It always seems to appear out of nowhere. What did everyone think of the first episode, 'Tonsil Trouble'?
It kinda sucked tbqh.
The whole Jimmy Buffet thing was so tacked on, and the running joke about nobody caring about AIDs anymore, and the whole bit with Magic Johnson and the cash felt like they were trying to say something but it mostly ends up being an unfunny non-sequitur. And I'm sick of Kyle and Cartman arguing with each other- that extremely lengthly, unfunny conversation about Cartman saying "I'm not just sure, I'm HIV positive," was awful. Cartman saying that was like the first somewhat funny thing in the episode besides Butters, and they just ran that shit into the ground.
I hope the next episode is better.
I can't believe they killed off clyde frog though.
it was teh lame
I think the new dependency on pop-culture references, AIDS jokes and similar nonsense have finally brought me to the realization that I genuinely dislike South Park.
Also ive been watching allot of venture bros lately (both seasons 2 times in a row) and south park isn't really that funny compared to the venture bros.
let's circle jerk waiting for season 3 instead!

Venture Brothers is my favorite show ever, I was just watching it actually.
South Park doesn't compare, but let's start out own thread we're too cool for this one.

Let's make it happen!
Its Season 12 not Series 12 and the episode sucked.
I really hate New South Park, Old South Park was just so much classier somehow.
Last season was awesome and that is what I think.
I didn't think it was so awful. It wasn't funny, but it wasn't offensively unfunny like with a lot of episodes in the last series, e.g. the imaginationland ones. They really did milk the "I'm HIV positive" thing dry, though, which was a pity seeing as it made me laugh hard the first time he said it.
i'm pissed about clyde frogs death.
that's really all i got from the episode
Sucked.

I highly doubt that this was the end of him; he's a stuffed frog, you just sew his head back on. Besides...
IT'S JUST A CARTOON.Anyways, I liked the episode. Everyone I know except for a few said it sucked, but I guess I really just wanted to see a new South Park.
I mean, when I told SP fans who missed it that
"Cartman gave Kyle AIDS", they got these weird looks on their faces that was pretty priceless.
Quote from: WhiteClock;1253545There is a heavy belief that Magic Johnson bought a cure for the AIDs virus.
They pretty much throw the social commentary right in your face so a child could figure it out "AIDS can be kept at bay if you have tons of money for expensive treatment like Magic does but Africans have no money so it shouldnt be so expensive blah blah blah"
I thought it was pretty good. It was kind of like some of the older ones in that it was mostly just a stupid story. It certainly wasn't amazing or anything though!!
Somehow, with the latest seasons, though I continually enjoy Matt and Trey's work, I'm starting to think that maybe the show should just be canceled before it has the chance to descend into the same bland, mediocrity (or just plain stupidity) that The Simpsons did.
I liked it but it wasn't very good compared to most other episodes.
Saw the latest episode. Once again, not nearly their best effort, but still better than the last outing.
not very good
what i miss, is a south park episode, that takes place IN south park
without these journeys around the world they do everytime today
I'm pretty sure that Matt and Trey have broken their respective funny fuses.
Quote from: CerealClock;1259100what i miss, is a south park episode, that takes place IN south park

Like in old south park episodes :/
I found that aids episode pretty funny, I found it funny that the solution to aids is to throw money at it.
the britney episode was horrible up until the end, at which point, I felt like having corn.
I fell asleep watching the second episode.

AIDS stopped being really funny after Jared Has Aids.
There tends to be a couple of gold episodes every season. Matt and Trey will come up with something, just have faith.
I havent seen the second episode, but the first one was pretty shitty. Only a few parts here and there made me laugh, but overall: No.
Last episode was pretty good. I liked how it actually felt like some of the older episodes, revolving around people in South Park and how the parents over-react and interact with the kids. I also loved all of the references to Heavy Metal.
(https://clockcrew.net/talk/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi2.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fy19%2Fmike18xx%2FMovie-Poster-Heavy-Metal.jpg&hash=5f9d6d244cb410778c1de7cb163ed87ffe9b9726)
yeah the latest one made me laugh. i thought it was all pretty clever, and i'm pretty biased against south park now.
the other episodes sucked though
Better, but it still will never be like it used too.
I haven't seen any episodes for a long time. The heavy metal one got me laughing really hard.
I enjoyed it
Good episode.
I can't believe they actually licensed music from Heavy Metal.
i thought kitty was a female
Quote from: PIRATECLOCK;1265621i thought kitty was a female
His name is Mr. Kitty. I think in the episode with the giant snake they mention that. Cartman shouts 'You stay away from my Mr. Kitty!'
Which is weird, because in the meteor shower trilogy Kitty goes around trying to get other cats to fuck him or her. Do you think Mr. Kitty is gay like Stan's dog?
This cat episode makes me feel like I'm watching adult swim
I liked it too, the references went over my head but I liked the way they reproduced the 80's western animation style e.g. TMNT. I've got to see that film now.
Quote from: əədɹnls;1265416Good episode.

It was definitely worth it :)
My mom and sister walked in while I was watching the episode with the thousands of colossal tits.
did they say they were most rockin?
The newest one is not only the best but also the only good one this SEASON (not Series)
Quote from: PatriotClock;1268497The newest one is not only the best but also the only good one this SEASON (not Series)
we British people say "series" because we're not dick suckers
i loved the animation humour for nerds. weightless animation ftw! :D
I watched Heavy Metal and it was really good - kind of like 2000-AD but animated. The animation was very impressive on the bomber sequence (the bit homaged with Gerald's 'Jewish Princess' plane). A good, tongue-in-cheek humour, too. The cartoon titties were kind of embarrassing and ruined it slightly, though.

the new episode was ef'ing awesome
shoot, missed it, but it sounds good
...thanks to Max Payne 2, I think I might have even missed House MD this week.
EDIT:
Wait, I think this may belong in the SP thread. Maybe.
I wouldn't doubt it. South Park hasn't been good for years.

