck at home with a 1 year old at that time. Which surprisingly doesn't increase efficiency.

Art... and the history thereof.

So how did this turn out?
About as well as you'd expect. Still working at the call center. That said, I was going to at least start looking for a different job, but then corona happened. I also read that the sector took a 1 billion euro hit so far, so I'm not that optimistic. Plus my current job is fine. Nice hours, get to sleep late, easy. I'm not that bothered.

or "fuck you"

God every time I come back here this is still somehow towards the top. I hope Bio isn't dead. Let's see he was 32 when I was 14 and I'm 31 now. In a year I'll be just as old as he was when I joined. Bio would be 49 or maybe 50 right now if he is still around. And Atomic/Zen is most likely 58 by now. Anyone ever hear from him anymore?

Nothing creepy about some old guys hiding behind a clockfaced avatar chatting up 14 year old boys.

Back when forums were exciting places to go and ASCII signatures were cool as fuck. When newgrounds mattered and we were super active. Everyone had AIM. Diablo 2 and Warcraft 3 were the best games ever. BB10 didn't exist. Just that feeling I had every time I got on my computer, I miss that.

I spend so many hours playing WC3. In my mind its still one of the best games ever, not sure if im going to play the remake cause it can only dissapoint to be honest.

I don't get the Bioshock infinite hypetrain, it was a good game but not that great. I enjoyed the first one more tbh. Still it didn't ruin the franchise like Mass Effect Andromeda did, holy shit what a mess that was.

As clocks, can we have one conversation about the perception of time?
Seriously, fuck time. Going away for a day or so to have nice time? Hang out, have dinner, drink a few beers, stay over? You leave home, take a shit, and boom you're back again putting away your toothbrush it feels like.

Maybe doing absolutely nothing for a year fucked me up, but this is horrible.

Yeah apparently it gets worse and worse as you grow older, considering an hour wil mean less and less relative to all the hours you already had.  Stuff that hapend last november feels like yesterday for some reason.
