For those of you who don't know me (which is probably most of you), the name's SpudClock. I originally joined back in the glory days of the original .cc site in 2002. I was a pretty active member all throughout the life of the site until that fateful day in the summer of 2003 when Pintey pretty much destroyed the site (it had become a total joke, I don't blame him and from what I heard Orange gave him the greenlight). I hung around WTFnoob for a while, but eventually I just lost interest completely as it just wasn't the same.
Flash forward eleven years and these days, much like when I first joined, I have very little going on as I lost my job recently. I was on some other message board and someone mentioned illwillpress (still a talentless hack) and it made me think of my long-lost, long-distance old friends. I was surprised to see someone revived this site, when I googled ClockCrew I was expecting to find some crappy BBS like those god-awful sites a few of the old members tried to make after this place crashed and burned. It even looks like the old site, I'm impressed. I see Durian's still here, any other old members still hanging around? It's been too long. And for those of you that don't know me, it's a pleasure to meet you.
Gasp, the real SpudClock
Welcome back. A few old people are still around, but not many.
Welcome home.
Nice to meet you fellas. How long has the old site been back anyway? I checked in on the crew in like 2007 or 2008 maybe but it wasn't like this. It was a different site and it seemed like Leek was running it. Who runs the show here now? Seems like there must be at least one old timer that helped make this place. There's no way a new member could've just guessed what the old site looked like.
I also see a lot of other old members stopped in to say hi and then vanished again. It's a shame they didn't stick around for a little bit, we could get a sweet reunion going if they all came back around the same time. How does everyone here communicate these days? Does the CC still have a chatroom or does everyone here seriously still use AIM? I haven't used that since like 2007.
EDIT: Cool beans, just noticed Piney's still around. And he still has that same old sig, amazing. I wish I still had the same computer from back then, so much history just sitting in some landfill. I wanna get Flash again but I'm scared I'm gonna suck at it now. Last time I used it I was using Flash 4 and I don't even have a computer anymore, I'm on a Samsung tablet.
We use AIM still, yes.

we havent changed domains since like 2006 but clockradio brought back a bunch of old skins. i assume ur talking about agent005 being the "old site" skin
renegade and poptart captain this sinking ship now. patriot likes to pretend hes boss but u dont have to listen to him

hi,I remember you, but, I don't think, we were that close
I was geeyouknit in wtfnoob
the clock crew is a significantly different beast from what it was, as you might expect from a ten year gap and a low number of members closing that gap. I mean we're still a bunch of goofs making flash movies, but everything's a lot more low key, because, newgrounds is kind of dying, and nobody wants to talk about it. mostly we just shoot the shit
also, there's another site redesign on the way, since this one hasn't been maintained for a while and is kind of falling apart
welcome back, mr. spud clock!
things in the CC have been quiet during the 2006-2007 era, and indeed leek was ruling with a fair hand.
nowadays, after so many years, renegade, pop-tart, iron and patriot run the site with a fair hand as well.
also yes, im happy to say, that i've seen many old legendary clocks like melloyello, magic(once),pint and SBC posting here every now and then.
thankfully melloyello sticked around, and his movies rock.
i would like to be friends with you mr. spud clock. but i have to ask you:
what is a spud?

I haven't played around with the skins yet, but if there's one that makes it look even more like the original, I'll definately check it out. My old AIM name was MyNamesN1ck, but I'll probably have to make a new one cos I doubt I'll remember the password. I hate to sound like such an old-timer, but what's AIM blast?

I was Splendid on WTFnoob. Your name sounds vaguely familiar, but I didn't stick around WTFnoob for too long. Onion was always talking about how we were moving forward and being done with the CC but then all he ever wanted to do was attack it. WTFnoob was actually pretty pathetic aside from when we jacked illwillpress' account and uploaded that fake Foamy movie. Someone was talking about it in the Cracked forums and it's actually what inspired me to come back here. I told people there I was part of the group that did that and a bunch of them were giving me shit for it so I said fuck it I'll go to a forum where people actually have taste. I can't believe that dumbass dickbag still makes movies and still actually has fans.

i would like to be friends with you mr. spud clock. but i have to ask you:
what is a spud?
I was poking around and did notice Pint was here. I saw Burrito, Flame and Dingleberry were all here as well but it looks like they left again as soon as they showed up. Durian told me Soup's not gone for good though and that he stops by every now and then. I also saw DWARFINATOR on a thread somewhere. I saw SBC too but c'mon, that can't be the real Strawberry, he never wanted anything to do with the CC.
Spud is another word for potato. I originally joined as GlockClock in April 2002. I wanted to change my name when I realized how stupid that was, but by that time most of the good fruits and veggies were taken, many of them by people who signed up, posted once or twice and never stuck around, PotatoClock being one of them. I really wanted to be a fruit or veggie. Some of my friends in high school started calling me Spudnick and that's when the idea came to me. Not only was a good veggie character, but it had a bit of a personal touch to it as well. Some people have used my .fla in movies and credited it as PotatoClock, but it's really supposed to be Spud. There was never really a PotatoClock.
I like your character by the way. 8BallClock was a good friend of mine back then and 9Ball was actually my cousin, though he was better known as IrnBruClock and was not particularly well liked. Unfortunately IrnBru died in Virginia in a car accident when he was 18. R.I.P.
Quote from: SpudClock;1980262I saw SBC too but c'mon, that can't be the real Strawberry, he never wanted anything to do with the CC.
We have a symbolic SBC account on the forums for admin purposes, but Coolboyman is the real StrawberryClock, and he stops by every once in awhile. He even made a part for our Christmas collab.
There should be an Alumni section of the site or something. That way when old clocks come back they can look and see what all their old friends are doing these days.
Like a little mini bio under each clock and "where they are now."