I quite enjoy South Park. They occasionally have a really great episode and they almost always make me laugh multiple times, which is more than I can say for a lot of the crap I've seen lately. I think it's about on par with a lot of the better stuff Adult Swim has to offer and certainly a hell of a lot better than some of the absolute shit they're peddling.
After 12 seasons, I think they're doing a pretty good job. Sometimes it seems like they're reaching for plot, but that's bound to happen to anyone from time to time. After having explored their own little universe for a few years, they've moved on to something more along the lines of social commentary, because the world at large always provides something to talk about.
Some of their referential episodes are their funniest ones, though. If you haven't seen the documentary about the world's highest Donkey Kong score, go watch it, then watch the episode about the world's biggest shit. It may seem like just a bunch of pop culture references, but they're just commenting on what they see around them. I'd much prefer that to the same old thing every week.
South Park Tay Zonday is really creepy.
Quote from: CrustClock;1268595The cartoon titties were kind of embarrassing and ruined it slightly, though.
Heeahahaha, did that make you blush? Those tits were most rockin.
Canada on Strike was pretty awesome except for them reusing the "I'm not your buddy guy" joke. It was really great the first time but then it just got tired. They did the same thing with the HIV positive thing. Have they decided that repetition is cool?
Quote from: CadillacClock;1271299Maybe I missed some of it, but they only did it twice when Terrance and Phillip were talking?
They did it three times in total!!!
I laughed the first time but the second time I was a bit oh man.
That one was great. South park is still keeping at it.
newest episode sucked ass.
Putting overused YT fads in there was unneccesary.
MIYA HI, MIYA HU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111
Numa Numa has already seen the last light of day, thanks.
I wasn't aware youtube even existed when the numa-numa craze started.
Numa Numa started on NG anyway, didn't it? Also, Tay Zonday became famous because of anon...
Quote from: Marlix Wright;1271710I wasn't aware youtube even existed when the numa-numa craze started.
It didn't.
So I was pretty pissed when a cable channel complied a list of top internet stars and made no mention of NG at all when talking about Numa.
I wasn't impressed with the "in my butt" thing because they carbon copied it instead of really parodying it. Also, Star wars kid was ages before youtube.
I loved Chris Crocker
We made 10 million theoretical dollars.
I think you guys aren't taking into account how much time we spend on the internet vs. how much time a normal person spends on the internet.
I bet regular people aren't still burned out on Numa Numa, because it was just a funny video somebody e-mailed them once a couple years ago.
Bad show last week. I didn't like the message about the WGA, and it wasn't very funny. The internet-stars scene annoyed me seeing as it's just pandering to the internet-savvy fans (I know it was linked to the WGA analogy but whatever way you look at it, the joke is that you recognise the people/animals). The whole message just seemed contrary in a really arbitrary way. Do Matt and Trey really think that the strike was that greedy? If so it's not showing much support for writers less successful than them who actually DO struggle.
Quote from: hJANKE hWILL;1270896Heeahahaha, did that make you blush? Those tits were most rockin.
They were just silly. edit: 'embarrassing' for the film, not me personally.
The HIV episode was funny. The parts where everything was serious made me uncomfortable, tho. The rest was pretty good. The part where Kyle stops and starts yelling at Cartman about how AIDS is not funny was cool, too.
I don't care, still makes me laugh. Although, in the Brittany Spears one, the ending was the MOST OBSCURE REFERENCE EVER!
They never had you read "The Lottery" in English?

The next episode looks like it may please me! I hope it stats in their town, instead of becoming about them traveling to Hell or Spain or visiting the easter bunny.
this "stay in the town" thing is a weird arbitrary thing that you guys made up
they went to ethiopia in the first goddamned season
and the easter special was one of the best episodes last season

Eek! a Penis
The Lottery isn't a book it was an article, a short story.
Also this new episode sucked too. There were a few good parts but overall another letdown.
Stand and Deliver was a good movie.
Quote from: PatriotClock;1278448The Lottery isn't a book it was an article, a short story.
So a story has to have an certain number of pages to be officially a 'book'? I read The Lottery in book form, not in a newspaper.

Same here, a cover to cover kid's book type deal.
But most people I've talked to, internet or otherwise, didn't get it.
I'm glad he is Mr. Garrison again, Mrs. Garrison was getting really old.
I kind of feel like although these new episodes are fairly good I've got so used to South Park that it's kind of become a formula and lots of things I should find funny I see coming a mile away.
I did enjoy the Grapes of Wrath references.
Quote from: Predator;1285389I did enjoy the Grapes of Wrath references.

Kind of like how 99% of the viewers of Family Guy don't understand a thing that's going on.
Quote from: Predator;1286705Almost everyone in America wouldn't get them, regardless of whether they were South Park viewers or not. That's what is really sad.
And why is this?
I liked how they took the idea of historical actors never breaking character to insane extremes, but that was about all I liked this week. I really didn't find the Butters/ Cartman subplot funny or interesting in the slightest.
Quote from: Captain Falcon;1286755And why is this?
Because
The Grapes of Wrath was both a good book and movie, and someone who has not read or seen one of the two should be shot in the balls.

I've been liking this season so far.
