I've been getting pretty deeply into astrology readings lately to the point where I have alot of people coming to me to have their charts read even though I am by no means a professional and do not charge money. As a whole though, I'm very aware of the fact that astrology is still largely considered a "fantasy-science" (like so many "esoteric" schools unfortunately) and has a terrible reputation due especially to newspaper horoscopes and other general and inaccurate "Sun-Sign" based readings.
The more I study astrology the more it becomes evidently extremely elaborate, complicated and sophisticated. It not only amazes but also bewilders me that ancient cultures were able to understand and chart so much of our galaxy without any modern scientific equipment. You can spend eight years in a University for this stuff and even then only understand it on a mundane level. I am certainly a neophyte at best.
So in an effort to spread awareness that astrology is not a total hoax I will be sending anyone interested a basic overview** of their birth chart. This interpretation will be incomparably more accurate than anything you will read in a newspaper. A newspaper only considers your sun sign (therefore 1 in 12 people would be the same) but these interpretations will include many more (completely required) factors such as the other planets. Without at least the sun, moon and rising sign you simply cannot get a clear energetic interpretation for a personality.
**These readings will be interpreted by a computer. At the moment I do not have the free-time to do deeper chart readings which take me several hours per person. (and are aimed at "uncovering and making aware the wounds caused in childhood that restrict us from our full potential." I usually use this tool in a type of psychological counseling following the work of Carl Jung and so far people have responded positively beyond my expectations. )
If you are interested I need the following: birthday / birth time / birth place

You are most likely a Sagittarius-Rising (in the time-frame you gave me) but if you were born closer to six you are a Capricorn-Rising instead. It would be easy to discern because a Sagittarius-Rising has high energy, exuberance, compulsiveness (or at least is attracted to that) where as a Capricorn-Rising is cautious and self-contained. I will send you both interpretations anyways.

Also. Keep in mind when your reading these you often have to put all the pieces together like a puzzle. Thats why people get paid to do this and computers only are partially helpful. There may be some information that contradicts, however, people also tend to have contradictions in themselves. My advice to you to help you interpret is to see what level of your personality things occur on. You may have a Moon heavily receiving influence from Pluto making your emotions powerful and seemingly uncontrollable and yet have a Capricorn Sun and rising making you appear cool and calmed on the outside. This aspect could even mean that you aren't aware of your emotions at all. You will have to do some discerning yourself, but if you are unclear or confused about something or if something seems downright inaccurate you may let me know and I will quickly see if I can spot the reason for confusion. I will be honest if there's something beyond me, that happens too.

A bunch of the stuff in the major life themes was pretty accurate. Not the natal report. Nice bit about skepticism you worked in there though.
So how much of this do you write and what do you base it on?

So... who's info did you send me then?
I'm not writing any of this, it is all computer generated which is why it requires your own discernment to piece it all together. It takes me hours to do a single person's chart. The chart you sent out was the most spread out (which is good usually because it may indicate balance) so it would be the most difficult to discern.
Also if you do not have the exact birth time you are bound to get innacurate information. You may have a fairly good idea of the planets in the zodiac (the actual influencing energy) but the houses (the areas and channels the energy flows through) will not be.
My ass's info. I was expecting that I'd get an analysis that more or less described me based on what you already know about me, and that seems to pretty much be what I got.

ChartGeneral OverviewGeneral Life ThemesThe deeper you study a chart the more tough shit / suppressed pains / childhood trauma comes up into awareness to be confronted and then healed. Obviously I have not looked into a chart deeper then my own and I'll tell you a few interesting things I've found.
Firstly, my ascendant is exact on the cusp of Gemini and Cancer and the ascendant is largely responsible for how we physically appear. Well the cancer archetype is "the mother" where as gemini is definitely a masculine sign with the archetype of "the trickster". Well, 'lo and behold all down my whole body one half of me is different from the other. My smile is always crooked, my eyes are different color and my "cancer-side" has a bigger hip. Everyone always tells me they prefer my "cancer-side" too as always looks the most affectionate. Fitting, considering Cancer is known for being loving and nurturing like a mother.
Also, my Jupiter is conjunct my Chiron in my first house of personality. This means that I never fit in with my culture or any "normal behavior" patterns. It also indicates a fascination with another culture, which in my case certainly did manifest with my obsession with Hinduism and India a few years back.
A big thing too is my Sun in the 12th house. This often indicates a father who was never present or who died early in my childhood. It forces the native to find the "father figure" elsewhere. Well for me, my father was so emotionally distant and so quiet I never got to know him! This actually caused a major trauma throughout my life that I am still dealing with to this day. It has caused me to misunderstand masculinity, and although I have no bi-tendancies at all I have always been able to relate closer to girls and my closest friends have always been girls.
I love this stuff its so fascinating! Every person is so incredibly beautiful and it just gets more and more beautiful the deeper it goes!