1. ok, first of all, AIM blast is a group-chat inside AIM, and everyone can join, but you must be accepted/invited by a chat mod.
i've been accepted and kicked out of there many times.
2. also: what was the WTFnoob forums like? does the old forum/site still exist?
all i know was that WTFnoob was the ''castle'' of the anti-clocks, and it had ki1o, mr_artist, butcher, and many more clock-haters in its ranks, trying to battle the ever-growing clock fandom.
only mr_artist eventually grew out of the ''clock hate'' spirit, and called the others to focus ONLY on protecting newgrounds from crappy flash movies instead of hating a single usergroup.
3. you was posting in the
cracked.com forums? i am a member there! whats your name, and why did people treated you badly for saying that you and WTFnoob fought against illwillpress? (i mean illwillpress IS a talentless hack).
4. thanks for your kind words. i think you should be clock-crew's potato-clock, since afterall, the original barely existed in the site.
i said the same for the name-dispute of blob clock, but i eventually suggested to the (new) blob clock to rename himself into ditto clock, or blueblob clock.
also, im very sad for your loss. RIP.
5. actually, SBC is real, and he visits the forums once in a while! his name is coolboyman, (like renegade said above), and he even took part in our collabs for the last 2 years!!!!
we can say that we were in a few collabs with SBC himself! isnt that magnificent?!

Quote from: VuBawlsClock;1980283I've actually been curious about which clocks are actually dead.
There was over one thousand of us at one point, and most of us were in our early teens. Statistically speaking, IrnBru can't be the only one that died. He did a lot of risky stuff as I'm sure a lot of us did as we got into our late teens/early twenties. His parents never actually confirmed it, but we all pretty much know it was a drunk driving thing. Hopefully MountainDewClock's still alive, if not those two are probably arguing in hell right now.

1. I'll have to download AIM and get on that. I think I actually do remember the MyNamesN1ck password, unless RedPlum hacked it. I had 2 old screen names back in the day and one day Tangie pointed out that RedPlum was using them somehow.
2. When the old
clockcrew.cc went down the crew pretty much split into three factions. Most just said fuck it and were never heard from again. Onion and Bio both made new sites and invited people to their new forums. Bio tried to keep the ClockCrew going, but his site mostly attracted the annoying, prepubescent type members that ruined the crew in the first place (KabuuClock for example, first popped up on Bio's site). Onion promised his site would be something fresh and new, and it mostly attracted what was left of the older members ready to start a new chapter. Naturally I went with Onion's group, but it quickly deteriorated into just a group of angry ex clocks attacking Bio's site. I think most of them didn't want to admit that they were angry that the CC would never be what it once was, and rather than accepting that and moving on (which is what we were told we were gonna do when the group formed), they just attacked Bio's site thinking it was somehow accomplishing something. For a brief period we did, and that's when we scored what was probably WTFnoob's only significant victory. Onion got into illwillpress' account (by guessing the password, he claims we hacked it but we didn't) and uploaded that fake Foamy episode with the subliminal gay porn and Foamy killing himself. We showed Wade that Foamy's dumbass fans will just vote 5 on anything that dude uploads and in turn the voting system was changed so it wasn't just about batting averages anymore. After that it seemed like it was deteriorating into nothing and me and Chibi/Battery both went on a spampage and got banned to be sure we would never be a part of that again. WTFnoob was more a group of ex-clocks than an anti-clock group, it's membership consisting of me, Onion, Chibi, Grog, Frogbag, Triangle, Mac, Marijuana and Shasta. I don't know who told you that story but ki1o was never a part of it, we never would have let him join and I've never even heard of those other guys. And I wouldn't call the clock fandom ever-growing, it pretty much peaked in 2002.
3. I was ottav on cracked. It was actually in the comments section on that article about trolling where I got flamed for it. I was agreeing with the author about how trolling was a much more creative thing ten years ago and mentioned the illwillpress story and referred to it as a great thing (I meant as far as trolling goes, it's not like I brag about it in real life). Some douche replied "That's what you call great things?" sarcastically and I got a bunch of thumbs down for my comment (more than I've ever seen before). That was the last time I commented on anything on cracked, I thought people there had good taste but if Foamy fans inhabit that place I don't know what to think of it anymore.
4. I prefer Spud, since it kinda incorporates my real life nickname. At one point Grapes actually purged all the non-active accounts from the site and I had the option. I briefly changed it to Potato but everyone had come to know me as Spud so I changed it back. I also tried to change it to Cherry one time, thinking the old one was gone but as soon as I did he ended up coming back to bitch about me stealing his name (though he had no problem stealing my cherry avatar after I changed back).
5. I actually was still around when CoolBoyMan came out as StrawberryClock. I just didn't think the SBC account here was actually him. When he first admitted it he didn't seem too interested in being a part of the CC. Glad to see he came around though.
Oh, btw, don't feel obligated to answer every single one of BB10's posts. It's like opening Pandora's box.
Wtfnoob also harrassed Clockgrounds for a time, which, IIRC, was the major clocksite for a time following Bio's revival. I believe Virus owned it.
Dodger was an Smod at the time and was harassed more so than anybody else during those days.
I really enjoyed Clockgrounds, granted I was 13.
I think it's nice that he's curious. And people here should know that while there may be some ill feelings towards WTFnoob, it's made up of some of the original members, one of whom you guys seem to have an award named after. They weren't really bad guys, just a little misguided.
Quote from: Nintendoclock;1980292Dodger was an Smod at the time and was harassed more so than anybody else during those days.
I'm sorry if she was your friend, but Dodger was kind of one of those undesirable members I was talking about. She was generally not well-liked on the original site, and she was one of those annoying members that acted like she had been there forever when the new sites popped up when really she showed up like a month before the site went down and no one liked her. Still, no one really had a problem with her, she was just one of those annoying types you'd probably block on AIM within an hour of meeting her. But then she started running her mouth about WTFnoob and that's when she opened up Pandora's box. See, Dodger was just kind of...dumb. She was not properly equipped to engage in a battle of wits with the likes of Shasta, Grog or really anyone at WTFnoob but especially those two, who were generally thought of as some of the wittiest, smartest clocks on the old site. She just kept digging herself a bigger hole with every stupid attempt to retaliate when she should have just let it go.
Shasta++ existed on the original .cc. It's a throwback. I'm surprised you don't remember it.
I begged battery for it when I first joined and he told me to fuck off or something. Good times.
I was also on WTFnoob for a very short period of time under the moniker of Vash. I didn't last long to no ones surprise. I was probably one of the prepubescent clocks that the group was trying to get away from at the time. I miss those days though. Newgrounds used to be fun.
Ninty, when are you starting up tightclockholes.com?

