so in your opinion which do you think are better,
concept albums or non concept albums?
and by better i don't mean as if its the best thing in the world just which one would you rather sit down and listen to.
How do you compare them? It's all music at the end of the day. I listen to Devin Townsends' Ziltoid The Omniscient more than any of his other albums.

i suppose i just look at them like one as a collection of songs and another as one giant song being played throughout the album.

Volitar's "Murder Mystery Mayhem" is a pretty great concept album
An album is best when the songs combined form a cohesive whole, rather than just a bunch of random songs thrown on one disk. Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero in particular, god damn that was good. I was really into the ARG for a while, and now they're finally getting the HBO miniseries going, AWESOME.
I like concepts. An all-encompassing idea to a bunch of music is artistically fascinating.
an album with tracks that meld/flow together and a concept album are 2 different things in my book.

Honestly I didn't think American Idiot was that bad. It's just that a lot of people obsessed over it and it was getting played on the radio constantly. Within one hour on an alternative radio station you'd get every single off the album twice.
