i kind of cheated for the V but it was Halfdan carvd this post. I don't know if you're aware of the legend of Halfdan, but he carves runes and isn't scared of extremely rickety ladders so he's pretty much my role model

Ohhhhh, that makes sense. Halfdan sounded familiar so I figured I had it right, but I couldn't figure out that tricky v thing.

I don't know that particular alphabet and I'm too tired to figure the rest out.

hey, so, we have ants, but the ants are like stupid as fuck?

you know how normally they kinda send out scouts to sniff out food, and if they find it they make a line and you can kinda use that to find out how they're getting in?
these ones aren't doing that
they just wander around aimlessly and do weird shit like like gather under a kitchen sponge by the hundreds and just... sorta hang out there

it makes them incredibly frustrating to deal with because their behavior makes no sense

my mom says it means the colony died and these are just whatever's left sort of meandering around without purpose
I'm not sure if that's a real thing

what is this
anybody ever had to deal with shitty idiot ants that suck?

I get "sugar ants" every spring, and this year they were acting a bit like this. Usually they come up from a very specific spot under my stove, so after I clean their trails really well for a few days, they thin out. This year, they kept finding new routes, and sometimes there was no food for them so they just wandered, as you say. They also congregated under my dish sponge a few times. I kind of figured they may have been getting water? Do they do that? *shrug*

OK so

the most recent episode of the simpsons had bill cipher make a cameo for a few seconds:

and now the gravity falls fans are gonna unconsciously persuade disney to renew the simps for more seasons

I watched Gravity Falls for the first time this summer and I loved it! Mabel is the best. I won't hear any Mabel slander so don't even try it.

also apparently No Time to Die is doing really well, the best box office of the pandemic

people were saying it wouldn't because it had so many delays, but I never lost faith.

Same. I'd wait forever for Ana de Armas. :o

I only glanced, but a Burnout game beating Crono Trigger was another highlight

Yeah, that one infuriated me. And I can't help but think that the type of person to vote on these polls is the dumb, toxic gamerbro that likes to gatekeep the hobby from people who they think don't know anything about games. And then they vote for fucking Burnout 2 over Chrono Trigger. The brackets were set up really dumb, too, tho. Why don't games compete against like games early on? Why put Chrono Trigger against a racing game and Persona 5 against a platformer? They're both JRPGs, so let us decided which is the "better" JRPG before then moving on to a wholly different genre.

Quote from: Slurpee on September 27, 2021, 03:31:08 AMI had a similar moment when I was in my 20's and realized that I was, by definition, older than the teenage mutant ninja turtles

sat there for a minute going "I'm older than buffy the vampire slayer, scott pilgrim, tim drake, all of the mighty morphin power rangers... how did this happen? science can ot explin this"

the weirdest one was realizing that, when I played final fantasy 6, I was younger than Gau, and I was now closer in age to Setzer (and in absolutely no sense a dirigible pilot)
idk why that one stuck out to me. for some reason, and in some sense this is still true, when I think about ff6 I think of "myself" as 12 years old, because I just have no adult experiences that override how I saw it through those eyes

anyway, I don't think I'm alone when I say that as a child the ninja turtles lifestyle felt aspirational
and I was like "damn, guess I missed that boat"

but it turns out, they really were behaving more like 20-something mutant ninja turtles the whole time, and I was bound for a sweet life of hanging out with bros and doing martial arts and watching tv and eating pizza after all

I guess the moral of the story is, it's never too late to be a ninja turtle

I'm Michelangelod.

I get what you're saying, but I'm also also hyper aware (like you were) that in a lot of the cartoons/anime/whatever that star teens, there always an "old guy" that's like 34. They're like "come on, pops, get with the times." And they're not even joking. And when I was like 13 I, too, was like "yeah, old man, shut your wrinkly mouth." And now it me. I am the wrinkly mouth.

as long as you don't believe something like Freddie couldn't really happen, you can be a good guy

You almost got me with that double negative. Not this time, Krueger!

I grew up with the Nightmare on Elm Street series. I'm watching part 3 now, and I just realized I'm five years older than the psychiatrist in the movie. Growing up, he was the "old guy.". And I'm five. Years. Older.

I can't confirm for sure, but the closest I've heard to an official confirmation was,

at some point between 2005 and 2010, the CarrotClock account on newgrounds was (without the knowledge of me or whatever other squares were nominally in charge at the time) compromised by a group of then-current members of the Clock Crew, for shenanigans. to the surprise of said group of delightful rascals, nobody at Newgrounds had a problem with this, because Carrot has always been multiple people

I knew it. I'm takin' the W. In your face, littlegoodron.

for a while that was what everyone pointed to when they said carrot was Tom, because it totally has the feel of one of his games

Can we talk about this? I was reading that article in prep for something I recorded with bigbadron yesterday, and he absolutely insisted that Carrot actually was Tom. Nonsense, I said, total nonsense. He's not, right?

Bringing this image back

Started watching Riverdale again, season 3 is a gigantic train wreck even after how awful season 2 was, even with how bad season 1 was in mind

There's this whole thing about a cult, an ongoing intrigue about 'Gryphons & Gargoyles' which is painful to watch, playing with the satanic panic sort of idea about D&D being a gateway to occultism that kicks off with Dilton fucking dying by drinking a chalice of poisoned """Fresh-Aid""", Ronnie is running a non-alcoholic 'speakeasy' underneath Pop Tate's for no reason, Archie goes to Juvie and ends up in an underground fighting circuit, every character has become incredibly insufferable and practically nothing happens in any given episode despite all these ridiculous storylines.

I gotta get back to watching that show. As I watched season 1, I kept thinking "wow, this is actually pretty good. Much better than I expected." In season 2 and 3, I kept thinking "wow, okay, it just keeps getting worse," I just wanted to keep watching. And then I ran out of episodes.

Oh snap. Is it going to be ready for tomorrow?
