I got a log of bologna this week instead of buying the pre-sliced packages. The packs of thick slice bologna have 5 slices in them and are about $4, so two of those will get me through a pay period. This log, on the other hand, was $10, and I got about 23 slices out of it. So for 2 dollars in the difference, I have a months worth of sandwich meat instead of a fortnights.

I just watched Molly's Game and my take away was that Jessica Chastain is very attractive

Truthfully, It was an engaging movie, although I was pretty disappointed by the lack of actual poker-playing on display. I was hoping for some Casino Royale style sequences, but it was mostly a lot of fast edits of people winning and losing. Molly herself isn't a terribly likable protagonist, but you see where she's coming from and understand her motivation. Not sure if i'd recommend it but there you go.


I also saw Jumanji this past week because my Mother wanted to see it for her birthday. I was baffled by the fact that it was pretty alright. A competent, fast paced, adventure film with some nice jokes, decent action, and serviceable performances from the entire cast. Good movie for kids, id say. Enjoyed it more on the whole than Star Wars.

I'm part of a streaming community, so that keeps me pretty up to date. Talking to a lot of different people about movies loans itself to finding a bunch to watch. That said, I watched Molly's Game because of a trailer for it that played before Star Wars when I saw that in theatres.

Dear Livejournal, today was pretty fuckin horrible


I went over to my buddy's last night with the intention of heading out to the pool hall. There was a group of about 8 of us and we were waiting for this one guy to show up with his new girlfriend, so it was getting on midnight and we hadn't made it in town yet. I tend to get a little awkward in social settings with people im not close friends with so I was drinking a little faster than I should have been and ended up getting the spins. I knew I wasn't gonna last the night so i went off to the side and called myself a cab home but I ended up losing my lunch before I left. Embarrassing.

So to follow that up, I went to work today hung over, obviously, and that's always a bad time. Felt myself by around noon.

2:00 break rolls around and this fella I work with asks me if I could run him to the corner store so he can buy a pack of cigarettes. I said sure, and, long story short, slid on some slush and put my truck off the road. Fortunately, the snowbank along the side stopped me going into the ditch itself. If it hadn't had been so soft or as high as it was, im sure I would have friggin' rolled it. Thankfully, buddy was fine, my truck took no damage, and i was fine. Had about 15 cars pulling over asking if we were alright and all this, and after I called a tow truck this guy in a Sierra 2500 pulls up and asks if he could do anything for us. I said 'you got a rope?' he goes 'yep' and hooked er up and dragged me out, easy as that. Tried giving him $20 for the favour and he wouldn't take it. What a saint.
