I got a friend that's really into world music
you guys gotta hear this shit

the vocals are this almost gogol bordello-ian mixture of english and what I'm assuming is Somalian, the music is this bouncy african drum/hip-hop fusion, and the background noise crops up about a third of the way through with this fucked up synth/didgeridoo noise that sounds, at times, almost lovecraftian.

I was very disappointed with Fleet Foxes. First time through I hated it, after a second visit I realized it wasn't as terrible as I made it out to be, but I still couldn't enjoy it. The music is great, the lyrics are decent, but the vocals absolutely ruin it for me. The choral effects make it very hard for me to enjoy as it makes the songs lose their personality. If they made an instrumental album or one without the damn vocal effects I might like it quite a bit.

And I'm calling it: Pitchfork is going to hate the next album, regardless of what it sounds like.

Oh, almost forgot:

The vocals? Wow. I mean I respect what you think and all but they're beautiful. I mean Robin Pecknold's got this epic and vast voice that just reaches out and fills the room. I, and most people, shy away from acapella/choir type singing but in FF's case, it works when they all sing and it's a nice way to introduce a song if it's at the beggining.

Also yeah Pitchfork would probably have moved on by the time they have a new album out and think they're sooo last year or two years ago, same with VW.

Well I guess that's where you and I differ. I think it's cold and unfeeling, which is what folk shouldn't be. To each his own, I guess.

But no, they won't have "moved on", they aren't going to like it because of how popular Fleet Foxes are now.