I mean this is like ok for maybe your general chart and sun moon and rising but it doesn't give very much information. The way it interprets the N. Node I also would say is misleading. I know I am also just punching in data in software but I've acquired in my opinion the best astrology software available. It does a very nice job of explaining not only the different planets and houses but also the aspects (which that website doesn't include) which are very important. The life themes section is also all about aspects.
I would not call this stuff an "astrology reading" I am just pulling information interpreted from professional software so that people who are skeptical about astrology can gather that there may be legitimacy to it.!
Uh, that place does include the planets, or at least it did back when I did them. :U
There's no legitimacy to astrology, it can produce those moments of "woah, that is totally spot on! holy crap!" but this in my view is more an issue with societal molding.
Someone did a legit chart for me at birth, I'm a triple fire, HOLLLLAAAAAA.

I said that it doesn't have any planetary aspects or any house explanations for that matter! You have to put these pieces together like a puzzle and more then half the pieces are missing from that website unless your a perfect astrologer who can look at the charted sky and decipher it.
Have you ever paid attention to transits? Have you studied peoples Pluto or Saturn transits on a persons natal chart throughout time? This stuff is not in anyway "societal molding". You are dealing with powerful energies above in the sky and below in yourself and they will present themselves to you in your life in any number of ways. Astrology is not a tool meant for "magically guessing the person" it is meant to understand the complex energetic system that is life and learn how to best deal with, approach and channel those energies/situations/emotions.

question: can we convert the sky energy into electricity (i'm assuming by "powerful energies above in the sky and below in yourself" you're not talking about sunlight and metabolism) and if so what kind of emissions would we be looking at if we converted the sky energy into electricity
and, follow-up question: if it can't be, how and when did you discover the only energy known to man that can't be converted to other forms of energy, and how is it detected, isolated, and measured
final question, if it can't be, detected, isolated, and measured, doesn't that make it, by definition, hypothetical?
I ask because I have a budding interest in

