Thoughts thus far:
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Very nice to see Depp in an unfamiliar role. A lot of areas in the narrative felt a tad too muddled (even if intentional), however the style of the movie was very cool, and it had a nice sense of humour about it.
The Omen (original)
I have the feeling this movie has not aged terribly well, and I imagine it was far scarier when it was new. Still, it was well shot and very well told, although I feel that at times the soundtrack actually distracted. For instnce, a scene where I believe the dog is going after Robert, without music I think the scene would have been far more tense.
Death Proof
I really, really enjoyed this move. It was a terrific love letter to cheesey 70's movies, but because Tarintino is such a swell director he was actually able to make it awesome, too. If you can get over the bold decision 50 minutes into the movie you'll enjoy it a lot more.
Hard Candy
After watching this movie and REALLY thinking about it, no, it doesn't have any substance. It's a piss-poor torture flick that fails at being subtle, and even the psychological torment is just perverse. The director hamfistedly attempts to make you choose sides, then maks the correct choice clear at the end of the movei - except it isn't. Haley is evil and insane, nothing justifies what she did, end of. The movie didn't raise any questions, it may as well have just shown the violence, it would have accomplished more.
American History X
Ed Norton can carry a movie, he sure can. A great movie, a lot more intelligent than it originally appeared. The ending was really tense, and although it felt somewhat expected, it still had a huge impact on me.

The Age of innocence
My word this movie is better as an afterthought. Sitting through the movie was painful and very boring, however, it was amazingly directed and had a superb message to convey. Think of it as the perfect movie you hate watching.
I have Run, Lola, Run recorded, which I may watch today or tomorrow if nobody suggests anything or anything isn't on.

The Big Lebowski
One of the few Coen movies I hadn't seen. Once again, they show they're amazing at wirting and concieving characters, and the interactions are just perfect. A fun story spoiled only by the Coen's end goal to make a complex movie, where the ending only comes off as a tad contrived.
Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder
It starts off very funny, but like previous Futurama movies, the plot doesn't get going until a tad too late in the film. It was certainly better than Bender's Game, though, that's for sure. It fel like an extended episode, which was pretty good, I suppose.

Well, it certainly was not the spiritual successor to spirited Away. It had a lot of what Spirited Away had - interesting ideas, incredible animation, great art design, however it lacked the general intrigue. The entire story I was waiting for something more interesting to happen, or to at least make the romance a little less two dimensional. Not only that, but what felt like side-stories intruded on the plot and became the main focus. Not a bad film by any means, but it was a dissapointment, nonetheless.

It is exactly what it sounds like, and it is amazing. Terrible story, terrible acting, terrible effects - it's fucking hilarious, see it, they even throw in some soft core porn to desperately try to redeem the movie.

It was shot in a very interesting way, which I certainly enjoyed watching. The film was very good at, well, upsetting you. A very good movie, I feel the final ending scene was perfect.
Goodfellas
Another movie I'm surprised I hadn't seen. A perfect example of the gangster movie, it had you rooting for and at the same time against the main characters. Another great movie movie from the master!

I swear watch this movie it is fucking brilliant.
Taxi Driver
Cool movie, very good look at the psyche of a deranged individual. Anyone else think the final scene may have been a dream in Travis' head as he was dying? It seemed very out of place... Still, great freaking movie
Lock, stock and two smoking barrels
I can see why people call it the British Pulp Fiction, a movie very well done with a lot of memorable characters. It feels kind of like a movie the Coen broters would make. They tied everything together masterfully at the end, I can't count how many movies/TV shows have tried to have one final result for all the threads and failed.
If you like upsetting, watch The House of Sand and Fog.

O Brother, where art thou?
I've seen a lot of Coen Brothers, movies, and this was one of the best. I have to say it didn't suffer from something a lot of thier other movies do; characicatures instead of charactures. The story worked because whilst it was indeed very quirky and fun, it never felt unrealistic in comparison to the established world. Good flick!
The Age of innocence
After re-watching this with a bit more of an open mind, yes, it's a freaking amazing movie. Scorssese really is an incredible directos, and this fairly simple story of repression is told so ezquisitely that it demands multiple views, even if you found it hard to sit through the first time.
The African Queen
I thought it was about time I watched more movies reccomended by Clockcrew. It was refreshing to see a movie like this from the 50's, and I must say it outdid my expectations. I certainly liked it, and I'm very interested in the ending of the book, which was apparently completely different. I imagine that in the book, Charlie and Rose don't escape and live happily ever after :(
American Beauty
I fucking loved this movie. The only single problem I saw was that I would have liked some sort of resolve with Carolin, like a phone call where Lester tells her he loves her or something, but that would have felt really out of place. Terrific film, probably one of my new favorites.
Kevin Spacey makes a great child molestor
She was 18, right? That's the legal age of consent in the US, in some states it's sixteen. I don't think it was technically molestation/statutory rape

I'm well aware of that, however they felt much more like personal self-triumphs. In the end all of the characters except Ricky's father (and possibly Angela, although I think she did) overcame something. I just didn't really like how in the end Carolyn wasn't able to witness Lesters growth as a person, however perhaps it's important that Angela was the only one who was.
The Boat that Rocked
A pretty fucking good movie, I have to say. Great soundtrack, perfect acting, I really liked how it had an episodic nature that didn't really intrude or was really noticable. It made the flow of the movie sublime, see it!

