After the success of House of Haunted Clocks we've decided to do another smaller themed PTF. Target date is maybe a few days before Christmas?
For this collab you can obv do whatever you want but try to keep on a general Christmas theme. Thx
ALSO I think we've had enough collabs involving time travel, whether clocks can die or not, etc etc. try to be original thxxx
CLOCKMAS PASS THE FLASH
RULES:
1) Keep your movie in a movie clip.
2) At the first frame of your movie add the following to the frame: _root.stop();
3) At the last frame of your movie add this: _root.play();
4) Make sure you rename all your symbols. Add your name (ex. STRAWBERRY_chair) to your symbol to keep things clean. Also put all the symbols you make in a folder with your name on it.
5) Try and keep your movie between 30 seconds to 1:30. No one wants to see a 3 second part or have someone make a full length movie in the middle of our collab.
6) SET ALL SOUNDS TO STREAM. SERIOUSLY. LEAVING IT AS EVENT WILL HAVE REALLY BAD CONSEQUENCES FOR YOU
7) Use your time wisely.
8) If you are going to drop out, do it before your part is up.
3 Days this time for COMPLETED PARTS
SPECS:
24fps
640x360 (so it can be easily scaled up and uploaded to YT)
If you use AS for whatever reason, make sure it's AS2. Also try to stay away from using an AS camera.
If you're using a CS version, when creating the file, make sure it's AS2 compatible link.
Post what version of flash you submitted it as when you're done.
If you're using a specialized font, break it down (ctrl+b).

MelloYello did a great job in the last PTF coming in clutch with a great post credits scene at the last minute, I talked to him and he's decided to take over the first part. I have SillyPutty down at 4. Part 3 is open as a result of Mello shifting to 1st. If anyone wants it call it. Im reserving the right to move about around for the betterment of the collab if need be though

I'm better at making Clockmas movies than Clockoween so I just might give this a shot. Been a while since I last made anything worthwhile. I'm on CS6 now though so I'm not sure how much of an issue that would be (I know it exports AS2 just fine).

Yeah, I couldn't really manage that. But I do have a script written up that should advance the plot and take minimal time to animate, so I can definitely get it done by the day after tomorrow. I'll be working on it for the hour I have until I have to leave for work, and as soon as I get home from work today.

By the way, Can somebody explain rule 1 in greater detail? The way I'm interpreting it is that I have to have my entire movie as 1 frame and everything is contained inside a "movie clip" type of symbol. Am I wrong?

create a movie clip and animate your entire movie in the movie clip. on the main timeline it should appear as one frame with the movie clip on it

This is a pretty good idea. If we can see it and it doesn't lag for us, we'll know for sure that the problem's on your end and there's nothing wrong with the flash itself.

Yeah, it's definitely something in the flash. It's lagging on my end. The files shouldn't be very large, though. The only sound I hear is Speakonia voices.
Anyway, it's good to hear that you're having luck with the settings.

Thanks for that. Oddly enough, it was #2 that I did which fixed it. It still lags if I put too many sound files in a short period of time though - I'm just going to get around that by making it look crappier. Other than that, it does have some tips I found useful - and it reminded me where the onion skinning button was.
My part is basically done. I just need to get some music to go along with the crappiest fight scene ever animated by somebody over 12 years old.

Here's the bulk of it. I lost about two hours of work yesterday (mostly just animating between them talking, bouncing, etc etc) when my PC nearly kicked the bucket. It's snowing a ton in my part towards the end, I just haven't thrown together a replacement snow graphic for it yet. i'll be polishing (less placeholder graphics, hunting down the rest of the voice acting, couple of animation/soundbits here and there )throughout the week and should have a more definitive version s@@n.

Also I was v drunk when I watched pops part yesterday but I wanna say I was lollin at it especially michael Scott. Also they was my reaction to this collab irl (including my own part). RIP
