This is the Clock Crew's Arguing and Telling People What You Think About God forum.
Rules:
- Post to win, it's a competition.
- The winner gets a trophy irl.
DO:
- Repeat yourself. He obviously didn't understand you.
- Ignore everything you can't come up with a response to. Conceding a point is the same as losing.
- Pick a side, and stick with it.
Never forget: An open mind opens your mind to attack.
- Wildly misinterpret ancient philosophies, modern sciences, and argumentation theory to your own ends. Google and wikipedia are your friend. The smarter you look, the more your opponent will very most definitely give up.
- Argue every aspect of every post in opposition to yours. Arguments can't stand if you don't agree with their support. Deconstruct, but you don't have to elaborate. Just tear it down and walk away while he fruitlessly argues with your zerg rush of disagreement.
- Similarly, present multifaceted arguments so that disagreeing with you becomes an overwhelming task as to be impossible.
If a thread hasn't mentioned God yet, try to steer it in that direction. The topic of God always brings in fresh ideas and perspectives, and, anyway, there's no way you're not absolutely correct about Him. This way you'll win for sure! =)
Try to compare opponents to Nazis (or something else universally acknowledged as bad, such as a disease), as subtly as possible. Always deny that you're doing this- as a preface to doing it, if possible. The other person looking paranoid as well as somewhat Nazi-like is a short path to victory.
Don't empathize with your opponent. He doesn't have an intelligent informed opinion like you do, he's just an ignoramus. We all have the same thoughts and experiences. If he disagrees with you, the only explanation is how much of an idiot he is, so fuck him.
DO NOT:
- Enter a discussion if you have any manner of reputation. Everybody here knows people act exactly the same way all the time, and that everything is pertinent. Any stated beliefs or behavior, anywhere, at any point, are open game.
- Ask questions without an ulterior motive. If you see one of these, do your civic duty and shut them down by any means necessary. We try to foster a culture of paranoia and aggressive discourse here, so a simple question with no insinuations or undercurrent of deception should be either ignored completely, or met with hostility. What exactly is that motherfucker trying to imply about you, anyway?
Flying off the handle is discouraged, so try to pretend the other guy is doing it all the time.
Trolling and derailing are OK, as long as it's sorta funny. If it gets excessive, a staff member may or may not do something about it, depending exclusively on how they feel about you as a person.