Im gonna be honest, a lot of mine is pretty accurate.
QuoteWarm, loving, and generous in your affections, you inspire tremendous devotion and loyalty in your loved ones. This is good, since you would never settle for anything less! You want to be adored and worshipped like the king or queen that you feel you are, and it is difficult for anyone to resist the warmth and attention you lavish on those you care about. You have a great deal of pride and need to be recognized and appreciated. The way to really hurt your feelings is to ignore you. You are genuine, sincere, and have a strong sense of personal integrity. You hate emotional games and dishonesty.
QuoteYou have a flair for language, playing with words, speaking, writing, or teaching in an entertaining and informative way. You also enjoy meeting new people, conversing and learning a little bit about them, and you work well with the public.
QuoteYou have powerful emotional attachments to the past, your family, your childhood, those places you associate with safety and security and your beginnings. Maintaining a connection with your roots and heritage and keeping family bonds strong are very important to you.
QuoteYou are a wonderful lover, very attentive to the comfort and enjoyment of the one you love. You are tremendously responsive to beauty and physical appearances, and the physical attractiveness of your partner is very important to you.
QuoteYou have a warrior's attitude - decisive, courageous, and bold. You tend to always want to DO something, even when waiting for an appropriate time or not doing something (simply letting things alone to resolve themselves) would actually be more efficient and effective. You absolutely cannot tolerate being passive or even patient about getting what you want. You feel that it is up to you to take the initiative and you go after your goal or desire very aggressively.
QuoteOrdinary life often seems drab and uninteresting to you and you must have something that stirs your imagination, some vision or ideal or dream to motivate you. You have a strong urge to act out your fantasies or to live your dream, and you will DO things that others only talk about or dream about. Artistic creation, drama, or other areas in which you can express yourself imaginatively are excellent for you.
ive decided this owns
Your opinion is that planets and the cosmos have a direct impact on the personal developement of an individual, that's fine. My opinion is that that is a whole load of shit perpetuated by a lack of scientific answers on the subjects pertaining to the human condition, not saying that there currently exist any ultimately satisfactory answers just that the lack of them and the refusal to use the ockham's razor principle gives rise to this exact sort of thing.
Astrology is fun but it's by no means, in my opinion, something that anyone in their right mind should pour themselves into with any degree of seriousness.
Honestly once we start getting into a serious tone on astrology it just strikes me as being a horribly insulting thing, in the vein of the theorists that insist our ancestors couldn't have possibly done most of what they did and that it had to have been aliens. "no you're not you because of how you've lived, you're you because the skies and cosmos dictated and continue to dictate how you are and will be", fuck that shit buddy.
E: ultimately it doesn't really matter, You're not converting me and I'm not converting you.
Uhh how can I do that? You didn't re-do my chart.
Quote from: Buttplug;1914815bunk
http://skeptoid.com/episodes/4173 Quote from: Brian DunningEven Western astrology with its reliable twelve signs of the zodiac has a serious flaw. Each sign of the zodiac is 30Ã,° wide (1/12 of our 360Ã,° view of the sky). The precession of the Earth's axis causes our view of the heavens to change over time, and the zodiac used by most astrologers is now wrong by 24Ã,°. This means that about 80% of people who have been raised with the understanding that they are of a given birth sign are actually of the preceding sign. My birth date pegs me as a Capricorn, but according to the constellations, I'm actually a Sagittarius. Some astrologers correct for this; others don't. Again, they can't all be right.
QuoteThe strong and the weak atomic forces only have a range the size of an atomic nucleus.
Gravity has an incredibly long range: You are, right now, being affected by the gravity of Neptune. But you're being affected by the gravity from your computer mouse much more. And from your chair even more. And from that person standing in the room even more. Gravity vectors are cumulative. You're not being pulled this way and that way; those vectors add up to a single direction. You cannot decode a gravity vector to determine there was x amount of pull from this direction, and x amount of pull from that direction. Rearranging the furniture in your room has a gravitational effect on you orders of magnitude higher than the positions of the planets. The moon is the only celestial body that has a significant gravitational effect on us, but most astrological systems give it little or no significance.
Electromagnetism is the last of the four forces. None of the planets have magnetic fields strong enough to effect us here on Earth. Jupiter's field is the biggest and strongest, but even that is negligible. The sun is the overwhelming electromagnetic source in the solar system, blasting everything else away, but yet again, the sun is not much of a factor in most astrological systems.
In astrology only the planets, which do not have any effect on us, are assigned all the responsibility for all cosmic influence upon us.
I don't really know about this more detailed chart thing, but when it comes to generic run-of-the-mill horoscope type stuff, I really gotta roll my eyes. Like, this Twitter account: https://twitter.com/TScpLeo/status/230251731454414848 My fiancee is a Leo. This shit would have you believe she's confident, arrogant, and outgoing. She has floundering self-esteem, loves to undersell herself, and is about as antisocial as it gets. So some horoscope stuff is just plain wrong. When it's not being flat out wrong, it does this irritating trick where it makes a statement, but tries to back out of it immediately after by qualifying it in the opposite way. For instance: https://twitter.com/TScpLeo/status/231663841698795520 They like to show off! But what if they don't like to show off? Well, it's subtle. This way everyone reading it can be like, "Okayyy... Yeah I do that!" I also feel like the way in which they're written is almost commanding people to believe them. "Aries are playful and youthful." I'm not being asked if I am, I'm being told that I am. And I don't like it by jove.
Quote from: BoomStick Clock;1914852"no you're not you because of how you've lived, you're you because the skies and cosmos dictated and continue to dictate how you are and will be", fuck that shit buddy.
That's not how astrology works nor how it should be understood. Maybe you should stop trying to inform me on how astrology works and "dictates how you are and will be" when you have an extremely skewed understanding of astrology in the first place? It does not "dictate" your personality any more then a mirror dictates your physical appearance. It is a tool used to understand cosmic energy patterns. It may be nice to familiarize yourself and understand the fundamental life situations/energies/emotions that you're dealing with before you live your life, gain more experience and grow and transform.
Astrology is entirely about growth and transformation (evolution) not the opposite (determinism). I follow Evolutionary Astrology which
does give proper credit to your ancestors, family and upbringing...
actually it is entirely about your past and upbringing! Just do yourself a solid and stop saying you have any knowledge in a field you evidently havn't studied at all! This is just more information coming from non-astrologers who think they have an understanding. The astronomer who pointed out the 13 constellations didn't even consider the whole astrology thing until internet-news-reporters got ahold of the story and it was blown to viral proportions. Fascinating that it was possible for that to happen considering that the position of the constellations in the sky has nothing to do with the dividing of the 360 degree circle into the 12 zodiac. Let this be about people using their own discretion and skepticism after they have the actual information. Not before. Not basing your prejudice off of newspaper horoscopes and sticking only to that horrible and inaccurate information. That is what I'm trying to fix. There are reasons astrology has been put under for so long. Mostly religious bigots. Religious bigots still have alot of control in this world believe it or not. But the reputation will change as soon as people are allowed the opportunity to see this stuff actually works in a logical and accurate way.

