A lot of clocks have been playing Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition on PC lately. BlobClock, ButtplugClock, SobeClock, and myself have been playing a lot. If any of you have that game for steam you should hit us up! It's the new hotness when it comes to clock crew multiplayer! Way better than that "smash bros" and "Crusader kings" bullshit that pooprice was obsessed with

All xbox controllers work automatically with windows. Most ps3 controllers work if you get the right drivers, too.

If you play TF2, you can find someone who is selling SSF4:AE for TF2 items, that's what I did.

I believe I tried using it on an old pc of mine a few years ago and it wouldn't work. Seems to work now though. Been playing Witcher 2 with it lately.

Why da fuck is everyone in the clock crew so poor? You guys seriously can't afford 40 dollars? How do you live like that, with no disposable income?

I live below the poverty line and even I can afford a vidcon now and then

If I recall correctly, they added xbox 360 controller support in a windows vista service pack.

They've had Guilty Gear on the PC in the past with Accent Core, but Arc has been pretty much Playstation exclusive for a while now. I hope to hell there's a PC release too but I kind of doubt we'll be so lucky.

I like the new art direction. I always thought Arcs sprite work was kind of sub-par, especially when compared to SNK. These 3D renders look a lot better.

Ky Kiske looks like a massive fag with the pony tail though. I hope there are alternate costumes.

We didn't have to pay or the 2012 update so I highly doubt we'd have to pay for the 2013 one. There's no release date yet so I'd imagine sometime closer to Fall.

I played like 8 different fighting games for a few hours in GGPO today, I feel like I learned a lot actually. SSF2T and Vampire Savoir in particular were really fun. I like Baby Bunny Hood in vsav, and Balrog, Guile, and Bison in SSFT2. If you want to play just let me know and I'll help you set it up, you pretty much have to just download GGPO and the ROMS you want.

Also Morrigan has jetpack wings and can shoot missles, wtf?

She can do that in MvC games too. In MvC3 she has crazy crossups using the jetpack dash.

Man I wish MvC2 wasn't such an imbalanced piece of shit. It has such an awesome and huge roster.

Well my main team is Ryu with hadouken assist, Akuma with Tatsumaki Zankukyaku assist and my third character is usually up in the air between Felicia w/ cat spike, Haggar with Steel Pipe, Dante w/ crystal, or Trish with Peekaboo

So yeah I officially gave up on learning stick. After a ton of practice on it my pad play was still way better.

Yeah, they're nice, and since they technically function as 360 controllers they can indeed use the GFWL menus.

The thing about Ryu is, he pretty much has all the tools in the game. Everything anybody else has he has too. Other characters are too specialized and unique. Other characters who have as many tools as him have a major downside to deal with (like extremely low health, which is the problem with Akuma, Seth, and Evil Ryu). The only things he DOESN'T have is a command grab and a teleport.

Even though I barely ever play him, I still feel like Ryu is one of my strongest characters just because of how amazingly versatile and powerful he is.

Yeah, his straightforwardness is a double edged sword. Easy to utilize but also easy to see through. Knowing how I'm going to kick your ass won't stop it from happening, though.

Also, if you don't feel Ryu, start with Guile. Those two are the best characters to start with, the only real difference being one is a charge character, and the other is not. So you can find which one feels better to you.

I find charge characters a little frustrating, although i am somewhat familiar with Guile. I'll try with both. Practicing never hurt anyone.

you basically need to charge buffer AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY, even if you don't play to do a charge attack in order for them to work. It kind of requires some multitasking to be effective. If you're just hiding out in a corner holding down and back and waiting for the whole game you're doing it wrong (although that can be effective against overly aggressive people)

I think I'm gonna lay off the fighters for a few days because I overexerted my hand/wrist while practicing. I'm gonna start doing stretches and exercises for my hands.

It's the pinky side of my wrist so it's not some kind of carpal tunnel...  hope? Apparently carpal tunnel is for the thumb middle and index.

The game is pretty balanced but still not perfect, there is always room for improvement.

Adding stuff to the game is probably pretty damn expensive. Hell, I know it took the Skullgirls devs $830,000 just to add five characters to their game and they are a rather small indie studio. There's probably a surprising amount of cost on the back end of an update like this on Capcom's part. If the paid update comes with new characters, stages, a few new features and rebalancing I really don't mind paying $15 for it.

Also It's kind of weird to me how Poison makes sonic booms with her whip. I'll mess around with Hugo too as long as he has costumes that look like Andre the Giant

Rolento is cool but I mean the no-pupils thing is kinda cheesy. Would be even cooler with actual eyeballs.

Guys they can't just copy paste moves directly from SFxT. They're going to have to slow down the moves a bit since SF4 is a slower paced game and change some of the properties of moves. There's also no way of knowing what "tier" they'll be until they're released.

