Title: Sad songs that aren't generic rap that tries to have meaning.
Post by: Teapot on May 15, 2008, 12:12:27 AM
I'm sad CC, give me some sad songs that aren't a piece of shit.
By piece of shit I mean anything that attempts to be sad like emo music, or very very bad attempts at rap with meaning. Classical is more helpful to my perspective, but anything is good.
No pop or any bullshit.

Not really sure what you're looking for.

John Cale - Hallelujah
Pink Floyd - The Great Gig In The Sky
Eels - Susan's House
Fleetwood Mac - Silver Springs
Joni Mitchell - One Tin Soldier
No Doubt - Don't Speak (seriously)
Heart - Alone
Voltaire - Feathery Wings
Aaliyah - I Miss You
The Spice Girls - Viva Forever (again, seriously.)

Anything works. I'll just go ahead and take out Spice Girls from it and it's a complete list.

What does "more helpful to my perspective" mean?

Listen to Hawthorne Heights, I've heard they write some really meaningful stuff.

Yes thank you. :)

DONT LET DADDY KISS ME > Whatever the hell that is.

Or I bet.

Meh, I just like different genres of music dependent on how I feel. Bite me. x3

Though I never really like emo music.

Listen to Hawthorne Heights, I've heard they write some really meaningful stuff.
I DID go to dictionary.com so I could help specify what I meant with a direct meaning, since I'm not quite sure how to say it.
However every fucking definition is completely indirect as if they're making metaphors out of every single detail. Then all the 'examples' are using the it again without showing any detail.

I'm just on sketchy terms with emo music, pop, typical stuff like that. I don't see the point in being moved by any music which has some guy with a hitler hair due or some girl nagging about something nobody knows anything about. Seriously.

Mister Blue by that one dutch guy who was dying of aids and such.

When a friend of mine stopped using speed he got into a depression and listened to Mister Blue, quite possibly the saddest song there is (also instrumentally one of the most terrible songs ever made).