I wouldn't take it too hard. I don't remember your name surfacing on the site. I honestly didn't mind the kids so much, I was pretty young when I joined myself and some of the coolest people in the CC were kids. My only real problem was the self-rightous douchebags, and I think that's what bothered a lot of us at WTFnoob. You had people like Dodger and Da Dinictus who were at that time still pretty much noobs giving us crap and saying we weren't real clocks or something like that and acting like they made the ClockCrew when in fact they ruined it. To be honest, I think people like that deserved everything they got from WTFnoob, it's just that after like 2 months some of us were saying "Okay, we made our point, now let's move on and be done with the ClockCrew like you said we were gonna" and Onion still wanted to carry on this petty vendetta of his.
Did you really just say I don't remember Shasta though. Shasta was actually a friend of mine. Long live Blamco!
I don't doubt you remember Shasta, I remember him too. I was just surprised you didn't remember the Shasta++ award.
Quote from: Nintendoclock;1980297I don't doubt you remember Shasta, I remember him too. I was just surprised you didn't remember the Shasta++ award.
Nevermind, I just realized you meant the actual award. I really don't remember the redesign too well, but it's coming back to me. We had those little groups like ThinkTank and Comics, and one of the groups was the award guys. I remember now cos Pint was trying to make me moderator of either ThinkTank or Awards and when he couldn't figure out how to do that he just made me a SuperMod. My glorious reign only lasted like 2 weeks before the site went down though.
Wow, my old screen name does still work. Add MyNamesN1ck on AIM blast. My buddy list is gone though, too bad, I was hoping maybe I could talk some other old timers into stopping by.
the old clocks seem to stop by from time to time to get their fill of nostalgia they make a few posts and are happy things are still running. then they leave again because its not part of their routine anymore i figure.
its cool seeing old clocks come by they always got cool stories.

Yeah, I think some people seemed surprise that it's been three whole days and I'm still here. I'm guessing most of the old clocks that are even still around don't post as much now because they have jobs. It's been over a decade so even the young ones are in their 20s now. I imagine a lot of them were probably disappointed to see it's not as active too. The old site usually got a page or two worth of threads everyday, but I like to think of this place as being more about quality over quantity.
Quote from: SpudClock;1980293I'm sorry if she was your friend
haha she definitely wasn't. In all honesty, I thought she was a reasonable smod. Didn't harass me or anything like that. But she was definitely fat.

I showed up pretty much like the last few months of the original .cc so I guess we had that in common. I don't remember her being on the original .cc at all. The first (and only) time I encountered her was Clockgrounds.
QuoteStill, no one really had a problem with her, she was just one of those annoying types you'd probably block on AIM within an hour of meeting her. This I remember. She was constantly trying to get back at WTFnoob. I believe they hacked her Clockgrounds account, flooded the forums with goatse and lemonparty, registered a bunch of alts, and eventually virus just got tired of their harassment and shut the site (clockgrounds) down. Dodger's reactions to the attacks were always hilarious. This sparked my interest in WTFnoob and prompted me to join but I was a dumb immature kid at the time and didn't quite "get it" yet.
After that Koala's .co.uk showed up and this led to what was probably our second (and last) golden age in 05. I think
clockse.cx showed up slightly before that but that may have actually been before this iteration of .cc. I don't remember.
clockcrew history is pretty interesting when I think about it.
Quote from: Nintendoclock;1980308she was definitely fat.
I seriously almost died laughing when someone posted a picture of her. I was eating pretzels when I scrolled down to it and almost choked on one when I started laughing at it. And have you ever heard her voice? I think she was born a man.
I remember she came into a WTFnoob chat one time, and as you might expect everyone started flaming her. I don't remember who said it but someone told her to kill herself and she got all serious and said we better hope she doesn't because if she did and detectives went through her computer then we'd be legally responsible for her suicide. How can you say something like that and still possibly think you're winning the fight.
I remember her from the old .cc site only cos she was so aggravating. She was just kind of one of those people who tried too hard and couldn't take the hint. She thought Avo was one of her best friends because he was just way too nice to tell her to fuck off. She just didn't really get it, it's like in high school if some kid you've never met before just came and sat at your table and acted like he sat there with you all the time. I think that's why she was all too eager to take shots at WTFnoob, in her mind it was some sort of revenge against the cool kids that didn't wanna hang out with her, which probably brought back some painful high school memories for her. I really do feel sorry for her. But I wouldn't wanna sit with her either.
Hi
Man I just read WTFnoob and remembered that whole era. This just brought up a ton of my early teen memories I tried erasing with copious amounts of drugs. Is Shasta still around?

Shasta's long gone. He actually quit WTFnoob before I did. Me and Battery quit not too long after that. Me and Battery pretty much both agreed that as hard as it was to accept, the CC as we knew it was over. We wished each other well and parted ways, and that was the last time I talked to any of the old members.

1. i see. it will be good to have you back!
2. wow! this means, that whoever told me about ki1o and mr_artist in the WTFnoob was wrong. unless it was the F-KREW. i dont know.
3. hey mate, im also on cracked! good articles in there, and its sad to see foamy fans in there. congrats for your epic feat in NG, its good to prove to wade that foamy fans have absolutelly no taste.
4. hmm, name fights. yes, it happens alot, and i would agree with grapes motion. when did this happen? (the grapes merge/purge)
5. yep, its good to have him back, and its very interesting to see him posting/taking part in collabs. SBC is great!
also: i used to read shasta's stories/writings in the TIEM e-magazine, created by leek and yoyoclock(i think).
he wrote the funniest, most intelligent, and amazing stories that i ever read from a clock.
i bet he was also awesome in his posting/threads as well, right?
It wasn't like an epic purge or anything. It was just that when the site first opened up most of the fruit and veggie names got taken within the first few months, and a lot of people wanted to be a fruit or veggie. Someone wanted to use one of those good names that got claimed and asked Grapes to delete the inactive account. After he did it for that one guy he would always get requests like that so I'm guessing the reason he deleted all the inactive accounts was so people wouldn't bother him anymore.
I always assumed Shasta left for good after he disappeared from WTFnoob, I didn't know he had anything to do with the LeekClock era. But yeah, Shasta was pretty cool, all the girls wanted to suck his dick and all the dudes...pretty much wanted to suck his dick too.
Shasta++ award in his honor
man shasta seems like some kind of infamous legendary clock that you only hear about in old tales of dicksucking
he was just a cool funny guy
he popped up a couple years ago
I remember
because he said he was named after Shasta McNasty, the show
and I asked if mcnastymeal was, too, because I always wondered that
and
he
didn't

