Title: Miles Edgeworth: Ace Attorny Investigations
Post by: Flounderpa on April 28, 2009, 01:23:51 PM
A new trailer of the new Phoenix Wright game (now, luckily, in English).
I am no genius but it says something odd...do you play as an attorney?, I mean The name was Perfect Prosecutor, now is Ace attorney, well just time will tell

Oh, and they give you another (not so useless) partner

A prosecutor is just a specific type of attorney.

So, another apparently obligatory underaged chick. Great. At least she isn't there in lieu of Gumshoe.

Well, what i like of the games are the judgements but this could be an undeniable  must-have.

Yes, Gumshoe is the only thing saving this game for me at this point.

I'll give it a chance.  It has Edgeworth and Gumshoe in it, so it has to have some worth.

I'm still on the second game and they're bringing another one out!!!????

I'm glad they're doing something different because pheonix wright gets really boring really fast.

looks more in the vein of traditional adventure games than the previous ace attorney games were. which could either be a good thing or a bad thing, because as an adventure game series, phoenix wright kind of sucks. moon logic, essentially unloseable, preposterous stories, "click everything" gameplay, infuriatingly stupid characters. the fact that it's fun to play is mind-boggling.

that cravat is so hot right now.

my only hope is that they don't screw up the image of edgeworth that i've developed from the other games. and that apollo never ever shows his pokey head ever again.

Idno, my image of edgeworth is a whiny self-centered bitch. I'm split whether I want this game to affirm this or not.

This is like making a Zelda game with Malon, Talon, Ganondorf, Zelda and Gorons but with Tingle instead of Link.

Only because of Gumshoe and Franziska. Those two I think are my favorite characters, maybe above Nick even.

Or just Payne, yeah Payne should be the final boss.

New stuff on the game site.

Yes I will continue to shove any info about this game down everyone's throat until the Adventures of Frilly Victorian comes out.

Yeah, I know. Idno why but it just always takes 'em a while, maybe its the translating process?
They do seem to tailor the game's writing more towards american audiences when it ships, like how the game is set in california or how there were those pop culture references in the flavor texts.

Yeah, I thought it was quite quaint, the whole Shinto-style cities on top of mountains only being 30 minutes away from LA and stuff. Still loved it though.

I just miss Maya with something disgustingly inhuman in me. At least Pearl, give me that much! :<

I hope for pre-orders they give away cravats. That would be so swell.

It's called localization, designed to make the game a little more comprehendible to those Americans who don't have bachelor's degrees in Japanese Culture studies. Also translation takes a bit longer than just running it through google translator.

Localization usually always has a few weird things that don't make sense in the new setting.

Free DS cravats. The cravat goes around the DS

I meant I've never figured out why the process takes so long. You'd think whoever capcom gets to localize it would be able to do so much quicker than six months.
