At this time if anybody has anything to say regarding the forums' prospective continued existence, now's the time, and here's the place.
tbqh the outlook is not good, especially for Health & Good Living, which is kind of a shame.
The playoffs were starting, I was thinking of maybe setting up a betting pool for that. Hockey is still going on, so I was thinking of trying to get something going for that too. It depends on the season, really. We started the forum right around the baseball playoffs, which allowed for a lot more discussion.

Sports shouldnt go away. Some people here go outside and participate in physical activity and they should be represented. Oh and that Football soccer thread was gonna be closed but I figured activity was activity so I decided to spare it. Oh and an icon would've been nice to get peoples attention and to let me know when theres new posts. aight

I dunno, I just thought it was kind of funny that a joke forum that stupid has managed to stick around for two years, just slipping under the radar during any maintenance sessions.
And I think it would be even funnier in 2012 when the forums have been completely restructured and the site barely resembles its current self but for some reason the stupid fucking medical forum is still around. If anything, I've my eye on the Gentlemen's Club.
A forum for irl problems seems like it would mostly be clutter, though, too. The staff is in general agreement that the forums should be somewhat stripped down and streamlined, we're just not sure how we're going to go about doing that, as everybody has their disagreements. I'm sure adding a new forum isn't on anybody's to-do list, in any event.

I would say that was more of a combo of Marlin and Boston. And when you can't ban repeat offenders what can you do other than just remove single posts? That won't prevent future offenses.

Whenever I talk to any of the mods I speak to they say they will not ban anyone because it will just be undone after a bunch of Grey bitching. And then the new ban policy will prevent them from taking any action at all eithout a vote.

Keep the sports forum, I don't go there personally but I think sports enthusiasts are entitled to a forum discussing it instead of standalone threads in general. The standalone threads would receive more criticism/ speculation from people that have no interest in sports since they don't have to actively seek out the sports forum and post there.
Also the medical advice forum has its occasional laughs, like those threads Twist made a while ago, def. worth the read.

it needs to stay, it's important. i've sat through months and years of boards with and without a sports forum, and in the latter incarnations, there's just incessant trolling and attempted humor that crashes and burns the second someone hits submit in a sports thread.
sports forum just needs structure. triangle and i can provide this; we both frequent and post in SAS on something awful and that's by far the best sports forum on the internet. keep it around and pm me or something about establishing some rules and some structure for the forum and everything will be better.
marlin and patriot are solid mods imo for what it's worth.

All right, I agree that when its yours/ Dwarf's IRC, you decide the rules and people that don't post content you find "good" like in Cat's and Maltese's case get banned. If what you just told me in the IRC about Floppy is true then I understand why you banned him and probably would have done the same thing in your case.
What I am saying is that Cat and Maltese are different from you and have different opinions and that that is the specific reason you're banning them. In Maltese's case it's because he was talking about philosophy and though I didn't see it firsthand I'm guessing Cat got banned for anime stuff.

When it was created, Slurpee gave me modship of both. I think it was because they were both being presented in the same thread where I was campaigning for the Sports Forum. Caddy was the one who wanted it, and so caddy was bestowed the honor after the ban he had at the time.
