it would have been funny if you had included the psp and the outlet thingy but it looks nice as it is. the self portrait is also very nice!

That might have made it less of a clichéd image, actually, but I like how traditional it looks - I was well chuffed to find that chair in my house, as it looks like a skinnier version of Van Gogh's.

They look pretty nice actually! The left wall on the still life doesn't really do it for me though. The lines going diagonally draw my eyes there, which they shouldn't. Also, add more shiney to the wine bottle :)

Thanks. You're really good for constructive criticism (this isn't sarcasm).

Aww thanks babe :D

I always hate seeing artwork threads where everyone sucks the person's dick just cause it's different. I'm never harsh, and if I am, it's because I'm angry at the cocksuckers.

But yes, this is a critique sub-forum, so I critique.

i liked the chair one... it looks like some of old- time paintings.

errr btw i liked the new- man portrait, but i would suggest

add more things to the eyes... i dont know what
also add shine to lips, and some shine on his clothes, or
face. and in his  head (on hair)
its too dark.

otherwise, gewd

Though I liked the still life, there was something about the self-portrait that I thought just wasn't quite right.

'Still Life With Ukelele': I'm a sucker for these kinds of things; I have no painting skills so I might be seeing this in rose-tint, but I like pretty much all of this and I think the consistency in your shading gradient is great. I think keeping the socket ganger and PSP would have been awesome as well, though.

'Self Portrait Age 17': It's a much more 'radical' style, it's nice and very distinct but I think the way you shaded around your cheekbones and gaunt along with the tall nose makes your face 'poke out' in the center too much. I don't have the actual reference of your own face to see if you actually look like this, but it doesn't look very natural in the painting.

You have a good grasp of colour but you could be a bit more bold with your brush strokes. The oranges in the still life are really nice but there aren't many other bits where the brush strokes are used to their full effect.

The self-portrait is almost really nice. I think you just need to be more confident with your shapes. The thing about it is that I can tell you were trying to be confident with your colours and the fact that the marks don't have the same attitude to them makes it feel like a less confident picture. If that makes sense. Just keep going though maaan.
