Title: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episodes One (and now Two)
Post by: CaulkClock on May 25, 2008, 05:59:24 PM
If you haven't already guessed from the unnecessarily long title, On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness is the game by those people behind Penny Arcade (http://www.penny-arcade.com/). It's supposedly a "a 3D action-adventure game", but I just call it a point-and-click game. After playing The Demo (http://www.playgreenhouse.com/featuredGame), i'd say that it's a pretty enjoyable romp, even if it's just for the "build your own character" part. I advise at least trying the game, you may like it.

Looks like crap, to be honest. The gameplay footage looks like one of those thrown-together games that they use to boost movie sales and stuff.

Well, I just finished the demo, and I must say that it was a very fun play though. The combat was ace. Check it out for yourself, Clock Crew.

I'm most of the way through the game already, and I love it. The battles took a little getting used to (since they're active time and all), but you can really tell that the PA guys made sure the developers didn't fuck anything up too much. The humor and writing are the obvious stand out, but the rest of the game is pretty damn good, too, especially for a downloadable game.

I do really want to like and play this game. But its the same combat as in Mario and Luigi partners in time. and i fucking HATE that combat system.

It's not really a download system such as Steam, it just seems to be a standard "download this .exe ( or .dmg if you are a faggot)". Buying the game may be a different thing altogether though...
