I get pissed when religious people get signs and shit like this put up, and I'm pretty sure most other Atheists do as well. So how the fuck is it any better for us to do it? I now have next to no respect for Richard Dawkins.

I didn't mean to group all atheist together. I just made the assumption that the brainwashing done by some religions is something that tweaks off 95% of people who don't believe in any of it. I see this as an Atheist using Religion's tricks, and it's not only rude (when either side does it), but it's hypocritical as hell when a group of Atheists do it.

The line "There probably isn't a God, so stop worrying and enjoy life." seems a bit oxymoronic, in that it's saying there might or might not be a God, but go against him anyway.
It would have made more sense if the first part said "There is no God," or the second part said "so you might want to think about it."

There isn't really any harm, persay, but it's unnecessary. Why do people need to know your beliefs? (not directed at you, rhetorical based on the situation) Why can't people who believe or don't believe in things keep it to themselves, except in debate areas or open discussion of course. Are films, billboards and signs really necessary? Do people find that much of a need to spread their personal matters around to as many people as possible?

That may be so, but they're the British Humanist Society, not the Church of Atheism. As far as I know, there is no Church of Atheism, nor should there be. I think its funny. Sure, its hypocritical if you also bitch about the other side doing the same thing, but if you get past this its a lulzy way of heating up the deeply religious folk (something which is invariably humorous) and causing a debate which sometimes makes a few people think.

Most of them can think for themselves, and those who do will either ignore the posters or think they're assholes and move on. Its the zealots who'll go apeshit over this sort of thing and make me laugh.
What's frustrating is that both sides like to believe that their argument is definite fact but can't prove it, so it basically turns into who can shout their idea the loudest.
What I don't understand is how an Atheist group could have a "church". Maybe I'm just hazy on the exact definition on church, but isn't that a place of god, not atheism?

Church in the figurative sense of a group of people with a certain religion view.
Some people would call Synagogues "Jewish Churches" and Mosques "Muslim Churches". Its really just semantics, though the word curch is very mainstreamed (unlike Synagogues and Mosques)
They don't call themselves a church, I call them a church. Clearly I know more about their motivations and beliefs than they do.

It's because the type of people who assemble to talk about how they're totally not an organized religion are indeed the same kind of factionalistic people organized religion attracts. This also provides a psychological replacement for the tribal factor of organized religion, and it's friends fanaticism and group dependence. They aren't religious, but they maintain all the worst effects of religious organization. Church isn't really just a place where someone worships something. After all, I do that in my bedroom. I don't need a church to be religious. The church is the place people go for the religious socialization. It's the organizing of the religious, the meeting of people who have formed a tribe, the congregation, on the basis of their beliefs. Atheists are still doing this for the same reasons, they just don't have any stories to explain their beliefs. What they're taking away is not religion, it's philosophy and vivid explanation.
