Come on, stop being stupid. If you are in the ClockCrew, you are a nerd in some angle, just take it out.
I like to make papercraft, play and collect videogames, have very few mangas, some comics, I like to draw, post on the internet, sit in the front row of the class, listen to videogame music, also used to play YuGiOh years ago.
Just say it dammit.
Too many things to list.
i heard being in choir was pretty COOL
I think I forgot to say I am getting pretty fat now. Gotta work up!
being fat pretty much does it
i'm also a complete listing freak, i used to collect cards, i hang out on the comp all day, etc etc
I like to occasionally buy video games for my Xbox 360 and devote two days to completing it within those two days. I manage it nearly every time. The only games I have failed to complete within two days are Oblivion, GTA 4 and Saints Row 2.
I also usually watch a movie I haven't seen previously every night, and am a massive movie geek. But due to indie shitheads, thats considered something of a "cool" thing nowadays, which I strongly disagree with. One random scene kid watches A Clockwork Orange one day and they are suddenly a "movie buff". Fuck them.
I have a mudkip plush doll sitting right next to my screen, i get servers for free because i help code for some site, i play guild wars, use to collect ygo cards, i listen to music from video games, I post on the clock crew, and i spend more than 10 hours a day on the computer
I played Brain Age once and I go on youtube a lot, sometimes twice a week, and yesterday I got a mario shirt. god I'm so nerd >.<
I play d&d.
I play video games, although i don't think video games are "nerdy" anymore in this day and age.. apart from fantasy role playing games obviously. And i read some Marvell comics (digitally), which is pretty nerdy i suppose.
Quote from: FloundermanClock;1505301I played Brain Age once
I have been reconsidering in getting on a daily spree again. Its just becomes so addictive.
Quote from: FloundermanClock;1505301I go on youtube a lot
I go on YouTube more than anybody else in the Clock Crew.
I don't think doing nerdy things makes you a nerd though, for instance i know guys who are complete nerds and yet they know shit about comics, video games and movies. They are just socially underdeveloped, dress like shit and haven't seen the inside of a bar their entire life. In which case you can watch all sports, cars and other lame things we're suppose to like and you'll still be a nerd. While i also know guys who are sociable, go out clubbing and know how to dress.. and also know how to make headshots in CS:source or COD4.
I have a "Batman comics" bookshelf.
That's probably the nerdiest thing.
Cs is the opposite of neard..
In Romania, if you don't know how to play CS, you are an outcast...
Quote from: Mat;1505306I go on YouTube more than anybody else in the Clock Crew.
I once watched
five videos in one day and commented on one of them.
I play video games, make minor machinima, and have a Warhammer 40k army
Vidgey games, mostly. Around two weeks ago I started watching a few anime on youtube like Azumanga Daioh or Toradora. Lately I've put it upon myself to read Yotsuba&!. It's like an anti-depressant.
Also I am in a choir and I don't drink, which apparently is a stipulation to pirate.
Quote from: Franklin G. Hamilton;1505318hybrids
I also think it has to do with education level, all my friends are pretty sociable but i've noticed that the higher educated ones share my interest in movies, gadgets and games, while the lesser or uneducated ones enjoy sports, cars and well.. more sports really.. and when i say sports i mean football. Of course there are always exceptions.

Quote from: Marlix Wright;1505330And by football you mean soccer?
soccer is a made up word! but yes i mean the European meaning of football.
I wonder why they didn't call it American Rugby instead of American Football.
I cook a lot, make artwork, I read a lot, and I enjoy a monthly drinking contest between friends that involves debating and drinking 40's. I am also a nazi about consuming things with high fructose corn syrup, and I don't drink caffinated beverages.

It's because American nerdism is about liking things besides the terrible shit that gets popular here. Japanese nerdism is about liking the terrible things that are so popular in Japan that they get mentioned in America.
I think there's probably lots of good things from Japan worthy of nerding over, but it's not popular enough to leave the country.

not sure if it counts as nerdy but i like to watch the original star trek.
Video Games, Comic Books, Godzilla movies, Blaxploitation movies, Original Star Trek, Unnecessary knowledge about guitars (the proper term is "tone-chasing" although not all too accurate, as I am not chasing a certain tone like Eddie Van Halen, I'm looking to capture tones, I guess I'd be called a "Tone-Collector"), and listening to, and training to become, shred guitarist(s)
shredding is lame and nerdy, but it's some of the truest examples of skill, it takes over 8 hours a day of practice to become Eddie Van Halen.

