Edit: I found out how to change the color, but there isn't a "Transparent" option.
That happens if the background is a JPG if it's a BMP it'll go transparent. I'm not sure about the other file types since I always made it a BMP anyway

Using a BMP instead of a JPG for the desktop always works better, and disabling the "active desktop" makes the computer run better. Maybe it improved in XP, but before that the feature was trash to me.
I imagine this is because whole GUI is bitmapped, so a bitmap image is easier for it to deal with.
Okay thanks, also it was a PNG to begin with, not a JPG.
