the bar was low. i can't believe how shitty some of the stuff that was acceptable to me as a teenager was, but i guess that's teenagers

weird to think that when jungle girl came out, in an era when video content was all potato resolution, there wasn't even that much adult-content Flash from people who could draw. NG's official Adult collection was, like, the canon, but so much of that stuff was way hornier than it was sexy. so much struggle porn (6,000,000 impressions) that even a game like Jungle Girl, which was just basic cartoon nudity and some penetration character sprite animations, could distinguish itself. if Patreon had existed for Jungle Girl's creator at the time, it could have become an "ongoing development" gravy train, if the creator didn't lose interest. but Jungle Girl would be the struggle porn if it came out today; even if tentacles were your fetish, it'd hardly make a splash within a deluge of 3d animated loops of video game characters fucking. crazy that there'd be so much demand for Flash erotica but such slim pickings back then. maybe because only furries and fetishists were drawing anything, when photos and video torrents were so widely available? or was it just that most of the West had no exposure to "ero game" culture, except through the (d)weebs who attempted Japanese-style dating sims in Flash? (...unfinished, or with endearingly primitive traced art, or terrible dialogue and gameplay? again, the bar was super low, says a guy who never accomplished anything ambitious...)

i sometimes wonder about the people behind the personas that put adult content out on the internet... sometimes they have a "career" of a few years and fall off the face of the planet, and it's like, did they die, or did they maybe just stop being so horny, get a job or a girlfriend, and kill the horny alterego? the girlfriend seems unlikely but who knows