Very much so, I am adding you on AIM so we may discuss this further.
Also downloading and listening a lot of ost's... from games and anime
Quote from: Bob, Agent of HYDRA;1506184Anyone into Marvel at all? i got into to it couple months ago, been reading Secret Wars, Civil War, World War Hulk and Secret Invasion, currently following Dark Reign and ive read every Deadpool comic ever.
The only comic series I've ever really cared about/ followed was from Marvel. MAX did a really good job with it in my opinion, before the Punisher was just kind of a throw-in that nobody really cared about.

Chaotic Good > Lawful Good.
Quote from: Slurpee;1311440The Sith haven't existed in mass quantities since before Darth Bane, who made a change after realizing that the more Sith there were, the more self-destructive they became. "Two there should be; no more, no less. One to embody power, the other to crave it." Thus, every Sith since has been either master or apprentice; Darth Sidious had Darth Maul, until he died, where he picked up Darth Tyrranus (Count Dooku), who was killed, and in turn replaced by Darth Vader, who sought to overthrow Sidious and take his place, instilling his son, Luke Skywalker, as his apprentice.

That douchebag Rob Liefeld created Deadpool in 1991.
He sucked until he got an ongoing series in 1997, at which point he became a tolerable rip-off of Ambush Bug.
Quote from: Slurpee;1470551Hahaha. That's actually pretty on the money- the reason the comics were created was to manufacture crossovers between characters, and introduce readers of one series to other, different ones.
With Batman's BatB, Batman is obviously a very popular, recognizable characters, and the series was used to showcase the dynamics between him and the DC universe at large, as well as to expose readers to characters they might not really care about, but aren't necessarily turned off to.
Quote from: Slurpee;1421957The Superman radio plays developed most of what Superman, as an icon, consists of.
Everything from "faster than a speeding to bullet," to flying, to kryptonite, to Jimmy Olsen and Perry White came from the radio plays, and were incorporated into the comics and everything else later.
Quote from: Slurpee;1039023Damned fucking goddamned right he does.
Too bad Rogue War was the last good Flash arc.
I can't believe I sat through Fastest Man Alive just to watch Bart bite it.
Booster Gold, Blue Beetle, and Hitman/JLA would like a word with you.
Countdown is embarassing, though. It's one thing to not live up to 52, but Countdown is downright abysmal, and it's bringing down every title it touches.
... Aka Mark Millar shoves as much unlikely shit into an Elseworlds as humanly possible.
I don't know why so many people who otherwise hate Superman get the vapors over that book. Aside from Lex Luthor's 40 megaton ownage in letter form, it wasn't much of a narrative. Kingdom Come was way better.
For that matter, I don't understand the hate for Supes. He's awesome. I think alot of people don't really give Superman a chance.
Up, Up, and Away, For the Man Who Has Everything, Hitman #34, Mark Waid's run on JLA, Infinite Crisis, World Without a Superman, All-Star Superman- he's really a wonderful character.
I haven't really been keeping up with Marvel since Civil War: The Confession. But that was a good fucking read.
I like GLI, and Young Avengers was tits before Alan Heinberg fucked off to write 3 issues of Wonder Woman over the course of a year.
Quote from: Slurpee;1438632Actually, Mephisto used his devil magic to divorce Peter and Mary Jane, and also unrevealed Spider-Man's identity, because Joe Quesada is a big drooling baby with nothing better to do.
Quote from: Slurpee;14209005) operant conditioning tells us that type II punishment (the removal of a positive reinforcement stimulus) produces a temporary, inadequate ceasing of a negative behavior (in this case refusing to make flash) and is likely to cause other, less predictable results. this is freshman psychology. go read a book..
Quote from: Slurpee;1400202Got all 52 issues of 52, the entire Young Justice run, the entire Impulse run, the entire Hitman run, the entire Kyle and Yost run on New X-Men, the entire Grant Morrison run on New X-men, Red Son, Kingdom Come, the first 6 volumes of Y The Last Man, the entire Transmetropolitan run, most of Geoff Johns' Flash, all of Fastest Man Alive (god help me,) we3, Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, Squee, I Feel Sick, Fillerbunny, Everything Can Be Beaten, Jellyfist, a couple issues of Lenore, an issue of Bear, an issue of The Ghoulie Boys, a couple issues of The Chronicles of Wormwood, various issues of Scud, Tales From the Bully Pulpit, Hellboy Weird Tales, Catwoman: Selina's Big Score, Hush, JLA: Tower of Babel, Identity Crisis, Infinite Crisis and all all the tie-ins except Rann/Thanagar, everything Young Avengers that has ever been printed, the first four volumes of Flight, first four volumes of Scott Pilgrim, The Gunslinger Born hardcover, Final Crisis 1-3, plus Rogues Revenge 1 and 2, Legion of Three Worlds 1, Superman Beyond 1, and DC Universe 0.

