I imagined but never believed it would get this bad.

It has so much more unnecessary clutter, and the animation has definitely gotten less expressive... :(

This. The old one was so great because it was funny without having too many details, plus it was short enough. This one is too long, even without the sofa part.

The 3D elements at beginning look like shite.

EDIT:

Or this, crummy shortcuts either way.

I think it's cel-shading but nevertheless it doesn't look as good as the old one.

A cel-shader is a shader applied to 3D graphics.

This is just another nail in the coffin.

And its a shame to because, in its prime, The Simpsons was one of the funniest things, not just on TV, but within all popular culture, and anyone who disagrees is either a communist or a virgin.

They should have just ended it years ago.

Yea I know but you can't really associate the two since cel-shading doesn't look like normal 3d plastic shading at all...

Looks like they're trying to keep up with some of the newer cartoons; I liked the original for being the original.

Of course you can associate the two. Cel-shading is a property of 3D animation and the effects of depth simulation remain the same.

I do not care for such American TV shows.

the intro changes the entire cartoon, right?
Just stop whining, everything loses it's touch after a while.

Right.

The nostalgia is gone and now it has cemented itself as a past-its-prime cartoon that has run out of ideas and all the episodes are parodies of movies and popular culture. The Simpsons is becoming like a Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer movie.

As mentioned before, it's got too much clutter.
"Oh, hey, we got a bird flying in front of the words.  Isn't that awesome?  Here's some more stuff."

It doesn't change the cartoon itself, though.  It's not an entirely big deal, except it kinda is since the original had to be like the longest running title sequence in TV ever.

I've been watching the simpsons for Years. Years.

If i see an Episode i Don't necessarily like, I'm not annoyed, because i watch it for one thing; to see what my favorite family is up to this week.

All Things lose their touch, South park is starting to show it, and The simpsons too. Family guy is really, only young. it'll wear down over time, like many others have done.

I'm not bothered about the Opening Sequence. As long as i get to see my favorite TV family, I'm ok.

it wasnt too bad. There was a lot of unnecessary clutter but the new intro kept most of what was great from the original intro.. I do like the car finally hitting homer.. I always wondered what that would be like.

:this:

Also it's only longer because it's the first one, after this it'll probably be alot shorter.

Well, It's getting more Popular as it goes, Just like South park and the Simpsons. Once the episodes start to get a little weak... you know what i mean?

The simpsons intro was iconic and lasted for what, 18 years? This is ridiculous.

Quote from: GUG;1525611wasn't the Simpson  going to end after the movie?

Matt Groening was never allowed to make a statement on his position as a writer for the simpsons, but he said as long as he was working on the show, there would never be a movie, so he probably isn't actually a writer anymore

I liked the couch footprint thing. That was funny and smart. The animation IS less expressive. But that's how all the episodes are now. It fits the new episodes.

I love the cc bbs it can take something in mainstream and point out 100 things wrong with it.
