So as of my last format I decided to really organize the crap out of all my stuff, since I was gonna be starting completely fresh on three hard drives, pictured here:

I figured the best way to organize would be this way,
MEDIA (D:)...
(https://clockcrew.net/talk/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv437%2Fnyiddle%2Fpicture2.png&hash=061dab48809e4961453231906cedeaf8e463babe)
ROOT (C:)...

STORAGE (S:)...

and yeah, that about sums it up.
Media is everything music, tv shows, dvd burns, anything that engages your face. Root is Windows along with all my programs and stuff like that. and Storage is just the hard drive that i will never reformat. it has drives and backups for programs and all sortsa stuff that i can use in the case of an emergency. it also has various other things.
am i the only one that has a system like this?
I put everything in one folder on the desktop.
C:\- System folder. Old games and files are here, but besides that, i don't touch it.
E:\- This is where i keep all my games and files and things i currently use.
I:\-This is for all the crap that won't fit on E:
currently:
C (internal 75gb): programs and pictures and basics.
E(external 300gb)(gets random CRC errors that disappear when restarted): emulators, 360 backups, guitar hero backups for hacking, halo backups for hacking, torrents, music, video, just the shit that would eat up my C drive otherwise
after I get my new pc:
C(internal 500gb): everything
having billions of hard drives can be a hassle.
I've only got 120 gigs so fuck you people.
I only have 4 gigs of porn too.

Porn on desktop, everything else neatly arranged through the start menu.
anything older than a month organized in my documents folder
everything else on desktop
Every month I create a folder called desktop on my desktop and put all my shit into it. Looks like it's about time to do it again.

This too, except then I take that folder and put it into one called "bunch of stuff"
My shit is horrible. It's vaguely organized into pictures/docs/flash/sound (vaguely) but then once you get below the main directory it's a clusterfuck of me trying to make once current projects readily available by putting 0s at the front of the file name. I also have a lot of directories named things like as;gihasdgashgashg so yeah it sucks to navigate.
I don't
Every map gets it's own submaps which have submaps with submaps
and yet I have a harder time locating my stuff than I used to.
Why do people still store their porn when there's infinite streaming porn available.
I remember this one guy just put it all on his desktop. With all the icons as a large ball.
He matched it to his wallpaper which was fittingly katamari damacy.
I have some decent organization with my PC. I have decent file names along with folders. Yet stuff bounds to end up outside of their intended folders and once a while I put stuff where it's meant to go.

Because it's not always easy to find the same thing twice. Also photoshop.
My brother's more the one who's into tech and stuff. He got a PC, shoved two terabyte hard drives in it and called it a 'mediaserver'. Now when ever we want to see a movie or TV show, he just downloads them onto the PC and streams them through the xbox 360 onto our TV.
All other files I either keep on my desktop or in a folder labeled 'media', which also resides on my desktop.
I have a folder for new things on my desktop. Nothing is moved to my storage area until it has been backed up on a DVD-RW, which happens weekly. When the DVD-RW is full, I burn a copy of it to a DVD-R. That way, backing up is a part of the routine.
The storage area where I keep my things is divided into...
pictures
audio
"stuff"
education
work
video
And then sub-divided by subject and file type. It's about 90 or so GB now. I do a full back up on an external disk every once in a while. I store it away from my apartment. I have another one I keep at home, though.
The local disk also contains various things like game saves, themes, settings, and etc. which I need to actively remember to back up also. Nothing major, really.

This is a pro, I never watch the same porn twice.
Quote from: AlbinoClock;1471619Also photoshop.
I find it uncomfortable to masturbate to pictures of women that may as well have been hairy, fat and ugly. Fuck photoshop.
Bajillions of folders, only shortcuts on desktop.
Everything is everywhere, I have thousands of folders, all having random shit in them.
Files, files, everywhere!
I keep all music in the my music file. I have a folder in documents called emulators and one called torrents, both of which have shortcuts on the desktop. anything i make myself is saved in a folder on the desktop called Flash, and anything else is saved in my documents which i periodically clean out. makes for a pretty organised system actually
on my other small drive i have ubuntu
I do minimal organizing, but I can somehow find whatever file I need for the moment quickly.
