as i'm sure you know, "industrial music for industrial people" was a slogan thought up by monte cazazza. this phrase gave name to industrial records. this is the first use of the term industrial in this context, and it was used to describe artists under the industrial records label and was broadened to include those who were directly connected to industrial records and its artists.
the intention of throbbing gristle had nothing at all to do with industrial workforces, i dont see how you came up with that.
my point is that industrial was a term to describe a closeknit group of artists, invented by this closeknit group, not a term to describe any music that sounds vaguely like a factory.
