it's really funny that the release of the bloober team silent hill 2 remake was followed by an extremely long awkward silence because nobody knew how to deal with the fact that it wasn't terrible. it was like 4 days before anyone on my radar was like "uh fellas? is it me or is this kind of... good, so far?"

The only negative discourse I've heard on the silent hill 2 remaster was that they've added too many enemies thusly forcing the deliberately lacklustre combat mechanics to the forefront

I'm still not too impressed. every design change in it sounds like a poor one, leading to a high definition, highly reviewed, but still inferior quality experience compared to the original. but it isn't complete shit when everyone expected a complete disaster and they didn't fuck the original directly like the old HD port that removed the fog and original voice acting so it's an 8/10 by modern standards. hell, even without the expectations. that's just where we're at.  I'll stick with the original I think. PCSX2 is really good nowadays. of course I only play with my own legal backups made from my own copy I also obtained legally (from gamestop). remember when PCSX2 wasn't that great? horrible times, those. unless you had a hard drive installed in your console like I did. filled with ONLY THE MOST LEGALLY OBTAINED BACKUPS AND HOMEBREW MIND YOU. honestly only ever played the original game on original hardware but it was the original release so it didn't have the born from a wish thing on it. guess I should play that.

a risk with waiting is that three people make a huge difference right now and i don't know that's going to change, but if it's christmas i think i could justify bribing twenty people in the discord to all vote for the same thing and they get a month of premium out of it
