there's like 3 super bosses at the end
super hard :(, i dont remember if you can grind your levels after killing sephiroth though.  It becomes extremely slow.  A while ago i was trying to do it.  I got into a nice routine with cloud, but the other characters were all dead.  Technically i could have killed the guy, but i wanted my other guys to level up... so i gave up and never really did anything.

My camera's out of batteries and, if I haven't left Midgar in my thread yet, it's going to take an eternity to get through the whole game in pictures.

53 hours did seem like forever.  I mean, I played Final Fantasy X for longer, but I still enjoyed it (I guess that one did something right or something).

The final fight was ridiculous though.
HARHARHAR, I SHALL LAUNCH A GIGANTIC FLARE FROM OUTSIDE THE MILKYWAY ONTO THE EARTH DESPITE THE FACT THAT THIS BREAKS THE LAWS OF PHYSICS AND I SHALL DESTROY AT LEAST HALF OF THE PLANETS IN THE SOLAR SYSTEM JUST TO HIT THE SUN SO THERE WILL BE A FLARE FROM THE SUN THAT WILL EXACTLY HIT YOU GUYS AND NO FURTHER.
OFCOURSE YOU WILL WAIT ABOUT HALF AN HOUR AND OFCOURSE I CAN DESTROY PLANETS MORE THAN ONCE, EVEN THOUGH SUMMONING A SINGLE METEOR TO DESTROY THE EARTH TOOK ME WEEKS,

And he did that to me about 3 times, and all I had to do to recover was to use w-magic and the two times curaga on all.

As in, tell me how I thought of the game as a wapanese, or tell my reaction to the part where Aeris died?

I watched unaffected when she was stabbed because I really didn't like her character (I was actually a tad happy, she was always nagging Cloud this way and that), and then I laughed at the horrible dialogue that ensued.

What do I mean by bad dialogue?
I'll type it out, there's a video on Youtube.

This is while Cloud's holding Aeris in her arms:
QuoteCloud:
"...Aeris"
Cloud
"This can't be real!"
Sephiroth
"Do not worry.
Soon the girl will become part of the planet's energy."
"All that is left is to go North.
The 'Promised Land' waits for me over the snowy fields."
Sephiroth
"There will be a new being (then it's cut off by Cloud but you can still read) by uniting with the planet.  As will this girl........"
Cloud
".........Shut up."
Cloud
"The cycle of nature and your stupid plan don't mean a thing."
Cloud
"Aeris is gone."
This is the part that made me laugh:
Quote"Aeris will no longer talk, no longer laugh, cry............or get angry........"
I honestly wish the game had voice-acting so you could hear someone as they awkwardly attempt to make this dialogue sound serious.

this. it's so true, most games nowadays are half-assed attempts at a game that were released a year (if even) after they were started, and usually have guns and explosions. throw in some major cliches and you've got a modern generic videogame.

I agree, but FF7 is still shitty.

Well the shittiest part about FF7 without a doubt is that it made little difference which character you chose, the only differences were the limitbreaks.

The graphics on the characters were quite shitty too.

that was the only thing i had a problem with, really. i swear, because of those graphics i couldn't find that damn battery at the beginning of the game.

By the way, I have just started my first game since the end of Disc 1 in FF7.  At the end of disc 1, I got tired and figured I needed a break, so I played through Ratchet and Clank, which I am also borrowing (but I liked it and will buy it when I get a chance).  Now I'm playing the next game in the series, Going Commando, and I gotta say, I haven't even started the first level but Ratchet's voice is a lot less annoying.

Oh and btw, I think FF6 is the only good one of the franchise, 7 was just milked down by popularity and fangirls.

Yeah, I have to say I like Square Enix's other RPG creations, Kingdom Hearts and The World Ends With You, better. It could be because they're more actiony. I also have liked the comparative lack of grinding required to actually beat those games. I keep playing FF games, going good and then, as inevitable as the tides,
BAM I hit this level wall that takes hours to get over, and that is not fun and/or worth my time.

I'm saying that Portal is literally three hours long, and it is the shit, so that isn't the best example of a games quality.

I think it was that, in its original conception, it was going to be the producer's final fantasy game, thus being called Final Fantasy. However, since it got so much popularity they kept making more and the name stuck.

FF7 is possibly my favourite game of all time. I loved emersing myself in the story and I have fond memories of it.

Also, it took my like 7 years to complete Final Fantasy Adventure on the Game Boy. not 7 solid years mind you. But I got it when I was 10 and finished it when I was 17. Playing it solidly on and off over the years. Great game.
