Quote from: salt;1516001a nice introduction to MF DOOM's idea of himself being a villain
jesus christ dude hiphop musicians have been using the term villain for the past billion years it isnt specific to doom and has been used a whole lot before him.
in that other thread didnt you diss eminem or 50 or whatever for stealing mf dooms idea of being a villain wtf man srsly

not denying wutang being east coast, but thats later shit that despite being east coast hiphop doesnt exemplify the east coast sound as much as the oldschool dudes do, because those oldschool dudes defined the east coast sound and wutangs hardcore rap is far from it
and dont get me wrong, im not calling wutang dumb or anything they have some of the most amazing lyricists ever

slurpee whats with that distinction between eastcoast hiphop and rap thats just dumb, like saying blue aint a colour just cause you like it more
also i wouldnt say wutang exemplify east coast, if they exemplify anything its hardcore rap
think grandmaster flash, afrika bambataa, run dmc etc. for east coast

Quote from: SeedClock;1503729i would, although considerably more mild mannered and underground than what weve come to expect gangster rap to be, it is still, rap about crimes and breaking the law, the main idea of gangster rap
dude gangster rap is a west coast hiphop trend glorifying violence and crime...
aw hell just listen to that inspectah deck verse on cream and get back to me on whether you consider them even slightly gangster aight