.
Shasta was just a really cool dude who also influenced the music around here. I wouldve never been into Dead Kennedys or Crass if it weren't for that guy. Mcnasty Meal did a pretty great radio show. All the really popular members usually had radio shows on Shoutcast, and if you were a homeschooled teen listening to some older guys playing music you've never heard of, it was pretty influential. The fact I was so young back then coupled with the fact that most of the cool people on .cc were pretentious curmudgeons shaped my way of thinking growing up.
If I remember correctly. WTFnoob had a somethingawful vibe about it? Wasn't Frogbag a heavy user? Frogbag was pretty awesome too. I don't know, the split and purge also had to do with humour. The fact that you had a more 4chan influenced crowd and then .cc being more influenced by the original humour of .cc (Juvenile, stupid flashes.). It got really confusing. Biological clock took over for awhile too correct? Because when WTFnoob came out, we were going through so many forum changes and site changes. .com, .net, .cc, it got really confusing and just hard to operate. For awhile stamper was working on the website? Near the end it got pretty hectic. Who did the original "Fun Stuff" series? I remember that dude showing me how to use soul seek and letting me download all of his discrographies, also being a bit of a shut in.
stamper was responsible for a couple of site designs when orange and co were still around. I think one of the .cc relaunches actually matched stamper's then-current nwegrounds design (lots of grey and yellow and horizontal stripes)
tritoch/rccolaclock/victrolaface headed up fun stuff. he's probably who you're thinking of.
a cursory googling reveals he's lead artist and animator on something called pirate101. (https://www.youtube.com/user/RobLovelett/videos)
wtfnoob had a VERY somethingawful vibe. 2003-ish was something awful's heyday and most of the old guard clocks were goons.
viscous even, like, half-assedly copied the 10 dollar paywall with something about you have to write a five page essay to get unbanned? also yes frogbag was there as fr00g. he was a kick. he also popped up here a while back just to say hi
biological ran clockcrew.net as a back-up site after clockcrew.cc went down, since it wasn't what clear actually happened until like years later, and bio didn't want to expand the forum into a full site, so marijuana and zen started clockgrounds, and then koala started clockcrew.co.uk. they all mutated in their own way and then after a couple years everything was gone for a couple of months and then, uh, magic and virus (?) started a site called clockland (? I think. or clocktopia. maybe both? edit: clockse it was called clockse lol) which eventually mutated into clockcrew.net, which was run by leek, which became this site, after, like, a dozen administration, server, and domain transfers.
wtfnoob, sans onion, branched off into buyhappiness.org, which appears to be long gone.
Who needs Clockopedia, when you've got Slurpedia.
Yeah Frogbag was on WTFnoob too. See what I mean? All us awesome people went to WTFnoob, Bio and Zen's sites were for homos. I would've liked to see how that buyhappiness.org turned out though. WTFnoob really could have been something great and I might have never left if it wasn't for Onion. I think he was just an angry guy who used the internet to get it all out. Some girl from his high school came on to the site once just to glance at it and see what he did. She didn't put any of her contact info in the profile but I PMed her and ended up getting her AOL screen name. She said she couldn't believe the way he acts on the internet. In real life he's this quiet timid little pussy, nothing like how he acted in CC.
Anyone here remember Entruder? That's where the coolest of the cool clocks were at.
I went to both sites. Biological was a pretty nice dude and ran a pretty good forum. While it lasted it really wasn't that bad (besides the infamous dodgerclock.). WTFnoob was a circle jerk as much as a welcomed reprieve from what was happening to clockcrew. A group of assholes is not as fun when there's no one to make fun of, and that was partly why WTF was so disappointing to me. It was filled full of incredibly intelligent assholes and trolls with no one but themselves to launch their anger at. The rest of clockcrew just kind've went into this mundane work mode. The fun was gone.
i have to ask you slurpee, if the WTFnoob is long-gone, then
what happened to the F-krew site/forums?
(i think the F-krew was the anti clocks main base)
also, who was entruder?

No one ever took F-Krew, The Locks or any anti-clock shit seriously because there was like a 1000 of us.

I always hated Bio's site but I gave Zen's a shot and I'm pretty sure MJC was on Zen's site and WTFnoob as well. Onion seemed to be the only one that had a problem with some of us playing both sides of the fence. Then Soup tried to join WTFnoob and Onion was a total dick to Soup and said go back to Clock Crew. That along with him banning Shasta was when I started getting sick of his shit. It was one thing to hate all these bratty, worthless noobs. I can even understand why some of them were mad at Bio and Zen because they enabled them. But now we were turning on our friends, and I never really thought of it like that but it makes perfect sense. I always thought our goal was to be rid of the Dodgers, Kabuus and Da Dinictuses, but I guess deep down WTFnoob needed people like that the same way Da Dini needed to fuck people in animal costumes.

so, f krew was some completely unrelated bullshit that didn't show up until way later. iirc it was just a bunch of newgrounds kids who swore to "destroy" us, including a kid calling himself mr. Artist, who I want to say Golden basically picked out of a hat to make fun of. he had a sephiroth avatar so we depicted him as sephiroth. we made a couple flashes about defeating him in a comically easy fashion. then, since he swore to single handedly destroy us "as of 11/06" we declared November 6th to be the Day of Reckoning. we kind of parted ways and wished each other well, and then we never heard from them again.