One think I don't get about this outrage is, why does it matter if the characters they're adding were already in another game? I don't see how "it's slightly easier for capcom to make the DLC than it otherwise would have been" is a problem

Can't say I share the opinion, considering SSFIV made me drop Starcraft just in the past few months, and renewed my enthusiasm for fighting games in general. I was aallll about SC2 before I got into SSF4.

The game continues to grow, too. As far as I know, this year's turnout at EVO was one of the best there's been.

Regarding the Ultra upgrade, I agree with Thor here. I don't really care at all if most of the new content is being ported from SFxT because I don't play SFxT. I'd rather have this stuff in USF4 anyway.

But why is it bad that it's easier to add the content? If they made the characters from scratch, what difference would it have made? None at all. They probably would have added the same characters anyway. Everyone knows that Capcom doesn't give a fuck about popularity polls anyway or Karin, Q and Rainbow Mika would have been in SF4.

Anyway, I like all the characters they're adding (except for Poison who I don't really care for), so I'm happy to get this DLC. Also, they're apparently getting rid of GFWL which is cool.

edit: Yeah SF5 would be cool but no way we'll be seeing that until like 2015.

If you want a game series that arbitrarily updates every single year you should go play King of Fighters

No GFWL logo, but there is a Steam logo. If it was using GFWL as its online it would be on there. GFWL is dead now anyway, even Microsoft games aren't using it any more.

That's amazing as long as the netcode doesn't get fucked up (I don't think Capcom is dumb enough to fuck up SF4 like that but who knows.)

I honestly don't feel a need for SF5 yet, perhaps because SF4 is still new to me. But it seems a little early to split the community between another SF title

But the only real diffrence between how SFxT and AE is just that its about 23% faster (even the throw tech is a bit faster), and then in SFxT its the same models from AE with the speed + the art style.   I super ultra combo fatality edition.

I think Rolento will end up S+.  Just from the range on that standing HP.  Plus he has Rekkas with a projectile.  S+.

Yeah I was figuring he would be high tier. He also has good mobility with rolling and that pogo stick thing. He'll basically be an annoying asshole to play against like Akuma is.

At least he doesn't have an invincible Shoryuken.

I'm mostly excited for Hugo though. I'm glad to see a big grappler type that has more of a focus on strong combos rather than just "get in and get the grab to win" for the whole game like Hawk and Zangief. Hakan is sort of like that but too gimmicky

fanmade fighters are usually crappy because they make the sprites too big and make spammy moves with no way to counter them effectively, making the gameplay a boring spamathon. They're also usually incredibly imbalanced and full of infinites and exploits.


Basically if a game isn't at least as well made as Skullgirls, then it's not worth playing.


EDIT: Also in that pokemon one, the sprites don't even look like they're done in the same art style. What's up with that?? Having different art styles and characters that aren't the same scale as each other bothered the shit out of me in Marvel vs Capcom 2. Fucking Akuma like 2 feet shorter than magneto...

Came in 5th out of around 30 people in my tournament. I had tournament jitters, so I dropped way to many combos, but I still feel good about the overall outcome. I'll post the link to the stream archives tomorrow if anyone wants to see my games that were streamed.

It goes Injustice, AE, UMVC3. I'm on stream twice, and I know my first one is the second fight shown. Don't know when my second fight is, but I was against a sagat, and personally, I think it was a way better match. I also get to taunt in each match :D

It's definitely worth it more for Persona fans, but it's still a solid fighting game in its own right. Story's way better than blazblue too.

Might start playing chun as an off-character again, I was doing pianos into light and fierce lightning legs like 75% of the time in training mode after a half hour of practice which I could never do before.

So wow, before today I never really knew about hitstop. I always wondered how I was able to cancel 2f moves so easily. Now I just need to know how many frames of hitstop there is for each move...

I can't go because money but there are a few cars full of people from Buffalo going. How often do you guys get together and play? We usually only have one large gathering a week and I also started going to our stream and playing there too.

Yah I can't go either :p We generally play every thursday at a local game store, however, the scene dies in the winter, but comes back in the spring. Since we hadn't been doing much, a guy had a big party thing  at his house, so that was fun. The Halifax scene is much stronger than ours, sadly :( HINT: Rob, get on that

But even though the character herself sucks, I do like the way she plays.

also, what was the tease of R.mika?
(i dont know alot about street fighter, other than known jokes, and movies)

Them killing R Mika was a huge bonerkill, and honestly not a smart idea considering they revealed a character 10s later that uses cammy's model and animations

Came 5th out of 37 in my tournament. Beat a scrubby Ibuki, lost to Zangief, beat Dudley, Yang, Ryu, another Ibuki (but a good one), and finally lost to a Vega. Pretty sure I could have beaten the Vega, which is a shame :(

nice job, I still get nervous at tournaments

My first tournament I lost to some people that I could beat now, but at the last one I got put against like one of the top 5 players there and got sent to losers bracket, and then before I could gather myself I played against this guy who played Evil Ryu, I thought I knew the matchup a little but he played a lot differently than our local Evil Ryu player.
