I was in the process of typing up my own (pretty boring) origins when it hit me just how fucking old I am. I joined some 14 odd years ago (nearly half my lifetime) and when it comes to me as a person, not all that much has changed in the interim. I'm still the same immature asshole (although it's no longer age-appropriate), just with a little more knowledge and a little less wonder.
I was thinking about "wonder" the other day. How (it at least seems like) there's nothing left to explore. Not in a literal, Cook or De Gama type way, but in the sense that I (think I) figured out the fundamental workings of the world. (Relax, I'm not claiming some ultimate wisdom here.) It's just that there's nothing that would really surprise me anymore. Something that would turn my world upside down and open up a whole new range of possibilities. On some basic level I can still get excited about the idea of a trip to the faraway Taklamakan Desert in western China, but at the same time there's the crushing realization that it's just another pile of sand. People live on its outskirts at this very moment, they are fucking and shitting. A snake ate a rat. A dog farted. A soft breeze moved a grain of sand about an inch in whatever direction. If you get my meaning, in a broader sense. In other words: the parameters of existence, and therefore the limitations of existence, are abundantly clear.
I signed up as icecube but icecube was taken so I switched to iceblock but that’s the same thing but I kinda got away with it for a bit but not really then I was issued an ultimatum by the admin of the time to switch my username or be permabanned so I switched to a drawing of myself because I am the least creative motherfucker who has ever lived
Originally my plan was to be 8-ball Clock, but I think that was already in use by somebody.
I was already using the username Topcatyo and sorta using a humanoid cat-figure as an avatar online anyways, so when I joined, I decided to not change a thing and just morphed that character into a ball shape.
Viola.

somehow i was first in line at the dmv in 2005 and got this cherry vanity plate
but the sorceress standing behind me thought i was an asshole and cursed me with having to figure out how to animate a character who's much wider than he is tall
I joined the clock crew for fun...boy how times change.
Golden Clock has always been my biggest Clock bud forever and I wanted to be cool like him.
