I had a revelation yesterday and realized my own logo said creatustoons 2003-2006, thus is extremely outdated and shitty.
Behold it is now fixed up and prettier!

The ray background has a lot of cool depth and a certain softness to it. Nice work.
Quote from: AbstinenthClock;1524761Looks nice. The front of the brim bothers me though for some reason.
Same here. It's just an outright inappropriate color. You ought to change the lighter fill to be a bit subtler, or maybe just altogether make it the same color as the part it's lighting. Also, I'd consider using the optimize algorithm to clean it up a bit, but that's just me.
Quote from: Loki Klokka;1524800Same here. It's just an outright inappropriate color.
Well no actually the color is perfectly fine, its just not subtle. In the old logo it wasn't even noticeable, now its too noticeable is all.
But yea patched it a bit
Nah, I'm perfectly content with this. The only time you'll see the full logo box is in the introduction to cartoons where it fades in and out within a few seconds, and in that time your eye is drawn to the eye on the hat and won't even have time to move to the very bottom to notice the tacky name and date thats supposed to be legible, and not cool looking anyways.
zoom in to the eye 3 times
see you in a week

This made me notice a red glow you put on the eye, but you cant see it unless you zoom in that much. You could probably remove the glow, it may make it lag less.
nnnnnn I zoomed in 4 times. No lag whatsoever.
It's safe guys.
For me.

Its not a red glow thats just fill and does it lag when you don't zoom in? Because I don't care if it lags when you zoom in, what doesnt lag when you zoom into detailed animation in flash
sir you seem very insecure about this, is there something you are not telling us?
also whenever i scroll to it my cpu fan goes HUMNMNNNNNNNNNNNNN

No the point is I'm actually very secure about this, and I don't give a shit what your cpu fan does. I appreciate critiquing, but everything you've posted in this thread has just been I'm a edgy teen and not helpful in the slightest. k?
Quote from: RibsClock;1526682Don't be a chode, if you're going to use this as an icon in your flashes then it most certainly is helpful to know that it's a bit laggy and what's causing that.
Unless you decide to ignore the suggestions and be unkind to him in the process. But then, that's entirely up to you.
Yes I suppose I will be a chode then, because I refuse to consider

A critique.
And as I already addressed I'm not concerned with lag, and if you really need me to explain why further feel free to ask. But really I'll learn my lesson and from now on blatantly ignore everything that is suggested that is counter to my own direction rather then explain why.
Quote from: RibsClock;1526692There is no need to restate the obvious.
There is no reason to start calling out on the artists choosing not to do every single thing requested by the critic.
Quote from: RibsClock;1526692As I was saying, maybe you should be.
Or perhaps I shouldn't, because truly when it comes to creating quality flash these days you can't expect it not to lag on shitty computers. And because lag as a whole is always due to shitty computers I'm not going to hold myself responsible for it anymore. Frankly in the flash world some of you may have noticed as technology progressed and your machines for running that technology has not, that some flashes have been impossible to view with the many new flash implements while a few flash authors tirelessly worked to make their work run smoothly but at the cost of cutting lots of potential.
I'm done cutting potential so that the kid still running a decade old computer can watch smooth animation. If your computer can't handle what present flash technology is, too bad I'm not going to wait around for you anymore. If your fucking cpu fan starts making noises when your scrolling through a simple flash file, I consider that your problem not mine. I will provide viewers with the option of watching flashes in shitstain quality, which I find completely appropriate for those running flash on shitstain computers.
Quote from: RibsClock;1526692I don't "need" to know anything about why you choose this. It is, fundamentally, your problem.
And you don't need to suggest corrections either, but you have, and I do appreciate what you've said. But this is a fucking two way process, and the way you seemingly just expect me to bend over to everything everyone suggests in a critiquing thread is really just amusing.
So to wrap things up:
*I made a new logo quickly one day
* People suggested the font was screwy, I saw what they saw and quickly just lightened it a bit. If theres anything more wrong with this I dont see it, therefore it must be explained to me. YOUR FONT IS WEIRD. Is not helpful
*It was suggested that the hat brim looks weird. The hat brim does not look weird to me, and therefore in order fpr me to understand it must be further explained. YOUR HAT BRIM LOOKS WIERD. Is not helpful
No, I honestly did not expect the clock crew to provide me with perfect insightful critiqueing. But since apparantly you believe thats the case, you've got me writing a storm. I don't think I could have made it much clearer. But hopefully now, as I understand the clockcrews strange ways of suggesting things you too also understand my frusterations.
I really like the shading on the hat, it's just the shape of it could be improved a bit IMO, it looks a bit choppy. I really like that eye you got in there, and the background effect on it looks really great.

Okay, this is a problem. You're assuming that if there's a flaw with your art it's the user's fault, not yours. You're justifying your own excesses and inefficiencies by blaming it on something out of other people's control. This is a preloader, not the movie. It's very purpose is to be lightweight and load instantly because it's supposed to maintain communication with the user while other content loads, other content that is too large to be able to load instantly. What do you do if you have a gigantic movie that takes forever to load? People can't just have it sit and load in another window while they do something else,
because you took up the entire computer's resources on a fucking preloader.
Once you make something of function (like a preloader) you have to deal with the practical side of design, and basically you suck at that part right now.
And even if you don't plan on using the logo for the preloader, it's still the antithesis of good logo design. Logos should be so clean and symboloid that someone could redraw your logo after just one look. They're supposed to be identifying marks, glyphs. Could you carve it into wood with a swiss army knife? If not, it's probably a shitty logo.

No I said that if theres a flaw with LAG its the users problem. And how the fuck could you interpret lag as art.

You couldn't carve a tophat with an eyeball in wood? What, its like you decided to just give me a load of shit just because thats all this thread has been. And again, whatever you fucking wrote wasn't a critique. There wasnt even one single suggestion besides: IT LAGS RUIN ART. Because every famose painter will agree with you there.
ps: whats a loki?