lol redemptionclock. There's someone we never talk about anymore.
I think he wanted money or something, only wanted to produce content if he got paid for it or some shit.
We are the Clock Crew, we've lasted for 14 years and going! Compared to us, seriously what the fuck is the F-Crew, Kitty Krew, Star Syndicate, Barney Bunch, Glock Group and barely the Lock Legion? Down the line, these are gonna be simply noted as copy-cats. We were the first, longest lasting, most prominent, talented, and diverse flash group on Newgrounds. No matter how obscure our content is. Mr. Artist, was our desperate attempt at having a new arch enemy. Ki1o and Hook's Crew barely lasted. Hell, Ki1o later became LeafClock. At the time it was fun to have other flash gangs to use as bad guys, but it's charm wore off quickly. Great movies were made from them, but in the long run it never really did much for us but throw the viewers into a frenzy of which side of the "flash group" spectrum that they agree more with. WTFNoob sucked, I was there. Old CC members that hated/feared the evolution of the group.
In my honest opinion, the Clock Crew is incredibly way more organized than it ever was. Of course back in the day we trolled NG way more with way more individuals that made their own brand of flash which made up the Clock Crew, but now, with the official and unnofficial collabs, we are getting noticed for the right reasons by the right people and you also gotta keep in mind that NG itself isn't as popular as it used to be. I believe getting 1,500+ views on each collab is a victory in itself. You check the reviews from our recent collabs, the majority are five stars. The more effort and planning we put into a collab, the more views we get. Also for example, when we did the Kim Jong-Un Collab, we had a ton of viewers instantly, because of the fact North Korea and the following themes were trending at the moment (Not saying that we're trend followers at all in the least, but it helped for this specific collab). That being the themes such as Kim Jong-Un's Birthday, The Interview being pulled and then finally released, The Sony and North Korean Internet hacks. We got a lot of views from that collab just because it was current news. Not because it featured Sonic, Mario, Adventure Time, etc...
We're an acquired taste. We have an extremely dedicated group of members. Not gonna lie, I sometimes ask myself why I still make this brand of flash cartoons. Even though it's full of old inside jokes, I LOVE Clock Movies! I'm working on getting the comedy in my movies, or flash collab part's humor MORE universal with just a hint of old inside jokes still intact. I'm gonna be a Clock beyond if we do or do not even have a designated site or forum to communicate on. I've grown up so much with this community and believe in it, and it's ability to attract and influence newer people. It's got this beautiful mystique about it. To newcomers it may be completely out there, but once you start looking into it, it's almost insanely connected, well prepared, and thought out. It's because our core members have the passion and belief that there is a purpose behind all of this. No matter how crazy it sounds to outsiders. To me, we are the Looney Tunes of the internet. We have the ability, and the talent. We just gotta keep producing work and keep a steady presence on Newgrounds. We gotta keep up with Holiday Collabs, Clock Day, Flash Flood, and trending event Collabs. When or if ever NG stops being a thing, we're gonna have to work even harder having a presence on outlets such as YouTube.
Preach it, brother
Quote from: DurianClock;1980377Hell, Ki1o later became LeafClock.
I love how this little factoid keeps coming up, because it's not true at all. At one point LeafClock was known as KiwanoClock, which is a kind of melon. I made a thread accusing him of being Ki1o because you know, ki-wan-o, it sounds similar. It was a joke that somehow turned into folklore.
The one thing I've never understood about the Clock Crew, and which is showing in this thread, is the elitism it always seemed to generate. True, behavior like that is probably inherent to any form of community, but it always seemed especially funny to me that on a website where teenage boys gather to animate dick jokes and objects with fucking clocks on them there would form these aggressively snobbish social structures. At its core, the Clock Crew is just an extremely silly enterprise, and the contrast between that and the often deadly serious and overly dramatic attitudes regarding things like perceived status, particular websites and secessions, is hilarious.

I think this is the most intellligent point made about the clockcrew (in this particular thread.) . Also why it's still so addicting. Longevity elitism, the promise that you'll get respect if you stick around longer. Additionally the lore/history which plays a big part in the way people feel like they need to act. Hell, there was an evolution for most of the clocks back thing:
*Noob- You come in, ask stupid questions, do some awful flashes and talk like an idiot. (get made fun of.)
*Average noob- You've been in the clockcrew long enough where people don't call you a noob, you've become better at not acting like an idiot.
*Senior- You love making fun of new members, talking about the good old days when you were new and being an asshole.
Also what's up Greyclock? I remember you.
On a side note to this conversation: This has been a pretty good nostalgic thread. And it's really cool to see people still hard at work. It's also really cool to see people I haven't thought of or talked too in ages still posting/making flash movies. I think it's important to note that through all the drama (drama being partly why this place has sustained a sufficient entertainment value.) old users still creating. To use the analogy "beating a dead horse" would be partly correct. But I like the idea that clockcrew manages to revive and then kill said horse over and over. There's something very impressive with the dedication of long time members (necromancers.). This dip into nostalgia has been a nice break from real life. So thanks bros {{{CC}}}} and what not.

Clockgrounds was made by AtomicClock, though he was more casually known as Zen. Virus and Atomic kind of looked similar and both were kind of a dangerous biohazard type character, so it's easy to mix them up.
I'm not gonna quote Durian's long ass post but agree whole heartedly. I guess I was part of WTFnoob because I didn't wanna deal with all the changing. Although back then CC was changing for the worse, now it's for the better. I think a lot of those guys would be pleasantly surprised if they could see what it became now.

1. wow grey, i never knew that YOU created the ''leaf clock is ki1o'' legend/myth! thats epic. and indeed, the kiwano did match with the ki1o, so it was clever.

