Title: What are some proper boss multi-player games I can play with my fellow fellows?
Post by: Sinister Clock on August 19, 2012, 04:41:35 PM
Seems everything is losing split screen functionality now, in spite of the rise of HD and big old projectors. So I ask thee, Clock Crew.cc community forums member, what are some coolio digital computer video games?

My mates typically just play Modern Warfare 3, Black Ops, and Mario Kart; sometimes Mortal Kombat Vs DC. I just don't have very many multi-player games which actually let people in the same room play with each other. It's great when we play a decent game, with a big old 720p projector, basically everyone has their own SD TV for their screen. When it actually lets you play at the full width, rather than cutting a bit off to preserve the almighty, sacred, FOV, it's just awesome, you can pretty much turn your head to the left to look left sort of thing, if I had a curved, white wall, it would be mind blowing.

So anyone play many split screen or otherwise, single-screen-multi-player games? I can pretty much emulate everything below and including the PS2 and Wii, plus I have a PS3 and at least one less than three controllers for it; I just need to be able to utilise them, you know?

Peace out.

I've got a fair amount of recommendations:

PC

Dungeon Defenders (Uses Xinput)
Jamestown: Legend of the Lost Colony (Uses Xinput, supports multiple keyboards and mice)
Serious Sam Classic: The Second Encounter (DirectInput)
Serious Sam 3: BFE (Xinput)
Trine 2

PS3

Borderlands 2
Dungeon Defenders
Resistance 3
Trine 2
Portal 2 (Split-screen is also possible on PC, so long as you know the console commands)

I just got Rayman: Origins yesterday. It's got up to 4 player co-op, and it's really really good for it. It's dirt cheap now, so I highly recommend it.

Castle Crashers is cool, with the added bonus of being able to say "i've talked with the guy that made this game". Assuming you've chatted with Dan Paladin and/or Tom Fulp before.