Oh, and 3 volumes of Bone.

I think that's it.
Oh, and Zero Hour. Don't buy Zero Hour.
Quote from: Slurpee;1343778StrawberryLock is TJ32 from the Newgrounds chat. From what I understand he completely divorced himself from the Lock Legion in its current state and wants nothing to do with it. Lock Legion was a Blam Club thing more than a Newgrounds thing. It was treated in a mock serious manner on the Clock Crew website. (I think Onion made a front page post about it.)
Banana was one of I think 4 mods for the video game forum on the old clockcrew.cc, and after bragging to Zeffy over AIM about getting modded even though she said he wouldn't, he was demodded and he got pissed and left. He went to the Lock Legion.
edit: Actually, I think Banana maintains that he wasn't "bragging," and his demodding was complete bullshit, and that he never really left the Clock Crew for the Lock Legion.
Lock Legion wasn't the first Clock Crew rival gang. I'm pretty sure that honor belongs to Hook's Crew.
StrawberryLock made N.
Well, actually, OrangeClock made N. StrawberryLock made "N!!!!!"
This is where my memory gets fuzzy, because it's where the lock legion starts getting dumb and I stop caring.
After Banana jumped ship, that's when guys like Burrito and Nullzilla started showing up. Trash jumped ship, NuclearBombClock became mp3lock.
It kind of floundered, until the incident with Pinty and frogbag and clockcrew.cc going down in august 2003, because somebody linked to the Lock Legion website as an alternative to the, uh... deceased Clock Crew. Around that time, the original members of the Lock Legion started leaving in droves, saying Banana was messing up a good joke, and Banana saying he took a joke group and turned it into a powerhouse flash group to match the Clock Crew.
There was some drama and power shifts, but I think that's the gist of it.
Quote from: Slurpee;1167610Quotejoeneato says: "That was bad. Bad as in not good."
Not very good at all, I'm afraid, no.
For example there were no sound effects. I mean, there were, but only sometimes. I understand that in a collaboration there's going to be some natural incongruity, but whoever organized this should have instituted some standards and practices to qualify for entry.
With a series as linear as Madness, where every entry has extremely similar themes of over-the-top violence, and since they're all presented in roughly the same manner, a collaboration of people who've taken the time to learn and understand Flash should be more capable of stringing a series of individually made clips together, if not necessarily with an overarching plot, than at least with some manner of timing and theme. Instead, the clips are thrown in haphazardly, building to a notably short, unimpressive closing. As a matter of fact, many clips fail to even maintain a sense of theme in and of themselves- bouncing wildly from senseless violence, to slapstick humor, and back, with abandon, and one is left to wonder why such entries were included in such radical abundance.
Though the presentation of the collaboration, including the thoughtful inclusion of entertainment in the preloader, and the stylistic menu design, show touches of class, the heart and soul of the flash is a bland, ill-conceived cobbling together of below-mediocre flashes whose relation to each other is only their ties to a series which the majority of the creators have failed, colossally, to demonstrate thematic adherence or understanding to.

Quote from: Slurpee;839597Clock Crew was one of the first amatuer flash groups. Sure, a seperate BBS seems manifest now, but even today the majority of Newgrounds clans operate out of the Newgrounds BBS. In it's early days, the Lock Legion did imitate the scale of the Clock Crew, including the seperate, large-scale website, with it's own bbs.
It was pretty much tooled up to be a Clock Crew replacement group, especially after ClockCrew.cc went down and everyone was saying the Clock Crew was dead.
I remember this because Banana tried to recruit me over AIM.

Of course I don't talk about any of this in real life or associate with anyone else who does, and that's half the battle if you ask me.

Why would a cannon have a flintlock trigger?
I guess. I would think it's theoretically possible since the flintlock works on a smaller scale, but it just looked funny to me. Really, that flint is more of a hammer, which wouldn't strike the way flintlocks do.
Nerdiest thing I do? Have sex with my girlfriend.
...Nope, waaait! AHAHAHA get it? Um... I haven't played Warhammer much in the last few years, but back in high school I did go to GamesDay instead of my prom. Haha, that was great...
I play final fantasy and kingdom hearts.

When exactly did video games become cool?
Quote from: SilverClock;1508849When exactly did video games become cool?
Probably around the 90s when all the men were trading stocks on wall street while the women were wearing leotards and the kids were being ULTRA EXTREME.
Maybe it happened when all the nerds started making all the money.
it happened once ubisoft realized that there were people that didn't play videogames.
