Wow, does this look awesome. I've used Opera for a while, but the latest update kind of killed many of the parts I liked about it (not having to wait a minute for the process to close, for example.
Google Chrome is the new Open-Source browser from those people who own the Internet. There's so many features I couldn't possibly go through them all, good job the made a comic (http://www.google.com/googlebooks/chrome/index.html).
It looks like the beta will be downloadable at 7pm (http://www.davidnaylor.co.uk/google-chrome-browser-download.html), i'm prepping my F5 key for non-stop refreshing already.

EDIT: Supposedly this link (http://www.google.co.uk/chrome/) may be where it's hosted
Google has had some succesful products, so it's worth a try.

only thing I don't like about WebKit is that it doesn't like vBulletin's fancy dropdowns for some reason.
installed the beta only to have it crash multiple times and unable to load anything
kind of like gmail when it first started out
Sounds to me like you're doing something wrong
ths is th way of the future
I hope the Mac version is taking longer so that it will work better.

hah
any suggestions
I dunno, Google kinda creeps me out the way they have total access to what everyone's looking at. They already keep tabs of everything you search for for marketing data, having a browser for it's just the natural next step.
It's a little too blatant for my liking. :/ Or maybe I'm just a tinhat, I dunno.
Google keeps making the CIA and Homeland Security really jealous.
I'm currently using it and it's...
Faster?
Probably just in my head but I like it so far.

This comic explains why it's faster. It separates everything the browser its doing into its own processes, which makes it able to isolate them from the rest of the memory, and makes it so that they totally go away when you exit them. Most browsers work on a linear set of steps just building on itself, so even if you closed a tab, it would just be a hole in the path and wouldn't be much faster.
It sounds pretty cool, really. It sounds like it could revolutionize internet browsing the way Gmail revolutionized email.
I don't see the big deal about Chrome.
Firefox + Extensions + FreeRAM XP = Same thing.
Example, it said I had 902MB of RAM, used FreeRAM, it freed up 40mb easy, hell, its slowly rising still. 970 at the time of posting
and on the topic of good shit, you guys should look into a program called Registry Mechanic, it kicks ass.
Well if your browser doesn't gum up your RAM to start with, that's sort of a big deal. Plus, the new technologies in Chrome could have other implications.

Hah, you have to install a RAM freeing program just to use Firefox.
Also I think CCleaner does most of the registry fixing for me, I do use it every hour
what do you do to your registry that needs hourly fxing
To me it looks like a more plain Opera. I'll stick to Firefox, since it has more features, add-ons, and I can use my Windows skin on it.