I read your first post, and like I said in my post, I'm not talking about the charts you're discussing, just what irks me about the way Astrology is presented. If anything, I was trying to be supportive of what you're bringing to the table, since people are dismissing it because of it's relationship to what I was talking about. I was agreeing with them that some astrology was clear bullshit, in an attempt to divert some of the heat off of your OP, and maybe steer the conversation in a direction where we could better contrast the 5 cent horoscope from a detailed reading.
Also, the ClockCrew is where threads go to get derailed.
EDIT: I re-read my post and I didn't really talk about the birth charts much, so I apologize for bashing astrology in general.
DOUBLE EDIT: Not to say I myself am particularly taken with it. Just that I can't speak for the validity of those birth charts.
Quote from: F U Clock;1914870I read your first post, and like I said in my post, I'm not talking about the charts you're discussing, just what irks me about the way Astrology is presented.
True. Its inevitable, but we'll see how long it lasts :P
Ok yes I understand and I agree. The issue is that even what I am presenting in this thread is still highly mundane astrology. Its just the very basic basics, so yes it still appears very much like "this is who you are. You are a Mars-Arian". That is the misleading part.
Actually the way I find it most useful is when somebody comes to me dealing with an intense emotional problem and they don't know what the root cause of the issue is. Its really helpful at getting to the root fundamental energies that create situations/emotions in our lives. Somebody may be super anxious but may not know whether that anxiety is occurring on a mental, emotional, spiritual, developmental, or relationship level. There are so many different changes that happen throughout life that cause us suffering and force us to transform! This practice can make for a handy tool to decipher what areas of life are being influenced and how to best direct our awareness to bring healing to different aspects of ourselves. If the pain we are dealing with has roots in our childhood or family life, wouldn't that be nice to know?
And furthermore, when I work with clients its never "Well this is how it is. It's your girlfriend!" It's more like "Well astrology suggests this pain could come from your past and it is linked with your mother, did you have issues with your mother you are dealing with now?" and the client is usually pleasantly surprised and relieved in
finding something they actually already knew (at least subconsciously) and are simply getting reconfirmation on what they already know and the direction they already know they need to head in.
lol @ this thread
QuoteCautious, prudent, and rather self-contained, you are a person who approaches life realistically and who is not inclined to take foolish chances or get carried away by the overly optimistic or idealistic schemes of starry-eyed dreamers. In fact, you frequently have a jaundiced view of such things. You are rather worldly-wise at a fairly young age, even something of a cynic. Often the world doesn't seem like a safe, friendly place to you, and you tend to approach life in a guarded, conservative manner. You are generally calculating and careful, and are rarely spontaneous, fluid, open, and childlike.
Okay
QuoteYou are pragmatic, shrewd, and an excellent strategist, carefully planning your moves for maximum effectiveness and advantage. You are willing to work long and persistently for what you want and you often do things the hard way. You do not expect others to take care of you and sometimes refuse or simply don't seek any outside help. You are often very ambitious, but quietly so. There is nothing flamboyant or flashy about your approach. You are very responsible, conscientious, and very concerned with your duties to others and how you appear in society, your "rank" so to speak.
I am lazy, easily distracted, and frequently abandon plans. I almost never do things "the hard way" if there is a way that I think is easier and equally effective. I do not give a fuck for social "rank", and how dedicated I am to "my duties to others" depends largely on my own interests and how much I care about the person in question.
QuoteTo others you seem mature, serious, quiet, reflective, and emotionally detached. You dislike sloppy sentimentality and won't openly display your feelings, especially the softer ones. You like to always appear poised and in control and hate to show any weakness, vulnerability, or chinks in the armor.
Okay, I guess. I'm pretty quiet a lot of the time and I don't frequently get emotional. I'm not really sure what's meant by "sloppy sentimentality", but I have certainly been more than happy to display feelings of love, happiness, or anger. I'm pretty sure *most* men hide sadness if they can manage it, as we've been trained to do so.
QuoteYou respect tradition and the time-honored way of doing things, and you feel there is much to be gained from studying history and also by learning from older, more experienced people. A wise mentor or father is often your guide in life, and you in turn develop a great deal of hard-earned wisdom which you like to impart to younger people.
I give zero fucks about tradition. History is much more often a demonstration of folly than it is a demonstration of what should be done. Most of my learning has been independent, I've never had a "wise mentor or father" to guide my life. I've got my own back.
QuoteYou have a stern, authoritarian, no-nonsense aspect to your personality. You expect much from yourself and may not give yourself enough room to experiment and make mistakes.
That can be taken in so many ways that it's more or less meaningless.
QuoteYou also tend to be rather close-fisted, to save and conserve your money and resources rather than spending, enjoying, or splurging with them. You spend money on things of quality and of lasting value, things which are good investments, but not frivolous, temporary pleasures. There is a bit of the ascetic in you. You have great self-discipline and self-control and can "do without" very well. Your tastes are generally understated and simple.
