Remember back in the early days of video gaming, when there were a lot of characters who were twin brothers or sisters, which was a convenient excuse to re-use the same sprite over for two player games? Nowadays, we have much better processing power available and the use of twins is a lot less frequent, but a pair might still pop up here and there in games. Let's list all the video game twins we can think of. Here's some of the more obvious ones.
Mario and Luigi: A DUH!!1!1 When Luigi first appeared in Mario Bros, they were identical. Since Super Mario Bros 2, they've been considered non-identical, and they haven't used the same recoloured sprite since Super Mario All Star.
Billy and Jimmy Lee: I'm not sure wether they're actually identical twins or not. They use the same sprite, but they have different hair color.
Bub and Bob: Dinosaurs-dragon things spitting bubbles around are so beautiful. I think they were supposed to be identical.
Nick and Tom: Snowmen from the obscure game Snow Bros. Basically a clone of Bubble Bobble where you trap the monsters into snow balls and roll them into walls.
Find more, guys. They can be either playable characters or villains, as long as they're twins. I won't count evil shadow clones, like Dark Link. Only actual twin siblings.
Lan and Hub
Porom and Palom
Johny Dash and his nemisis
Lucas and Claus
In the version of Super Mario World I played, they changed luigi's sprite to look different. You only got this version bundled with Super Nintendos. Came with updated versions of Super Mario Bros 1, 2, 3, and lost levels. Kick. ass.
Also, battletoads

There was other twins in Megaman Battle Networks. In the first game, the teacher, Ms Mari, had a twin sister Ms Yuri. She didn't play a major role and never returned in further games, but in the cartoon, she was there as a major villain. Real nasty.
The old grandpa who was Topman's operator in the fourth game had a twin brother, too.

I can name twins from Final Fantasy 6, namely Edgar and Sabin. They're identical twins, but they lived apart from one another for 10 years, so they look nothing alike anymore. Still, that counts.
Liza and Tate from Pokemon R/S/E

Also Gemini Spark from Starforce are 2 of the same sprites, not really a twin though.
Basch from FFXII als had a twin brother that looked identical enough to get him accused of murder.
Not really a twin but Nero looks identical to Dante in DMC4.
Do evil versions of the main character count ? its similiar to evil twin and I can name quite a few actually.
Evil Earthworm Jim, Anti-sora (Kingdom Hearts), Shuyin (FFX-2), Wario, Waluigi, Bizarro, Dark Samus, Dark Link, Meta Knight, The Tick.

Not really an evil version, but a they have a fight about who the coolest Tick based character is.

So... no!
I can't verify if they're twins or just regular brothers, but in FF2, Scott and Gordon. Back on the Famicom version, Scott's sprite was just a regular soldier (he dies right at the beginning), but in the remakes, he's a palette swap of Gordon.
Final Fantasy Chronicles: Rings of Fate. Yuri and Chelinka are unidentical twins born on the same day. It's funny how they always insist that "I came out first, so I'm older." Coming out of the mom is really the only life experience they'll get through with a slight delay. Other than that, they mature at the exact same pace, so that "I'm older by a few minutes" thing is bullshit, actually. (Besides, Chelinka falls in a coma for three years, so Yuri catches up on those "few minutes".)
In the Kirby's Dream Land instruction booklet, Lololo and Lalala are referred to as "the infamous twins". Which is a bit strange because they're based on Lolo and Lala from NES fame, who were your typical hero/princess couple. Right now I go with the theory that Lololo and Lalala are not Lolo and Lala, and they're twins.
P.S. I LOVE your avatar, Asshat. Haddock FTW!

Not really. Every member of the species looks the same, so you couldn't tell if they were related.

It should be worth mentioning that Luigi's voices in SSB64 and SSBM were just high pitched Mario recordings, which is funny because they both have the same voice actor. I'm probably the only person who was hoping for Luigi to have his own voice track in SSBB.
The sisters from Vampire: Bloodlines are worth a mention.
Even if Jeanette was only depicted as sisters, and in truth one and the same person.

I am utterly amazed that nobody has said Ryu and Ken. They're not just palette swaps, but pretty close. In Street Fighter II, the only thing different between their in-game sprites was the head.

That doesn't make them twins proper. By that logic, they're triplets because Dan looks a lot like them, too. :p

Mario and Luigi are only brothers, not twins. That, and Ken and Ryu were almost the same sprite in SFII. Dan at least was re-drawn. Except maybe in Alpha.

Lazy art department ≠ Twins. Characters that are actually connected in some way are what he meant. Ryu and Ken aren't conected like that. They're from opposite sides of the world, for crissakes.