Ah, that explains it then.
edit: also bb10 plz quit posting.
virus made original .net or so he tells me
Actually the original clockcrew.net was THE original clock site, before clockcrew.cc was around. ClearClock took it over after the official site moved. Bio made the one we're all talking about though. Maybe my biohazard comment threw people off? Just to clarify:
BiologicalClock was basically the earth with a clock on it. He was very well respected member and all around nice guy. He made the second and better known clockcrew.net that all those brats flocked to, though he was somewhat involved in the original one with Clear.
AtomicClock was that yellow circle with the three black triangles symbol that you see on nuclear stuff, with a clock on it. He was also known as Zen. He made Clockgrounds and also stole the title of oldest clock from Bio (In 2002 Bio was 32 and Zen was 39).
VirusClock was a blue circle with a digital clock and the biohazard symbol beneath it. I thought he was a pretty talented Flash artist, but I don't remember him doing anything particularly noteworthy besides making good Flash. Although bear in mind I was only around until 2003, maybe 2004 so he may have gone on to do something I don't know about. Also it's been eleven years, I've picked up some bad habits over the years and my memory's not perfect.
And as far as elitism goes, I won't deny some of us older clocks can be a little elitist in the same way your grandparents can. We're always gonna think we were the best generation. But most of us never cared if you've been a member for a week or a year, it's about what you did. There were plenty of noobs that everyone liked right off the bat (Biggs, Moxie, Leek, Arctic) and there were people that were around for a long time that most people didn't like (Cranberry, RedPlum, Yoohoo). And even the new guys that were stupid and annoying, most of us always let it slide and just ignored them. When the old site went down some of us decided well alright, we'll let them have Clock Crew and we'll go do our own thing. But then you see these brats running their cockholes about the people that left. Then they said they were what the CC is all about. That just really burned a lot of us. They were true clocks and we weren't just because we decided we'd rather try a new endeavor with our friends instead of hang out with a bunch of little brats who didn't even know the first thing about Flash? If leaving someone alone even after they destroyed something you loved, and then only firing back when they try to tarnish your reputation is elitism, then sorry I was elitist I guess. I always thought of it more as defending my honor. I don't care when you joined the CC, but don't go around pretending you're better than me when you're the reason Orange isn't around anymore.
I even noticed one douchebag on Bio's site pretending he was an old school member, saying he was Apricot and he all of a sudden just decided to come back the minute the old site went down. Funny cos ApricotClock was a double account of mine and when I asked him stuff only Apricot (or you know, anyone that was around on the old site) could've answered he couldn't.
By the way, if anyone wants to be Apricot, that's fine with me. Both versions of him are in Durian's big group shot and a lot of people complain that all the good fruits are taken and have to resort to some obscure fruit or think of something else. It's a shame to see such a good character go unused. Just don't pretend to be me.
Anyways, I promise that's the last time I'll rant about it. I didn't mean to come off as elitist or anything. And I'm not trying to justify what I did at WTFnoob either, just trying to explain it a little and show people why they did what they did. If I agreed with what they were doing I wouldn't have left. You guys all seem like cool people and I apologize if I insulted anyone or made them feel like I was talking about them when I was talking about the brats that overran the old site and inhabited the ones that popped up after. I hope you guys know I don't think everyone who joined the site a few months before it went down is an asshole, only the ones that acted like assholes. Same goes for those of you from Bio or Zen's sites, I know there were a few good apples in there.

Not that it matters, as I still haven't gotten Flash again. It might take me a little while to get the hang of it again too, I haven't touched it in ten years. Flash 8 might be all new and scary to me. Even though it wasn't the newest version I used Flash 4 back then. Not to mention I don't have an actual computer anymore, just a tablet.

but yea virus doesnt know what hes talking about. he made some site with magic but that was after all this crap you guys are talking about
I don't know any MagicClocks. Virus might've done something, I'm not trying to sell him short. But he most certainly did not create either clockcrew.nets that I was around for, and I remember someone in the blast chat yesterday saying they knew Virus and that Virus was claiming he made the original. The original was the original site before the original clockcrew.cc was around. The second was Clear. The third was Bio, so if Virus did make a clockcrew.net it was the fourth version.
this is a very interesting thread.
i gotta ask:
did grandfather clock got involved in kiddie porn, or he just trolled the site with the ''FBI pedo-trap site'' ?
i also recall sniper clock, or an old clock (the first iron clock, not sarez) being involved on illegal activities and therefore the CC permabanned him.
does anyone remember such a story, or its just a myth?
was magic clock a harsh admin/moderator? because an old clock told me that he was fair, but stern.
and that he also banned a few folks sometimes.
also, i really liked zen's ''atomic bar'' cartoons. it had the best bar jokes, adapted in flash movies!
i wonder, why did he called himself ''zen''? i mean he was an atomic symbol....
(i just re-remembered that after seeing the zen/virus clockcrew site dispute)

I know he's just curious, but damn I don't know everything about the CC's history, I've missed over a decade of it. What's all this he was saying about Sniper being involved in illegal activities though? Is he talking about the original Sniper or did someone try to steal his identity too? I really love that you guys have that registry now so newcomers won't steal a classic clock's name. I'd be hella pissed if someone tried to steal IrnBru's name.
Also on a side note about that, CantaloupeClock was also me. When I decided I didn't want to be Glock anymore I was Cantaloupe for like a week or two before I decided to go with Spud. So that's two good fruits up for grabs if you know anyone looking to join, wants to be a fruit, and doesn't want to be some obscure, foreign fruit that no one's ever heard of.

changed it after like 3 months. good lad. and then he disappeared forever. RIP VolcanoClock 2012-2012
come for the laughs stay for the gay sex
I remember on the old .cc I signed up as Peach.
Yeah that didn't work out at all..
Quote from: GreyClock;1980380I love how this little factoid keeps coming up, because it's not true at all. At one point LeafClock was known as KiwanoClock, which is a kind of melon. I made a thread accusing him of being Ki1o because you know, ki-wan-o, it sounds similar. It was a joke that somehow turned into folklore.
Well damned, had me convinced. Then again I was young and didn't question too much. :P
My bad, I guess someone did end up using Cantaloupe. I was Cantaloupe for like two weeks before I came up with Spud, but I never put anything on NGs under that name. I guess I just figured cos IrnBru and NineBall are both in the registry and they were the same guy someone did it with Cantaloupe too. It always kind of bothered me that perfectly good fruit and vegetable names were going unused because someone would sign up and only post once or twice before vanishing and other people wanted to use them. When I was in between names I considered using Lime and Pumpkin and they were both claimed but not really being used.
I did think it was weird that someone who never knew my cousin would upload his avatar. The picture looked like his Moxie style design but I guess it wasn't. Thank you to the older members who set Volcano straight, nothing against him but you don't steal a dead man's name and don't speak on a subject you know nothing about. IrnBru was an incredibly active member during his time. But he came from a kind of screwed up home, that's why he lived with me for a little while back then. While he had a lot of friends in the CC (biggs and him were pretty tight, prolly why he told Volcano to step off) he seemed to rub a lot of people the wrong way. When he moved back to Springfield the computer at his house was shit and there internet got shut off every other month. Not having not as much access along with not being particularly well-liked by some people I think kind of just made him get bored with it.
Quote from: SpudClock;1980461I know he's just curious, but damn I don't know everything about the CC's history, I've missed over a decade of it. I really love that you guys have that registry now so newcomers won't steal a classic clock's name.
i know, and thanks for your help. your answers help me with my questions that i had about the CC's past.
also, im talking about the original sniper clock. i heard a rumour(many years ago), that he was involved in bad stuff, and therefore the CC discharged him/permabanned him.
like i previously said, i dont know alot about this, and it could be simply an urban legend.