I blow all my money on drugs and beer.
QuoteThough you may have other, more colorful and imaginative sides, the face you show the world is modest and rather conservative.
Maybe this is sort of the case now, but it sure as hell wasn't always the case. Y'all have seen my old haircut.
QuoteSun in Virgo:
At heart you are modest and humble, and you rarely strive to be in the limelight or in a position of power. You have a sharp analytical mind, a keen eye for detail, and you prefer to observe, dissect, and study life from a distance. Conscientious and conservative, you can be relied upon to be careful, efficient, and thorough in your work and you take pride in doing a job well. What you may lack in self-confidence you often make up for in skill - developing expertise, technical knowledge, and competency in some specialized area. You are adept at using your hands to create or fix things, and meticulous attention to detail and careful craftsmanship are your forte. Some would say you are a little TOO meticulous, for you can be extremely critical and petty if everything is not done exactly as you think it should be, and you worry about things that other people consider trivial and unimportant. You like to organize, categorize, and arrange everything into a logical system, and you are often distinctly uncomfortable when something does not fit into a neat category. Disorganization vexes you. You probably wish that you were not such a perfectionist, for besides being a stickler for details, you can be mercilessly self-critical as well. Whether in your environment or in yourself, you tend to focus on the flaws, with a desire to improve, refine, and perfect. You are strictly factual, truthful, and scrupulously honest in your self-estimation, and you often do not give yourself enough praise or credit.
Again, a mix of nonsense and somewhat accurate predictions. I actually love running shit. I'm certainly not what I would call meticulous, and disorganization doesn't bother me at all. My room is a fucking mess right now and I used to give my FLAs file names like "00000ASDFSFSFS".
QuoteYou are also highly discriminating and may be especially particular about your diet, hygiene, and health habits. You have high aesthetic standards and refined sensitivities, and will be bothered by elements in your surroundings (such as disorder, cigarette smoke, etc.) that others overlook. Your tastes are simple, understated, but refined. Coarseness, bluntness, and vulgarity really offend you. You can be difficult to live with sometimes because of your fastidiousness, your sensitivity, and your idiosyncrasies about food and cleanliness.
Nope.
QuoteThough you seem rather cool and self-contained, you have a very helpful nature and you enjoy serving others. You are content to be in a supportive, assisting role rather than in the lead. You are quietly devoted to the ones you care for.
Content? Okay, but not "rather than". I'd much prefer to be running shit. I don't mind helping people who are grateful for the help, though.
QuoteYou are careful and cautious in your approach to life, realistic, practical, and disinclined to gamble. You analyze before you act. You are too serious sometimes. Allowing yourself to play and to make mistakes would be HEALTHY for you!
This is probably pretty accurate, for me and about 40% of the population.
QuoteSun in 8th house:
You crave intense experiences and are attracted to aspects of life that are strange, unfathomable, or taboo. You may hide your interests or inclinations, except from those who know you very intimately. You are rarely content with yourself and your life, and you have an inner urge to be continually going farther or deeper than you ever have before. You also have a strong interest in social power and the role that money and economics play in people's lives.
I certainly enjoy some things that are strange or taboo, and I certainly hide those inclinations from most people who I just know casually. Again, though, I'd imagine this is true of a large portion of the population. I may not be content with my life, but I sure as hell am more likely than not to do nothing at all about it. Social power I find somewhat interesting, but economics less so.
QuoteSun Conjunct Mercury:
You tend to see things from your perspective only and to be rather subjective. You also enjoy talking and expressing your views but you don't always listen as well. You have a clear mind, a love of learning and new experiences, and need constant mental stimulation and activity.
You tend to see things from your perspective? That's the prediction? What the hell does that even mean? I'd imagine I must be doing some listening or my beliefs and ideals wouldn't be changing so much as time goes by. I do require more or less constant mental stimulation.
QuoteSun Square Mars:
You are direct, energetic, sometimes aggressive and combative. You often feel that you need to fight to get what you want and you tend to have a "me-first" attitude that angers or irritates others. You are hasty, restless, impatient, and sometimes reckless.
First sentence, a little, second, not really, third, sure, less so as I get older.
QuoteSun Square Uranus:
Impulsive, restless, and spontaneous, your life is apt to be somewhat unstable and full of sudden changes. You are extremely independent and crave excitement, adventure, freedom, and discovery. You have a rebellious streak and often feel you are unusual and different from the mainstream of society. The unorthodox and novel appeal to you.
And yet just a little while ago I was told that I was
not impulsive or spontaneous. I'm certainly independent and require freedom, though I'm a little less active on the adventure and discovery bit than I was in my younger years.
I'm not going to go through the rest of these paragraph by paragraph because that would take forever, this ought to have been enough to give you a general idea of how the hits and misses are coming. I will now tally them, go back to the other chart, tally those, and make a comparison.

