I'm spending Thanksgiving at my friend's place, as he is home from Virginia. I was in the supermarket yesterday thinking of what I could provide. A simple Google search on my phone landed me with this recipe (http://www.marthastewart.com/312972/winter-squash-dip). I love butternut squash and chipotle peppers so it automatically appealed to me. I wasn't sure how the combination would turn out and actually expected it to be quite horrific, but it is fucking delicious!
Canada already HAD Thanksgiving
Yeah we're talking about the real one. You can go back to your poutine and being ungrateful.

I'd rather be HAVING a holiday to celebrate than to already have HAD it.
Plus, what do are you guys really thankful for? The last I heard your natives were shitting in mall plants in Winnipeg malls. At least we secluded ours in small camps after introducing them to booze and smallpox.

That looks delicious.
Nothing fancy at my family's house. Personally looking forward to the sweet potatoes w marshmallows. It's like candy as a side dish!
ps.. suck it canada
It's all about the pies. And stuffing.
Pumpkin Pie
Pecan Pie
Upside-down apple pie
Turkey, cranberry sauce, REAL stuffing, hopefully some sweet-potato dish. green beans with crunchy onions and probably mashed taters too. Pretty much your standard fare.
Just wanted to let you all know that the dip I made was probably the most talked about dish at the party. A lot of people who dislike butternut squash actually loved it! It really tastes like your average dip with a splash of sweetness, a touch of fall and a little bite to follow up. I added a bit of extra chipotle though, just because I love the flavor it gives. I'd definitely make this recipe again and recommend it to anybody who wants to try it. It takes about 2 hours to make, but it was well worth it.
