Presenting Script Frenzy, a month-long writing event in April, from the people that brought you NaNoWriMo, where you will
write a 100-page script in a mere 30 days! A tall order, to be sure, but I think you can do it!
Writing scripts is very different from writing novels. While a novel can be an elaborate, flowery detail of a rich, emotional story, a script is designed as direction; a way to just tell a story so that it can be made in another medium. Scripts are more strictly formatted and communicative, but that doesn't mean a script can't tell an incredible story. Scripts are an interesting writing challenge, and have a different air about them compared to prose.
The NaNoWriMo forum is still here, but between now and May, we will be using it as Script Frenzy ground zero! From here, you can discuss your script's direction, what you hope to do, and ask for advice if you get stuck. The official Script Frenzy forum (http://www.scriptfrenzy.org) will also be helpful, too. If you had an account at the NaNoWriMo forum (http://www.nanowrimo.org), you can use that at Script Frenzy, too.
Like with NaNoWriMo back in November, I and a few others will be overseeing a Clock Crew Script Frenzy group to encourage ideas, help with progress, and pass out an award or two after it's done. I'll also be happy to read your script after it's finished, if you so care to offer!
Scripts are measured by page length instead of word length, so the goal for Script Frenzy is
100 pages in 30 days, between April 1 and April 30. To reiterate,
DO NOT START EARLIER THAN APRIL 1! That kills the whole idea of the event. If you have a script already started, fine, but try and at least add 100 pages to it in April; that counts, too. You can write any kind of script you like, from a screenplay to a stage play to a comic book script. Unlike NaNoWriMo, however
you can write with a partner! You and your writing collaborator can register together, both here and on the official Script Frenzy site! I'm writing with a partner, perhaps you will, too! ;)
If you would like to participate in Clock Crew Script Frenzy, please post in here, and provide a link to your Script Frenzy profile, if you have one. It's not required, but I won't be able to confirm your page count without it. Good luck, I know you can do it!

Sure, why not.
I probably won't succeed. Again. Oh well.

So should we use, like, Celtx for this, or what?

I'll take part in this, but I'd like to work with a partner.

Partners could be interesting. Maybe Poltergeist will join up with me and we can finish on day 1.
Also I might do a warm-up play over the next two weeks.
Ah, what the hell. I need something else to do besides wait for my impending doom that is my exams.
I'm in. I might not finish, but I'll damn well try.