Ever watched "Life is Beautiful"(La Vita e Bella)? It's a great Italian film, one of my favorites. Be warned, the beginning is a bit misleading. There are two very contrasting parts to the movie.

The Last King of Scotland
Wow, I was waiting to see Forrest earn that Oscar, and by God he did! The movie felt unusually fast-paced, and at times I would have preferred a wider look at the more political side of things, but the movie was still very good to watch, and I think it would be impossible to attempt to watch it in chunks (as I do with most of the movies I've seen through the course of the last 30 or so days)
Barton Fink
Maybe my favorite Coen Brothers movie, at least tied with No Country for Old Men. Absolutely amazing, the cinematography was the best I've seen in any of the Coen Brothers movies, and it really did rely heavily on imagery, a great deal felt very kubrik-esque (which is a fucking good thing). The characters were all instantly lovable and the performances were top notch. Ace flick!

Not sure where to stand on this one. Yes, I certainly liked it, but not by a huge amount, and it recieved quite a lot more recognition than it possibly deserved. A lot of the characters seemed a little two-dimensional to feel like anything more than place-holders, and I can say it didn't real feel like it had aged well. One this I most definately can give the film credit for is being able to show a genuine, well-acted and believable variation on teenage depression without resorting to irksome angst-ridden cliche's.

Jack Nicolson, oh my God Jack Nicholson - directing, fffff, holy moly, never have I seen a scarier movie, and I'm not scared easily. I'm not trying to be a macho-internet tard saying I'm not scared easily, it's just movies in general are too obvious when trying to be scary for me. The fact that this movie was devoid of any "jump out with LOUD MUSIC and GETCHA" moments made it that much more satisfying to sit through.

Brining out the Dead
Nicolas Kage proves he can actually act, and by God he does a great job. The story was nice, and the characters were really easy to like, although the whole ghost thing felt forced in some areas. I liked the entire pleseantness of the characters, and the relations were nice.
The Shawshank Redemption
Wow, what a movie! No wonder it's number one on IMDB. Not a single dull moment in the film.

Wow, the animation was fucking amazing! I'm still surprised how great all the smoke looked. Story-wise it felt a little convoluted, and there were tons of good ideas and concepts in there, but not many were stretched out. I'm sure it works better as a manga

Also you should watch The Seventh Seal its one of those classics you HAVE to see.
Also 12 Angry Men If I didn't say that before. It is like chugging a quart of concentrated characters and conflict.
Oh and Jesus Christ Superstar because its just a good story I don't care what religion you are. I went and saw the Jesus Christ Superstar musical a few nights ago, Ted Neeley himself was in it. The guy is 65 years old but can still sing. But the guy who played Judas was phenomenal, like I mean this guy made me tear up a little.

After seeing The Shawshank REdemption and the Shining so close together I was ready for another Stephen King classic. Well, it wasn't. The acting was good, and it really showed how well one guy can carry a movie. I found a few scenes involving Katie very emotional, however the entire movie wasn't very scary. It was suspenseful, which is great, but all the scares were really cheap.

Anyway, besides the somewhat cheap-looking animated segments the movie had a very good flow to it. However I couldn't quite tell what the film was going for. Nevertheless, if anything it's a good example of telling multiple stories in one film.

Shawshank Redemption and The Shining are pretty much the most loosely adapted Stephen King films. Shawshank was a short story turned into a feature length script by a really good writer and The Shining was adapted the shit out of by Kubrick. To be honest Stephen King is pretty rubbish most of the time.
I see that Stephen King USED to be a good writer. Shawshank was actually fairly faithful, and I know Kubrik doctored the heck out of The Shining, but a great deal of the same themes were there. Cujo, Salem's Lot, Carrie and Green Mile were all great books, but recently he's turned to writing pop fiction :(
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Enjoyed it more the second time. A very very sweet and bellievable comedy, no real flaws stand out, perfect for what it is.

I forgot how much I enjoyed this movie. Pretty good all around, actually. It was a nice blend of believability and outright silliness with lovable characters and a geunine sense of humour.
Monsters VS Aliens
It's a kids movie. I think animation-wise Dreamworks is better than Pixar now, they just have much worse art direction.
City of Angels
I didn't like it as much as the original black and white movie (Wings of Desire I think), but Nicholoas Cage again did a great job. I felt manipulated towards the end though, and I wish Cassio (Cassion?) had played a larger role.
Brazil
Another visually great movie from Terry Gilliam. It felt a tad long, but it was definately impressive - the acting wasn't amazing (although it was all solid), it was mainly the innovation of the movie that most stood out.
Drugstore Cowboy
Surprised I haven't seen more drug movies. I liked how bleak the setting was, and in retrospect I don't think it could have worked anywhere besides Portland. The story felt very believable, and the characters were all great, a nice surprise.
The American President
I miss the west wing :(
True Romance
Tarintino's first movie, but his clever and believable writing still shines through. Characters that you can love and hate at the same time, a great little story and I'm surprised I hadn't already seen it.
Slither
The moments that were meant to be funny weren't and the scary bits weren't scary either. I don't know what to say, I didn't really dislike it or anything, it's just that every now and then it took itself a little too seriously, then the very next moment you had an obese woman eating a possum. Meh.
The Seventh Seal
Wow, what an amazing film. A very dark, philosophical movie with a few genuinely warm moments. The acting was also absolutely amazing, a masterpiece by Ignar Berman.