QuoteYou are inclined to analyze, measure, and dissect everything and to miss nuances, subtle shades of feeling and meaning.
I find this to be a very telling statement. Whoever came up with this program is of the belief that the inclination to analyze things will cause you to
miss nuances, not be more aware of them. Unsurprising to find anti-intellectualism in an anti-intellectual field. At any rate, back to my analysis.
QuoteThe mysterious and the unknown fascinate you and you may investigate the supernatural or something that is hidden or taboo.
Also, this is just funny. Someone who takes their star chart seriously having an interest in the supernatural? Perish the thought.

Mine's April 6th... That's over four months prior.
Okay, so I broke this down into what I considered "individual predictions". One individual prediction may take up multiple sentences, or only a portion of a sentence. In my chart I counted 206 individual predictions, whereas Jeff's chart appears to contain 208, so they're pretty close in terms of total information. I broke the predictions down into hits, misses, and predictions that were vague enough that they could be interpreted to go either way. Of the hits, I think it's important to note that many of these seemed to be more or less universal, or otherwise predictions with a high probability of accuracy in relation to any given person. Range of accuracy is from clear hits (including predictions I considered to be obvious or universal) to a combination of clear hits and vague predictions.
Both charts are compared for accuracy to me, I have no idea how accurate Jeff's chart is to him.

You'll note that Jeff's prediction, when we consider only clear hits, is 9% more accurate for me than my own, but that when vague predictions are included, this drops to a mere 3% difference. Also, the Major Life Themes sections seem to be more accurate because, if these two are any indication, they seem to be much more general.

Some of the "facts" were true, some were not. Astrology isn't legitimate science, it's just throwing out basic traits of people, and then backing out and saying the exact opposite. It's like "You can be fun and exciting, except for the times when you aren't feeling fun and exciting." As Penn and Teller would say, Astrology is BULLSHIT. I mean I read on the exact same page "You are very expressive" and then a couple paragraphs later it says "you keep to yourself", or something like that. :l

Datura is basically the worst hallucinogenic drug you can do. Deleriants in general are just awful. Both in experience and their effect on your body. You WILL piss yourself and have nausea for the next few days. And continued use damages your brain pretty badly, HPPD is the least of your worries. Best case scenario is you have an interesting yet scary experience with shadow spiders running around everywhere. Worst case scenario you wake up naked three states away in the middle of nowhere and covered in blood and feces. DMT has always sounded interesting to me but psychedelics of any kind are hard as hell to find here. I'll probably just buy a spore syringe some day and grow mushrooms (why it's legal to buy the spores but not the fully grown product I do not know). I could buy some salvia at a headshop but that never really interested me as much and they charge too much for it. I'll likely never do ayahusca because that's crazier than DMT and lasts hours and hours.

Don't waste your time with salvia. I would never call it a psychedelic and it will send you on a trip through chaos and back. Psychedelics will find you when the time is right. Respect them as teachers and use them to confront reality rather than escape from it. Without using psychedelics respectfully they are dangerous. They are tools for learning. If you aren't open to learning about yourself and the universe or are afraid to learn about such things they are dangerous.
Ayahuasca is typically only used in real healing ceremonies lead by a shaman. I have had friends go to South America to do this. Not to be taken without a shaman, the shamans control the energy and keep out negative entities. That stuff is the real deal.
