Title: guys help me for a sec [AP]
Post by: Tate Clock on January 11, 2009, 08:44:31 PM
Give it a few seconds to load (~900k)

[flash]http://www.hotlinkfiles.com/files/2205532_cgfpd/noir_082717.swf width=550 height=400[/flash]

I need some help testing this out. I had a project I was working on but got too ambitious and found that it runs like ass on anything other than my macbook pro (which it was developed on) in the standalone .swf player or in Flash.

Watch the animation above for a few seconds, and reply with as much of the following as possible;

-1) Score from 1-10, 1 being the worst, of overall how in-sync the animation is to the music (and the various instruments together as well). The animation/music complexity changes so let it play for a few minutes; any extra detail is welcome as well.
0) Score from 1-10, 1 being the worst, of overall how in-sync the animation is to the music WITH LOW QUALITY

1) Amount of RAM/speed
2) Processor type/speed
3) Video card/video RAM
4) Browser you're using/version and OS/version

Optional; if you have the time and the standalone .swf player (or if you have Flash installed), download the SWF here and try it outside of the browser also.
Download .SWF (http://www.hotlinkfiles.com/files/2205532_cgfpd/noir_082717.swf)

Thanks if you've taken the time to help me out. If not, die plz? kthx.

My answers are as follows;

-1) 5
0) 7
1) 2GB DDR2
2) Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz
3) GeForce 8600M GT (256MB)
4) Safari 3.2.1, OS X 10.5.6

and on my PC;
-1) 4
0) 6
1) 1.5GB DDR
2) Dual AMD Athlon MP 1800+ processors at 1.5GHz
3) GeForce 6800 GT (256MB)
4) IE 7, Windows XP SP3

Strangely, in the standalone player or Flash on my mac I get more like 9 for HQ mode and 10 for LQ... I had no idea it was so bad until I just tested it on my PC.

In the Standalone player, I give a 4 for high-quality, a 7 for low. In the browser, high 6, low 8.

iMac
1GB DDR2 SDRAM
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz
ATI Radeon HD2600 256MB
Safari 3.1.2, Mac OS X 10.5.6
