I think clockcrew is a good starting point for learning animation but in the end it surpresses your creativity because you always base things on clocks and that gets old and is constricting, so everyone stops animating because its boring and not interesting

The CC at this point is way less about being an animation group than it is about old friends staying in touch.

I always wish I could've had the conviction to be a Quality > Quantity content creator, but my poor attention span and general lack of creativity usually lead to me getting bored immediately after i start working on something.

I hate that i use 'RobClock' as a username, and that I can't think of anything that I'd rather be. I've been drawing the same stupid caricature of my face now for as long as I can remember- and at this point my output is a fraction of what it used to be so to reestablish myself a new clockname doesn't even seem worth it.

when i made abbazaba his trophy, i had the components sitting in my room starting about 3 days after i said i would get it to him. I had tried using this Citadel 'super glue' I had gotten from a friend who plays warhammer and the stuff wouldn't hold the cup to the base, so i got frustrated and taped them together. I was too embarrassed to send that, so it sat in a box in the corner for way too long, at which point i didnt wanna ship it because it seemed like it would be a disappointing overly-delayed joke. I got reminded to ship it off again, and so I decided I should get it over with, and while i was looking for the brown paper you wrap parcels in to ship them, i found we had a glue-gun in the cupboard.

then again I was like 15 so I guess I had some leeway to be a moron

I never did much animation or anything but I know this place played a part in developing my sense of humor which I still have and enjoy today

Also being able to post here and talk with people got me through some rough times in my teens which was cool

Hahaha, yes of course, The Moon Squad, the most unoriginal thing I've ever done, I was Orange Moon, and I remember somebody joined here and started making flashes and got a lot of hate from you guys. I don't even care that you hacked me, thank you for that, the sooner I got rid of that the better. Every asshole on the internet eventually turned me into a better person, if that makes sense. I think after you hacked me I became hardened and starting hacking forums myself and fully transitioned into my internet tough guy phase.

nothing was planned. if you think anything i ever did here was planned beyond "this seems like a good idea" and doing it immediately, you're giving me too much credit.

im not saying every single thing i ever did was done in the interest of sparking of activity, because there was definitely a lot of animosity between myself and other members. i am saying that none was done out of spite, anger, or maliciousness on my part. and for a time, it did work. the most activity this forum has seen in the last 7-8 years was the month after i was de-adminned. second most activity was probably the anime bans. thats including clock days and other events.

do i think we lost members because of the drama i caused? absolutely. do i think we retained members because of the drama i caused? youre god damn right.

i do disagree with your description of my term as head admin as being a "dark reign" when dwarf and myself modelled our entire approach to running the forum the way grapes did in 2002, while being considerably more relaxed in our ban philosophy. the way we were raised as clocks, the way we were mentored and taught through embarrassment by senior clocks, it was a completely different culture. one that we tried to reinstate. bring back the 2002 attitude, bring back the 2002 community. that was our goal. obviously we weren't successful, but i still stand by our approach and our attempt to rebuild the culture that gave us the best years, the best movies, and the best people. whether you want to believe it or not, i spent 11 years of my life in this community, and i cared about it. i really did. i dont think anyone can be a part of something for 11 years and not care about it. whether you want to believe it or not, i always did what i thought was right for the community.

concerning your final comment, yes. thats why i left. it wasn't working anymore. i couldnt contribute to the community the way i thought i needed to anymore. it was 11 years of my life, a lot of good and bad, but a lot of memorable moments nonetheless.

i do feel like i need to add one final note: since im sure some of you are thinking "that clamclock is up to something", there is no ulterior motive to this post. im not trying to come back, or win trust, or anything else. this is essentially a final statement to a huge part of my life thats now over. i would like to leave knowing that my actions are understood, and hopefully that my legacy isnt "that one asshole" but i know that having accepted my role long ago, and making the choices i did to create the culture that i thought the community needed to have, it may not be possible.


and thats about it. i may stop in from time to time in the future, and if anyone wants to get in contact with me, irc is your best bet.
