So I realized I never even registered my 360, so I just did that and the repair thing is all set up.
now i just have to wait two months for a repaired xbox, baller.
lock this thread thanks.
my xbox red ringed. im not sure if it still under warranty or not because i bought it second hand.
what do i do
Sign into your windows live account on Xbox.com, try and register the device.
If it works, then grats.
If not, then try and contact the owner?
edit: When I registered my 360, it told me my warranty was still good, it'll do the same for you.
ive gotten the rings twice now, but i turned off the system and they went away.
Let me tell you the story of what happened.
I put in GH3, went to quick play, scrolled over TTFAF and it said I had 3 starred it before and gotten like 250k points.
I've never beaten TTFAF so I was like "wut."
well hovering over the song, the menu got these weird lines all over the screen and it made this noise, like a noise missingno. would make.
well, i turned off my system, turned it back on and nothing happened.
i look and i got red rings.
I eject the game, put in rock band and it worked fine.
I even played all the way through wave of mutilation and then I'm looking for a new song to play and bam, same shit happens again. Same lines, same noise, everything.
I again turn it off, take out the game, turn it back on and this time I got to the little X spinning thing in the beginning and it fucked up.
I can fuck with it for maybe a minute before it locks up.
mine caused my whole basement to powersurge.
Heres a song straight from AOTS for this particular situation

HOWWWWWW
where do i go to register the device?
edit: i think i've found it
I think my 360 is about to red ring. Its making funny noises.
The shitty 360 made me vow to never buy another game console again.
so i just called up microsoft and they are going to repair it for free. i'm so happy
Had my used Xbox for almost 2 years now and it has never red ringed or anything worse than freezing which rarely happens, it used to over heat alittle but i fixed that with an external cooling fan. But my friends have had them before so I know how bored you must be without it. Sorry it ringed-red.
All this talk about the red ring is starting to scare me now. If I ever get a 360, I don't want to live in constant fear of the ring.
Stop it guys :(.
Can an XBOX red ring more than once?
why is this happening in the first place, wouldnt microsoft have noticed during testing that its unstable. No they have hundreds of people to deal with.
Quote from: Joey;1264126lock this thread thanks.
no!!!!
yeah mine has aswell and microsoft are now "analysing my request"
it red ringed
simple as dat
ye im not going to get my 360 before GTA IV comes out on April 29tn ;c
Self-repair is fun.
do you guys leave it outside in the rain or something, ive had mine for 2 years and hasn't even freezed a single time.
I had my first one for three days before it happened because I'm just that greattt

Hmm, how can Wii help?
It is written, only Microsoft can defeat the Red Ring of Death.

Yeah I was thinking this, Mine has never froze or anything.
Neglect has led to the demise of your 360.
You hadn't been online in 39 days last time I'd checked.

I read somewhere if a 360 got it once theres a I think 50% (have no idea on the number) chance of it red ringing again after its fixed.

That sucks and it sounds like, based on some of your stories, that it is the truth.

That's just live, I play Rock Band every day, how do you think I'm so baller at it?
The moment I try to play something else, my Xbox rejected it.

More like hundreds of thousands.
