Its curious how after now I own it, I can look back Ocarina of Time and I find it really lacking of a lot of substance Majora's Mask has, like character development because as i start OoT you are like "HEY LINK GUESS WHAT YOU ARE THE HERO WOO GREAT NOW GET TO WORK" instead of "Look wood head! I hate to collaborate with you now but I need to find my brother and know what's going on"

I loved the whole electronica genre of the game.  The orchestral dingen was also pretty good, but wasn't quite as fun to listen to.  Later, on, the series went with less electronica and more orchestra-driven pieces, though there were still some nuggety good ones, like the song played when the player is working the jamming array in Maktar Nebula or at Slim Cognito's shack.

Ratchet: Deadlocked went for a more "heavy metal super extreme football" sounding theme going on with their songs.  Then again, that is Dreadzone's main theme motiff and all.  However, they had a couple cool songs, my favorite being the one played when trying to destroy the generators (although slightly later in the song the heavy metal sound makes a brief appearance.

I don't really remember any memorable songs from Up Your Arsenal or Tools of Destruction.  Doesn't mean the music was bad, I'm just not all that big on orchestra music, you know?
Either way, the Ratchet and Clank series has had some good music in the games.
Anyway, enough of my babbling what are some of your favorite video game soundtracks.

(By the way, I'm pretty sure the links are legal since Insomniac has never released soundtrack CDs or expressed any desire to ever release any)

And, to add to that, My Patch by Jim Noir was a song I found before it was put in Little Big Planet, and it, over time, has become one of my favorite songs of all time.
So, since it's in Little Big Planet, that can go on the list.

Yeah, VIII was my first DQ game, but it's one of my favorite games of all time now. I didn't even mind the random encounters. I think I ended up at around the 116 hour mark by the time I was done with it. I can't wait for IX, although I do wish it were on an actual console. Maybe that whole upgraded Wii version rumor will come to be true?

The huge, empty overworld/dungeons were the biggest issue that game had.
I thought the combat system was pretty innovative and fun, I liked that. You just had to fight way to much battles in those boring, never ending environments.

Sonic Generations is Sega giving the fans exactly what they want: classic sonic gameplay and the daytime levels of Sonic Unleashed. As a result it was pretty damn fun to play. I quite enjoyed myself. I'm hoping they make some DLC, like big HD versions of the 3DS exclusive levels. So far the only DLC was that dumb pinball thing and that was day one preorder bullshit.

Fun amd charming obscure little 3d platformer where you play dressup and talk to monsters only kids can see. The shop theme for this game is absurdly catchy.


Pokemon TCG: File Select theme
This game had really memorable music. It's the only pokemon spinoff game besides pokemon snap I ever got really invested in, I loved that weird dude in the black bodysuit who randomly challenged you with his shitty deck.


Darkstalkers - Theme of Phobos
I suck at fighting games but man the music is good. Darkstalkers' music in particular is pretty great.

Imakuni? was his name. He was a japan only "HUMAN" pokemon that basically would just randomly show up at promotions over there. I'm pretty sure he was paid but I remember hearing a rumor that it was just some crazy dude who was so obsessed with pokemon that he tried to be one himself or something. Apparently he drew a few cards for the Pokemon TCG and even contributed some music for the anime.



Strangely enough, back when Pokemon was at its height in popularity around 1999-2001 I came across an Imakuni Doduo card with a strange white star. Apparently it was exceedingly rare back then. I honestly had no idea and tried to trade it several times to no avail. My friends kept claiming it was counterfeit. I Still have it to this day.

Haha you actually had one of those? I remember reading about it in magazines back then. His retreat cost is actually you flicking the card with a snapping wrist motion. You could get a physical copy of his title card too, all it did was make your own pokemon confused it was terrible and hilarious. I dont think either of them were legal. There was one other card I remember with a white star too, it had team rocket on it and it was super rare, I forget the name.

I still think ODST had the best soundtrack of the series. One of the best ever.

ive got a couple of friends who were really into life is strange, but I have never been particularly interested in the telltale games style of adventure games. Would i be missing out on something if i were to just watch a play-through on youtube?

I had this game's soundtrack on my mind lately and it made me want to reinstall it and play it again.

This track in particular is actually my new favorite, as I was always into Hyperblast the best for years. Also this and Unreal II got me into a bit of a scifi kick of inspiration lately.