@miraclepoop: dude, i was asking everyone on this thread, if they knew anything about magic-clock, i wasn't asking just spud clock for this.

This was a good thread and I'm bumping it because there's some serious history related discussion here that I'm starting to forget as I'm pushing 30. God what a weird series of events that ultimately defined my adolescence on the internet.
Lol @ mentioning illwillpress.

I've actually been curious about which clocks are actually dead.
Last time I was here, I was trying to figure out what happened to Bio. Through creeping around on the waybackmachine, I think I found his personal site, http://dogvox.com/
It looks like he had kidney failure and eventually stopped posting both on his site (which he blogged on pretty consistently) and his Twitter. So he might have died. I didn't confirm anything though.
:(

The replies are where people hide. Looks like he (probably) isn't dead, just not very internetly active at the mo'
God every time I come back here this is still somehow towards the top. I hope Bio isn't dead. Let's see he was 32 when I was 14 and I'm 31 now. In a year I'll be just as old as he was when I joined. Bio would be 49 or maybe 50 right now if he is still around. And Atomic/Zen is most likely 58 by now. Anyone ever hear from him anymore?
I should think that at 50 the only way he’d be dead would be some kind of unfortunate turn, heart attack kind of deal. Keep the faith- can’t kill a clock.

Nothing creepy about some old guys hiding behind a clockfaced avatar chatting up 14 year old boys.
At least it's less creepy when we do it now, there's a much more balanced teen boy to older creep ratio these days. Back then it was too much boy for just Bio and Zen to handle. And I think there was someone else who was like 30 or pushing 30 when I was a kid but I forget who and I might be remembering that wrong.

I think it was F8L actually.
Anyways speaking of clocks getting diseases and what not, I spent all day in the ER other day. My left arm won't stop shaking unless I'm moving it already, I can't hold it still aside from like a few seconds if I try really hard to. I was pretty relieved to hear they don't think it's Parkinson's even though they can't totally rule it out yet at first. Then they told me they think it's Wilson's Disease. We won't know 100% for sure until all the test results come back but when I looked up Wilson's yesterday and read through the symptoms it was like a checklist of everything wrong with me lately and the copper blood test doesn't look good. It could be copper exposure but I don't see how the hell I could've gotten that when I don't work around it or anything. But I have been assured that when caught early enough, most people with Wilson's live a relatively normal lifespan and most of the people that died from it did because they never sought treatment until it was too late. But the key word there is most. I'm not fishing for a bunch of "aw poor Spud"s here, but it seemed like a good time to mention it while we're sort of on the subject here and it's my thread anyways. Just putting it out there that if I vanish and don't eventually come back again like I usually do, like if 3 or 4 years go by and I still haven't made any kind of pop-in...well...at least take solace in the fact I finally got my arm to stop shaking and I'm partying with Irn Bru and Boysenberry in hell.
But seriously I probably won't die. The only thing Im really worried about is that they usually can't reverse the damage that's already been done. So while I probably won't die I probably will have the Michael J. Fox arm forever. Just my luck that I'm left-handed huh? I just want it documented somewhere here on the very, very low chance that I do. It would be a really morbid but interesting cliff note in our history I think. The only two clocks confirmed to be dead and they were cousins. Freaky right?
I thought Wilson's Disease was the one where you slowly turn into a volleyball.
Seriously though. Your post has left me shuddering! I'm shaking my head in disbelief! Gotta run and play some Quake though. Something about the movie Tremors. Feel better champ!
PS Who died?

Gregory Berry
ALEXANDRIA, Va. â€" Gregory Joseph Berry, 18, of Alexandria, entered eternal rest on Thursday, April 19, 2007, surrounded by family and friends at Inova Fairfax Hospital, following a courageous battle from injuries in a car accident on Dec. 26, 2006. Greg was born in Alexandria, on Oct. 30, 1988.
Greg was a senior at T.C. Williams High School, Alexandria, and previously attended Blessed Sacrament School, Alexandria, and Sacred Heart School, Bennington, Vt. He was also a band member of "Every Fading Memory" and employed at Fairlington Sunoco.
Greg was the dearly beloved son of Timothy L. Berry of Keene, N.H., and Polly A. Berry of Alexandria; brother of Kevin D. Berry of Alexandria, and April Berry of Cameron, N.C.; and grandson of Edward C. Murphy, USAF Ret., Alexandria, and Wilda T. Berry, Arlington. He is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts and cousins in Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, North Carolina, California, Missouri, and Kansas.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home, 1500 W. Braddock Rd., Alexandria, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2007, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Community. Interment will follow at Ivy Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts in memory of Greg be made to either the Trauma ICU at Inova Fairfax Hospital, 3300 Gallows Rd., Falls Church, VA 22042 or CaringBridge through their online donation section or 1995 Rahn Cliff Court, Suite 200, Eagan, MN 55122.
That's him. He stayed with us over the summer of 2002 when his family went back to Virginia and he wanted to stay here in Bennington. He saw me on the old site one day and to my surprise he took an interest when I figured he was going to rip on me for it. He was only really active that summer, he later moved to Springfield and eventually made it back to Virginia with his family, where he seemed much happier. Everyone who gets out of Bennington is much better off, this town is like ground zero of the small town opiate crisis. We're that little Vermont town that was on the front page of the New York Times several years back, I shot dope with that girl in the picture back in the day. Sucks he got in a car crash but honestly he for sure would've OD'd if he never got outta here. If this place can turn me into a junkie Greg never would've stood a chance.
Seriously though I only said that because how freaky would it be if the only two clocks that we for sure know are dead are related if it did end up happening? I'm really very likely not going to die, the people that die from Wilson's usually only do because they never sought treatment or did it way too late. And there is still a chance, slim as it may be, that this isn't even Wilson's. It could just be copper exposure but I don't work in a factory or anything like that so I don't see how I could've been exposed to copper. Wilson's is where your organs don't secrete enough copper into your bloodstream and instead they retain it. Very unpleasant but usually not fatal in a young person who came in and caught it early enough.
I'm sorry man I can't actually read, don't get all up in shaky arm about it.
These jokes working for you at all?
IrnBru never forget. But we did forget, didn't we.
I'm still shooketh over BlueGasMask. I still can't believe he did it.
RIP :'(

