a trimmed down worse looking version of the 360 game, with better controls depending on how you feel about the wiimote

I do to, but i think COD4 was just to damm awesome. Then again Infinity Ward> Treyarch.
Quote from: DWARFINATORclock;1454595haha wii
Hey thats the only way can go to the CC or anything interweb. In fact ive been out of the loop for 6 FUCKING MONTHS!!!
It's actually quite good on the wii. The only differences are the graphics, and a trimmed down multiplayer. You get less multiplayer modes with less people, but what you do get is probably the best multiplayer seen on the wii so far, save Brawl, Mario kart, and Medal of Honor: Heroes 2.
haha i found this related article and it's great:
http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2008/11/11/infinity-ward-stop-interviewing-treyarch/1
QuoteIn a furious internet rant on his work blog Infinity Ward community manager Rob Bowling has called for sites to stop interviewing Treyarchs Noah Heller, who he feels is drawing nonsense comparisons between Call of Duty 5 and Call of Duty 4.
While COD 5 is being developed by Treyarch, COD4 was created by Infinity Ward and the two entirely separate teams have traditionally divided the franchise - with Infinity Ward creating the superior titles in the eyes of many fans and critics.
What's irked Infinity Ward lately though is that Treyarch has been comparing the its own World at War with Infinity Wards Call of Duty 4, and making some apparently bogus claims in the process. Speaking on his work blog, community manager Robert Bowling expressed his frustration with World at War senior producer Noah Heller directly.
"You didn’t work on previous Call of Dutys, so don’t talk as if you’re down with how / why things were designed the way they were. Second, you’re completely f*****g wrong." posted Rob.
"Can you guys please stop interviewing this guy, talk to someone who actually works on the Dev Team at Treyarch and knows what the f**k they’re talking about?" pleaded Rob after Noah made some bogus claims about weapon design in Call of Duty 4. "Not Senior Super Douche Noah Heller from Activision - who apparently has never played the game and doesn’t even work at the developer."
Senior Super Douche hahaha
further reason why InfinityWard>Treyarch
lol
yeah.... Infinity ward should just be the sole developer of the franchise. Nothing treyarch has done with CoD has been particularly interesting or innovative.
I liked most of the single player campaign. A tank mission and a bomber mission! The singer player was pretty good. Haven't gotten much into multiplayer.
The flamethrower was something of an improvement over its UO counterpart. Unlimited ammo in exhange for a heat gauge is fine by me.
The sight of limbs flying off from machinegun rounds never gets old, nor does frying banzai charges.
However, the weapons sounds are a little weak (i thought that weird clicking was my sound card. It turned out to be the Gewehr 43 rifle going off.)
Also, flamethrowers might be cool, but a tank-mounted flamethrower is next to useless if all the infantry have rockets and can reduce your tank to scrap metal before you can get close.
And the PBY mission was stilted. It forced you into turrets, no choice like in the UO bomber mission. It was interesting when you heard the *click* of your empty guns
Still it seemed a bit over-dramatic at some parts, and things that could have been so badass, like the sniper duel, were short and unfleshed out.
I thought they did a decent job. Not phenomenal, just decent. All the missions crammed too much in very little time, not giving you enough to enjoy the ambiance.
Also no British. Booo!! Major loss of points there!
I played the splitscreen multiplayer and had some fun with whatever the shotgun/martyrdom class is.

THIS IS YOUR FAULT PIRAAT
oh this was made by a different developer from CoD 4?
Looks identical to CoD 4 only in WW2.
don't think i'm going to bother with this one.
Nazi Zombies is pretty neat

haha where did you read that? master chief lovers magazine. Halo 3 is shit and it's multiplayer is horrid. CoD 4 on the other hand has an amazing single player and by far the best FPS Multiplayer till this day.
Italian block it's not cool to like halo here because this is a no opinion zone!!

i don't mind people that like halo. However stating that it's an superior fps to Cod4 is just insane.

Quote from: Joey 684684;1456587Have you ever played halo 3?
I played 1,2 and 3. along with all the Cod games. Also played all Valve created fps games and the games of franchises like: Moh , Fear, Unreal, Quake, Duke Nukem, Rainbow Six, Battlefield, Wolvenstein, Doom, Far Cry, Crysis etc Ive played CS 1.6 and CS Source online for years. Allong with the UT games, Halo 3 and Cod 4. So i like to think that i know a bit about shooters and i can honestly say Cod4 offers the best fps experience to this day.

But... Have you played infection on custom maps with 16 players...? HAVE YOU?!?

Quote from: CactusLemon;1456609Have you played a 32 player deathmatch in UT3?
UT3 is pretty awesome.
In my opinion though, Valve's Source games and Far Cry 2 are the best shooters to date. I like Day of Defeat: Source's multiplayer better than COD4's multiplayer, especially with how much the game has changed over the years.
COD4 is great and all, but its multiplayer seems to copy DoD:S with better graphics and less strategy and teamwork.
Meh from what I have seen I will wait till it hits the bargin bin, I am not a fan of WWI or WWII games they always seem ....crap, I want a big gun with loads of bullets.
Also looks like Infinity Ward are pissed at Treyarch.

i played this at a friend and i actually like it alot.
Im more of a ww2 fan myself, so that kinda counts. but im still not sure why people think this is a worse game. It's a different game by a different developer and should be judged like a different game. In it's own right it dous copy a lot of feautures from previous version of call of duty but those features are cool so i see no problem there.

Im not judging this game on it's atmosphere or setting (although i have to admit i liked cod4 better in that department aswell) it's just something in the gameplay that's lacking.. i can't really explain it.
ok then send me the game for $10.0
Bumping month old threads is awesome.

posting to say so is also cool
i prefer WW2 weapons to modern weapons. too many automatics in modern, not enough variety.
so cod5, for me, is better than cod4. but then again i think halo 3 is still better than both of them (albeit not by much), so my opinion doesn't count anyway.

I prefer COD4, but 5 was really good. I thought it was one of the best WW2 game since the first COD.

We get it, Sage. You like Halo. Don't feel the need to mention it so much, especially when it really has no bearing on the thread.
I found that COD 5 was so similar to COD 4 in gmaeplay, that it was basically playing the same game.

you also think dance dance moves and vague asian yu-gi-oh type game are great games.
Does COD World at war count as COD5 or is infinity working on 5?

I respectfully disagree. Played the exbawx 360 version and loved it, more than four. I guess I'm just more into WWII tech and weapons than modern day.
Quote from: Sigma;1454588Anybody know how good it is for the Wii
It's okay, bought it for my parents and I've played it a little on their Wii. The controls are very awkward at first, expect to have to spend a few hours getting used to the shooter thing. If you're not a graphics fag and don't have a 360 or a good PC, go ahead and grab it.

oh wait you are right according to wikepedia. I though it read the ww2 part somewhere although i cannot find it anymore!
