Tons of people aren't happy with stuff like the removal of the clockification system. However, I find that everybody's just disputing to either bring it back or not, not suggesting an alternate system. While we've got Internetcult to build off on, I still think we can do tonnes to improve Clockcrew.cc. I don't want to propose some gigantic reformation that's supposed to revolutionize the Clock Crew as we know it etc. However, we can start off improving right away by tweaking some small things before we try to move up to other things.
One thing I noticed when I joined was that there were tonnes of other sections of the site besides the forum (arcade, clockopedia, etc). It seems to me like we tried to branch off in a ton of different directions with the site instead of working collectively on each section, but I'm probably wrong. We should start off by just tweaking these sections, since it's a simple thing to do and it will get us moving forward. I put this in the general discussion as opposed to suggestions because it's more than just implementing some new features; it's going to need members involved in maintaining it and building on it.
Duck.fla, camels, etc. were popular because they could be made by almost everybody here, and they were simple to do. I hope we can do the same thing with this. If everyone's up with this, I propose we start off with improving the clockmap (I still show up as a clockfriend there, there should be a search bar, and there are tonnes of inactive members on the map), which will involve both coding and people actually going in and putting in their locations.
Anyway, this is just my two cents. Again, I think working together on making some simple changes could help us move forward and help us with how we can tackle some bigger issues that we've been facing.
You're right, let's all flood NG with spam!
internetcult does all of this

Are you saying that because I made duck.fla I'm not allowed to come here anymore or something? Or that because I visit another site that I shouldn't come here?
What are you trying to say?
I didn't read this topic at all.
Quote from: Honkclock;1362075that still come here for some reason
Why shouldn't they?
Who gives a shit it's two internet sites that are three virtual clicks away.
Why let that pathetic distance create a real one in different clock relationships?
Guys you're hurting my feelings :(
man you guys are dicks. He was just coming up withsome ideas, not forcing anyone to do anything. I think it's great that someone is trying to be constructive instead of insulting everybody elses thinking, like this thread has turned into.
regradless of how good his ideas are and regardless of his time spent in the clockcrew, I think he has the right state of mind

Thanks, I appreciate it.
Quote from: FloppyDisk Clock;1362207Duck.fla and camel day were terrible events.
The point is they were easy to do, so people participated in them.

A search bar and updated usergroups would be nice. i've been looking at the plugin and there's no built in way to do either, it seems. It looks like I could manually go through and fix everyone's colors...but that's not much of a solution. So as to those suggestions - we need someone who can code vBulletin plugins.
As for the inactive members, I could go through and start deleting them, but why? I like seeing bunches of clocks across the world, even if they're not all active on the forums.

Yeah, I was just reaching for a third suggestion with the inactive members thing. Hopefully we can figure some stuff out though. In any case, it'd be good if everybody could put in their locations.

hahahahha
In regards to a way to solve the whole inactive member thing i was thinking maybe you could separate the clockpedia, you know like creating a second thing of past clocks and all thus leading to who is actually still on and who is actually on here still?
But is all this going to be fixed by a new duck .fla?
All we need is intuitiveness (if thats a real word), like the red line art forum on NG. Think of new things rather than the old

Some people have been here in the scene for a longer time than you were animating. YOU of all people need to rethink and probably delete your post.
I have been with the Clockcrew since 2001. Albiet I haven't been around, I still have lurked the forums and talked with people in the ClockCrew. Watch your mouth, you know nothing.