Yeah I prefer the jokes to sympathy honestly, save that shit for if I actually do die.
Like I said he was only around for that summer really. He was actually pretty well-known, though not all that well-liked by some, during the time he was around. In particular MountainDewClock had a major hard-on for him, which is kinda funny since whether he realized it or not that was pretty much his status among the crew too. (MDC wouldn't believe how many IMs and PMs I got on the down low thanking me for threatening to ban him, he always thought he was hot shit when a lot of people couldn't stand him either.) But IrnBru was hardly a legend or anything like that. I wouldn't expect anyone that wasn't around back then to have any idea who he was.
Who was BlueGasMask? Sorry I don't mean to be insensitive, it's just there's like a decade of stuff I missed out on here. I didn't think we had anyone confirmed dead besides Bru. Statistically speaking though, all our current and former members probably add up to at least a thousand something. Among all those guys that just vanished, there's gotta be more out there that have died over the years. Hell there's probably others that died in car crashes too. Statistically speaking again, that's the most common way for people to go when they're young I'm pretty sure.
If I die, I'll be sure to post about it here

I know I really should've gotten a real computer by now, but I still have nothing but a shitty Samsung tablet. It's a newer one at least, not the same one I made this thread with, but still a piece of shit nonetheless. So I still can't watch any flash. Only reason I could watch Clock Wars was because someone put those on YouTube. Was he a real guy? The comments kinda make it seem like the whole thing is a joke.

Great thread Spud. A lot of really spot on history here; some of which I forgot. However, we got into illwillpress’ account because Onion and I had an inside man at Newgrounds. Onion worked with the admin (I still won’t give his name) and then I animated the movie. It took me longer to find a good enough picture of a rim-job to splice in the Flash than it did to motion tween a squirrel. In 2006/07 we were actually going to do the same thing to Tom Fulp with a Pico game animated in the style of synj. Then I bailed on Onion because I was graduating college and had to do real life stuff.
Another thing I forgot. We got Banana Lock’s phone number and I prank called him incessantly.
:500steak: :500steak: :500steak: :500steak: :500steak: :500steak:
DodgerClock actually called my university to complain about internet terrorism. Nothing happened with that because no one gave a shit about being PC back then.
If I can dig up the WTFNOOB time trials I’ll post those. Wade was pissed about that.
.cc 18 years ago was awesome because you were a part of something really stupid but with a lot of great creative people. I met one clock IRL and that was RCCola/Victrolaface. Back in 2007 we both happened to be living in Chicago and I recognized him on the El train. He was sitting in the back, drawing of course. Good dude.
What up Grog
So RCCola really wasn't just Tritoch on another account huh? Damn he really did have me fooled. I guess Onion did too. He told me he just got lucky and guessed the password but I guess that is kinda stupid now that I think about it. All the haters and fans he had, you'd think at least one of them would've tried that earlier using foamy as the password.
Why does it not surprise me that you did the animation too? Onion told me that was all him and you just did the voice acting. Why did I believe that guy so much? He acted like he was some kinda rebel but I actually talked to a girl and a dude from his high school who told me in real life he was just this quiet, preppy Aeropostale, Abercrombie and AE (a triple A prep) wearing kid who acted nothing like his online persona. I mean, we all probably did that to some extent but I don't feel like I ever really hid my personality the way he did. But I guess in the end there's just no telling how authentic anyone is so I just took most people at their word.
Now I'm kinda bummed I missed out on the Banana thing. Back in the day Soup showed me some real life photos of Banana. He always looked like he was about to cry in them. Wish I still had one of them. I always got the impression he was one of those kids everyone fucked with in high school. I kinda felt sorry for him after that. I think Soup did too (and he would actually know, I just assumed) but it's hard to resist the urge to mess with Banana the way he acts online.
That's cool you guys stuck together for a few more years at least. I mostly bailed for real life stuff too. I know I act like it was mostly because of the direction WTFnoob was going in but honestly halfway through high school I developed a much healthier real life. I got my first girlfriend, started hanging out with cool kids, and was terrified that if any of them caught a glimpse of CC or anything associated with it I would go back to being sort of an outsider. It's hard to describe, I was never really an outcast but never really fully accepted by them until then either. Kids today don't know how easy they have it. It's sort of cool to be a nerd now and all this anti-bullying shit. High school was a lot more vicious in my day.
WTFnoob time trials? What are those?

On the other subject I brought up (hence the stupid line thing), I won't know better until the 31st, and even then the doc might just order more tests and not give me anything definitive at the appointment. But I don't have the Michael J. arm thing going anymore, which leads me to believe that I probably don't have Wilson's Disease. It still spasms every now and then but I can live with that. I was about ready to jump in front of a bus when it first started. I don't know how people with Parkinson's do it. I wasn't sleeping, couldn't concentrate on anything, never been more miserable in my life (seriously how the fuck do those people sleep?). Still have no idea what caused it, maybe the severe tension on my shoulder from a previous injury? Some sort of weird psychosomatic thing my body was doing because my neck and shoulder are almost always tense and in pain (that's how I got started with the Oxys by the way)? I'm glad it's probably not Wilson's but now I really don't have the slightest idea why my arm was non-stop shaking for a week. I almost fell off the wagon it was bothering me so much.
